decals for airsoft?
anybody know of anywhere that i can order decals for my airsoft guns?
Thanks |
What size decals are you looking for? for example are you looking to get them small enough to put on your guns?
|
.... You mean like a "Type R" decal to put somewhere? or like a "Made by Colt" decal? Can you be more specific?
I don't think that you'll find them being made but you could probably print some out on a printer with "clear stickers", you know like the "stickers" that come with some Warhammer models that you dip in water and apply to the models. |
this isnt paintball, your gun doesnt need stickers.
it needs trademarks |
why would you want to put decals on your airsoft gun? they aren't dirtbikes. Engraving's were it's at

thanks...i was actually looking for decals with trademarks...(but i'm not sure if these are even made)....i did a search on google..couldnt find too much...
but was just thinking if anyone here knew of a site that sold decals for ppl to put on their guns.. even if just to personalize... as for engraving, i wouldnt trust myself enough..if you're talking about doing it yourself.. |
Yep for that kind of stuff you'd need to find a laser engraver. But it's guns, so... not your average engraving shop else they'll think you're some random gangsta, lol.
There's one everyone recommends on ASC (IIRC he's a member here), I'll try to dig up his name. |
sorry forgot to add,
in response to some of your questions, more specifically, it's for my WE SCAR gbb. it has a plastic lower receiver and its blank. there's no trademarks and anything..its just blank ideally i would like to know if they even make a decal for the SCAR that i could stick on (or if that's not allowed) then even if there are any cool decals made for airsoft guns... |

In every town/city I've lived there have been places that will print you a decal of what ever you want (up to a certain size). You provide them with a graffic in whatever format they want and they'll print you a decal or sticker to which ever size you want. It's better quality than the home printer kits and usually doesn't cost too much so long as you stay to one colour.

Not the engraving part. |
SCARs don't have markings on their lower receivers - even on the real steel. I suppose you could apply some sort of trademark decal, but it wouldn't look appropriate to the weapon.
|
a decal would look horrible once it gets scratched. unless your scar is a wall hanger...

Going back to the Warhammer thing, this was what I was thinking about: http://bitzbarn.com/oscommerce/catal...icleDecals.jpg
That being said, I don't know how it will stand the test of time and wearing out in the field but it's something to start with/consider. As for engraving, I guess one of those sports trophy/engraving stores could do it for you. You should have your "engraving" reference pic done in high res jpeg, svg, psd, postscript, or a similar "vector" image that is easily scalable and high resolution. Also it's probably best if you tell them it's for a RAP4 paintball gun or something if they ask. Also I know this may sound really retarded but I'd actually consider putting a "Type R", "Type S", and "Safe" as my trigger group on a gun (corresponding to Auto, Semi, and Safe respectively). |
If you're worried about rubbing the decal off, there's some tricks of the trade that I can hook you up with.
I have worked fairly extensively with plastic models. One way to coat your decals is to airbrush a layer or two of Future Floor Polish over top of it, to seal the decal. |
