True. Airsoft / BB is the same thing in the public eye.

Space Bot October 7th, 2010 02:56

Oh joy, the only thought that comes to mind after reading that is
"Soccer moms unite!"

I can't wait for some crazy person to try to blow this out of proportion.
"OMG!! Airsoft is fully to blame for this! Don't mind the kids retarded parents who gave him the money, and most likely bought it for him. And who also don't see anything wrong with him talking about beating h**s and cappin asses all day... IT WAS ALL AIRSOFTS FAULT"

Hopefully I'm wrong... I just feel very cynical right now.

Coresair October 7th, 2010 07:20

I seriously think we should stop jumping the gun each and everytime a kidiot gets charged for shit like that seriously, from the title I get he's 18? (The link doesn't get me to the article, i'm on my BB) Well I don't see any problem whatsoever. BB guns are still around and aren't going anywhere. Since BB guns = Airsoft and vice versa to the authorities/public, I think it's safe to say that nothing is going to come out of this in the end.

Just my 2 cents

Gunk October 7th, 2010 07:32

Doesn't say what kind, or how it was being transported.

Was it a pistol tucked in his waistband? Part of it sticking out of a bag? Slung on his back? What?

There's nothing I hate more than an article leaving you with more questions than answers.

AngelusNex October 7th, 2010 07:37

my guess, it was more likely a BB gun, hand gun, tucked into his pants. Was prob doing it to make him a "badass" in front of his friends.

That was my first thought, but it could have been a larger gun in a backpack, taking it to his buddies place, or of to TTAC or something... I just want to know... damn you CP24, damn you to hell.

As sad as it is that's probably what will happen even though he's 18 and therefore a LEGAL adult who's responsible for his own actions. He probably bought it with his own money too (I don't know too many 18 year olds asking their parents for "allowances" other than those stereotypical rich mainlander chicks). In fact like George Lopez says, if you ask for "allowance" you'd likely get an "allowance" to live and not get your ass kicked by your grandma.

I'm not going to pass judgment because the details are sketchy but if someone saw it then that's obviously a no no and therefore it eliminates the scenario that the gun was in a case. It could have been his backpacks zipper got opened somehow and the pistol/rifle just stuck out enough for someone to be concerned though. (I know with my backpack sometimes the zipper gets "loose" and the backpack is opened)

Is it bad that first thing that came to mind was to wonder if thenooblord has been on since then?

I bet is was some wannabe wigger with pistol in his waistband.

Styrak October 7th, 2010 08:22

What needs to be fixed is Joe Canadian's view of guns/firearms.

Was still a bad idea though.

Shirley October 7th, 2010 08:45

It wasn't me. LOL

Events such as this

have no bearing on this community,

WE are all responsible owners, We always transport our guns properly, particularly when on public transportation.

We are not idiots ,

We are not Criminals

this has nothing to do with US

HKGhost October 7th, 2010 10:27

I hope you're right Brian. If it was an airsoft gun and he's on this forum, I hope someone would kick his stupid ass.

Thenooblord October 7th, 2010 10:44

hi, im not in jail, also, not 18

Crunchmeister October 7th, 2010 10:49

With the irrational panic people have in Toronto when it comes to guns, it might be that he bought a BB gun at Cdn Tire, was on his way home, and someone saw it in its clamshell through those extremely thin Cdn Tire bags and call cops.

There are no details on this story, so anything that's being mentioned in this thread is nothing but speculation (including my alternate potential version of events).

Nik12 October 7th, 2010 17:46

That just down the street from me. I never heard anything about it until now.

It hasn't happened the last 20 times, why would it happen now? lol
few years back 2 guys were busted with ACTUAL airsoft guns on a subway. Can't remember if it was toronto or vancouver, but the incident was never heard from again.

Unless something BIG happens, like a group of people hijack a plane with airsoft guns, we've got nothing to worry about.

Do you know how many millions of dollars of damage baseball bats cost per year? And you still don't even have to be 18 to buy them! :D

Lets not pick on or speculate about members on this board without proof guys.

There are plenty of legit things to pin on him. No need to make shit up.

But remember, it's the soccer (or more correctly the baseball) moms who buy their kids that because they don't see a single thing wrong with it. Sure their kids are responsible with it and play actual baseball. But there's still people who use it purely as a blunt weapon to beat the shit out of any one or anything they want.
It's just part of the human condition. Some people will find amazing ways to make the simplest thing into a weapon, just look at inmates. And some people can manage to find the smallest tid bit and blow it completely out of proportion.

Diabolic Tyrant October 24th, 2010 22:23

You all worry too much.

Dart October 25th, 2010 02:35

Remember, guns kill more people than airsoft. Besides even if they do ever fully ban airsoft... Do you really think the bad guys will care? Its like criminals don't buy registered hand guns.

Only way this may ever come back this way is if one of these turds were wearing an "I love asc" shirt...
