Memorable moments of a game!

Playing a game in Prince George. The team I was on was the UN Peacekeepers (ie rules of engagement). We walked down this hill and there was a member of another team just standing there peacefully so we went walking by.

Then all of a sudden team mates were dropping like flies, a faction had opened fire on us. We tried taking cover but it didn't seem to make a difference. Then everything went quiet and I see my entire team walking up the hill with their kill rags on. Great, Im alone.

Where I was laying was in a large growth of tall wheat like grass, no cover.

That's when I heard voices and realized the team that had engaged us was coming back. Seems they were only about 30 feet from their spawn point. Grrreeeaaaattt.

Well I figure if I lay quiet I might survive long enough for my team to come back and rescue me. Oh look the team is fanning out and walking up the hill towards me.

So I simply rolled onto my back and spread my knees. I would lean up slightly, take a couple pop shots between my knees with my M14 and quickly lie back down. After about 4 kills they finally started shooting. They were aiming all over the bloody hillside. Got another 2 and their shots started getting closer.

Problem was as fast as I was knocking them down they would be coming back since the respawn was right there.

Got another 1.

This time shots were coming from my left along the hill. I was being flanked. Due to the grass I couldn't see anything to my left and the BB's were coming through the grass about a foot over me. That's when I noticed there was a log that was giving me cover just on the outside of the grass as long as I was laying flat.

By this time 10 minutes had gone by and still no support. What I didn't know was they were ambushed on the way back to me by the second hostile team.

Got another 1.

Out of ammo.

I was just about to surrended when a BB came in from the side and took me in the temple.

I'll never forget that game for as long as I live! :D

3 of us moving through a field, open surrounded by trees, we know theres a sniper somewhere around so we double time it to the tree line. I've got a SPR, theres a M249, and a mp5sd in the squad, we hold up for a bit to get our bearings (we're moving into a small village to get a bomb) when the guy with the sd5 turns around and starts shooting into the tall grass on our six, well wouldnt you know the sniper pops up 6 feet away from the saw... ok so he surrendered and is waiting a medic... we wait nothing so we leave him and move on... not 5 minutes later we are around the perimeter of the village when we see THE SNIPER! walking with one of his team mates straight down towards us "friendly?" he asks and the response "OPEN FIRE" all of us turn and fire at him i've never seen anyone run so fast dodging the trees trying to get away

Well I was playing a game in the states with a JG M4 in a very woody and swampy area. I look around and realize I'm lost and only 20 yards from the enemy spawn, so I slowly turn around and walk away. Suddenly a enemy runs by and says "Wait till I'm not dead" and stares at me while walking away. I laugh in his face and then run like a little girl because he came with backup. I'm running and screaming because they have 380FPS+ snipers, AEGs and GBBRs shooting at me and I chose that game not to wear any thick material and then the best thing in life happened. I ran into 6 of my guys, one of which had a M60. Suddenly I'm between the two teams so I dive and watch as the BBs go over my head and for some reason a helmet. I kid you not one of my guys was out of ammo so he threw his helmet. We beat them then ran into their base wreaking havoc. Best game ever. The guy even found his helmet... In the middle of a creek that ran through the bases.

Last weekend actually, first game in Europe.

We were playing attack and defend. 5 guys in the "hotel" and I think like 7 or 8 of us assaulting. I was tasked with frontal assault with 2 other guys while the rest of the team snuck around the back.

We pushed right past these fences that gave us cover and I was sitting there behind this little fence. They kept taking potshots at me and I returned fire ("snap shooting") getting one here and there but they finally got me when I tried to snap shoot and got me right in the face like 3 times.

Second time would have been the time the enemy passed right by my team. We we're playing downed pilot/SF extraction with 5v8 and holding our locations then retreating to the next location when the timer went. We finally got to the extraction point and were planning on engaging our pursuers. They totally passed right by us hiding in the bushes/tall grass and were waiting in the bushes up ahead for the other 2 people that split away from our "SF team". We could even see the enemy, so we stood right in the middle of the road for a while shooting the shit. Then the game Marshall told us to engage them so we did, and had a crazy firefight at basically our maximum engagement distances (we we're using .20's since I was renting from someone else so the shots went off really wildly everywhere. I totally could have gotten them if I had .25's or .28's though). It was a good way to end the day IMO.

my best moment was during a team practice skirmish ! we where ambushing the rest of the team but I was the sacrified one alone in plain view ground ! after like 15 minutes...there was nobody in sight...so I looked around and saw a head popping in the high grass. We engaged but I was out ranged...I kept them at distance tho. Then I finally got pissed, so I went in the wood, I knew that the saw me but it was the only thing I could do so I sneaked in the wood some time. I finally arrived in their back ! they where engaged by my team mates, so I got closer then I took a shot. I hit one on the ass...damn his expression worth a million, anyway the other one took a run to cover his ass. I ran through the wood dodging trees and lost him, but when I looked at a tree I suspected him to be hiding there, so I took some bursts through it and got him!

Really liked that skirmish !

sorry for the english

Here's another small one.

Playing a game in Kamloops. I was lying down next to a log preparing an ambush when I noticed an enemy coming. He was coming from a direction where the trees were really thick so I didn't want to risk missing and I let him get closer. I laid on my back thinking I would let him walk past and I could then just rise up and shoot.

Instead he walked through the thick trees and started to step OVER the log I was lying behind. His boot was actually inches from my chest when I asked him to surrender.

The look on his face was priceless. :D

Not an actioned packed moment but a visual ""what the fuck" moment
OP Pine Plains in Fort Drum NY, we had just been dropped off by our lift at the secondary MOUT site, Mission was search and recover of a downed pilot. As we're walking up the hill we see the smoke from the downed helo and it's deadly silent. As we pop the crest there is a real live crashed AH1 Cobra gunship with smoke just pouring out of it, all effects mind you, but just the feeling of walking next to the crashed helo with smoke all over it being quite was a jaw dropping moment. Especially seeing the we got this Frago at dawn which just added to the visual effect. Very high up on the MilSim scale!

R.I.T.Z October 13th, 2010 20:30

finch field
start game, on the hill over looking the trail. I grab a bunch of twigs stick them in my boonie and lie down next to a tree everybody laughs at me. i pull out my mags and stack them infront of me and take aim down the trail game begins, heres comes the enemy few rounds there out, another bunch, a mag there out just riddling the trail.... well i finally get hit.

second part move down the ridge to the right moving through the trees i meet up with two members of my team, we continue down the trail and engage two targets husband wife, they go back to spawn and we continue down the left flank, few minutes later we come up on their spawn..we see the enemy coming in and out, finally we decide to run. so the three of us, run out from the trees running full tilt shooting at the respawned troops, all you hear is "holy sh*t are those our guys?!" we keep running, straight through the spawn and up the trail i take out a few people before getting shot and a guy runs up trying to mercy me after i'm already hit.

I wrote one up a while ago...

One of Leecas' WW2 games at the old, old flag raiders...

If I find it I'll repost it...but to summarize:
- buddies and shooting
- light snow falling in the forest
- deer walking right across our line
- my 2nd child was born
- got to finish the game

:)

I think I got into airsoft the day after this game when I read the after action!

Those of you who know Leecas know he is a pretty calm dude (when he isnt making it rain :P). Needless to say when hes CHARGING UP A HILL BEHIND YOU YELLING FOR YOU TO MOVE YOUR ASS, YOU DO IT.

I'd talk about a very memorable and fun moment that happened at WestCan, but the russian chick who was there playing on our team might pipe up and bitch about me MENTIONING her. I'm totally serious.

However another good moment was crawling through the brush at 3:30am at the Edmonton field, didgeridoo in tow and my back-pack mounted front-aimed car-battery powered bullhorn speakers (ask AugMan, I nearly deafened him), and then setting my mic at the bottom of the dideridoo and blew for all I was worth. I'm pretty sure I pissed off anyone trying to sleep.

Yay Psy-Ops!

At the old new flag raiders. Big Colt Farmer game. Renegade) put a huge hole in his pants. Army Issue had a table of goods he was selling but no pants. I think he used tape and a shemag and played all day with a diaper.

Viking and I are at a bog game at Wolfpack Muskoka. The game with the white barrels we had to take from each other. FOr the life of me I can't remember the name of the game :D

This was just after the tornado that went through that area and knocked down allot of trees so neither of us was really sure where we were. We set out from the "Market" safe zone, and started up a hill. About 10m in we hooked up with a line of guys and just started walking with them.

About half way up the hill one guy ahead of me starts talking in Russian. The line stops and two guys go by us with a couple of barrels.

I look at Viking and he looks at me. I stage whisper "You know where we are?"

Viking: "Yep"
Me: "Ready?"
Viking: "Yep"

The line starts moving again and Viking pulls out his smokes to give us a reason to stay put as the last man in the line goes by.

I roll up behind the last man and I reach around cut his throat, but I FUCKING MISS and rake him across his breastbone, so the guy starts yelling and falling. Good on him for knowing I missed but still at least acting wounded. He screamed REALLY fucking loud.

We start spraying the line, me on the left and him on the right, backing up to some cover behind a large fallen tree. We got about 10 of em before we got separated. I fall over the tree on my side and lost sight of Vike.

Hunkered down I got three more, and one more with a barrel behind me. I grabbed the barrel and kicked it down the hill, I hooked back up with Viking. He got another 2 or 3 himself. We took the barrel back to the Safe Zone and rv'd with the rest of our team...

It was like a fucking movie. Just perfect.

OPCT 2 Capital Thunder - Dead tired after a whole night ops sneaking into OPFOR and some minor skirms with OPFOR, Got the nuke and went back to base to get some Z, got down to shorts, T top and my very comfortable beach flip flops.......then that damn Lt gave the orders of ARMED YOURSELF, Prepare to DEFEND and REPEL OPFOR. Just as soon as I finish shouting profanities at the command I gather my mags and gun ready to defend teh small left opening in the base, at the corner of my eye I saw a batch of OPFOR on my left flank trying to sneak in, I proceed to tread along the edge of a minor hill, moved along the edge of a deep stream and arund to their rear flank. To their surprise I pop out of the edge and start shooting....took out six then the next batch and so on, in the process my teammate Chapel and Jezus was taken out (well Chapel fell into the stream), confused the OPFOR was shouting at me thinking that I was OPFOR because I was wearing a red tank top and in a non JOTF uniform. Finally with all the OPFOR on the side dead I gave the rest of teh OPFOR with the boys a chase until Lt issue dteh stand down order. That morning dead tired from the night mission all night ops and the rest of JOTF successfully defend our base capping a memorable weekend for all the participant.

I think BT meant to convey that he and Viking had completed their covert insertion into the enemy team and pulled off a stunning chaos/snafu "turning the tables on them".

I'm sure the "getting lost and hooking up with the enemy's column" was planned...

...I remember an FTF game where Viking led us on a tactical circling maneuver that saw us successfully extracting from our base, traveling over hill/dale and through forest....resulting in us returning to our base to re-establish ourselves in force. (we went in a big circle and found ourselves back where we started....must have confused the shit out of the enemy)

Brillant stuff like that wins battles!

Nice.

Yeah, I've successfully lost my team in Muskoka as well. It's my moral compass that I lead with.

That game BT was referring to was the one I arrived at in the evening. I played all day at the LZ in Ottawa, then jumped in my car and drove through some hillbilly roads and eventually made it to Muskoka.

It's always interesting to hear another persons perspective about something you were both involved in. It's like when two people look at a picture and they see things differently. That night was no exception.

BT is right. Muskoka was banged up pretty good after that weather hit it. Both of us were wandering back into the fight, and I think it donned on us at the same time that we were in their backyard, and in a prime position to slay bodies.

I remember BT stalking up to a Russian player and going for him. Then I remember the dude screaming like a bomb siren. As I dropped to a knee to lay down fire, I remember clearly wondering how in the hell did that go wrong? The rules had medic bandages. I remember getting hit, and then applying the bandage. I think BT got hit too. There was a short lull while we collected ourselves, and then we were back to killing bad guys.

If you can imagine night time and on a side of an elevation, cluttered with trees. Now imagine bad guys in the back ground, in the mid ground, and in the foreground. When BT and I opened on them, I watched the foreground drop, then the mid ground fall apart, and then some background folks started to drop. I swear it was like we were clearing the jungle in Predator.

BT and I hooked up again, and made it back to the market. This was a no fire zone and both sides were there for hot dogs and water. I remember walking into a group of bad guys that weren't involved in our little gunfight and saying, "Wow. All that killing made me very hungry."

Sure, we got lots of kills. I was more impressed that we made it out in one piece. Good times.

Boyso October 14th, 2010 14:50

At Rawdon, running like mad to flank a group of enemies, take aim, and having my whole barrel slide out of my m4.

And saying : "Holy crap" before dying.

On the moment, I was angry; now I laugh :P

L473ncy October 14th, 2010 15:09

Spartan.... How does that even happen? I've heard of entire front ends falling off because of a broken body pin but never an (inner?) barrel falling out. I'm sure that's actually a great story and I would actually tell that story proudly.

PS: I was way too young when the WestCan games were being run but does anyone have any more stories from WestCan?

On a S-System. Outer barrel is held by only 2 screws.

It happened that the front one snapped, and the rear one unscrewed itself, most likely due to vibrations.

Good ol' locktite now :)

Oh and walking back to the Safe area with the M4 in one hand and the barrel in the other was funny also. Y' know, you look tough :P

L473ncy October 14th, 2010 16:04

Heh... vibrations at the rear... I laughed out loud (don't worry I'm in my dorm room). I don't know why I find the concept of "vibrations" funny.

I agree, it kind'a came out wrong ^^

Anyway. Let's just say someone forgot to tighten the screws at the factory.

-The heart attack hill at Rigaud....

-See porkchop ruining a perfect ambush by forgetting to put a battery in his gun. (good thing because I was the one getting ambushed)

-The mad germand charge executed with perfection at centra spike 1 ( Porkchop executed 3/4 of the oposing team by himself)

-Last game at the pit I charged the ennery front line with half a mag in the gun and a full chestrig of empties.( good thing I had my thrusty m60e4 pistol)

-Seeing Poncho get his ball shot off by Ravens mgl6. ( Raven was covering a hallway and I was setup in a crossfire position. Next thing I know opfor setup a barricade towards my position and Raven pops them with a grenade. First thing I know I see Poncho storm the room yelling that ravens grenade launcher is empty. Next thing I hear is the distictive sound of a gas grenade go off all I see is a flood of green and yellow bb roll out of the doorway and poncho yell "WTF you have two" to witch raven replies " no I have 6".

-During a night game actually using Raven's arm as leverage to haul me out of a ditch... The problem is that I was sure his arms was a branch.... the real problem was that He was on the opposite team.... Thanks bud for not shooting me.

-These are some of the good ones.... But there are so many others that I would be typing for days on end.... Usualy there is at least 1 memorable moment in every game

Sasha October 14th, 2010 17:28

A sort of fugitive game. I was given a 30 second head start then chased by about seven people and had to reach an objective about a kilometer away.

I took the scenic route since I can't quite run at 350fps, and managed to ambush and kill two of them on the way, but the other five got wise to my cunning plan and took the road to the objective, beating me there and setting up a sort of cordon.

However, from my cunning clover-leaf reconnaissance techniques I deduced that they were mostly watching the road, and so I approached through the bushes (the rain and wind masked my sound) and managed to get right up behind one of them. I tapped him on the shoulder and politely informed him he was dead, and then walked right through the cordon and out into the middle of the objective and said something like, "how's it going guys?"

Wrath144 October 14th, 2010 20:44

I like the part with the shooting and camo.

Brayden October 14th, 2010 22:39

I'll keep this short, it was just a interesting. We were playing regular red vs blue with spawns and to be honest our team was out of hope, we were trapped in a corner, surrounded by enemies we couldn't see. Some team members gave up a littl, we tried to stop wallowing around at spawn and make a plan. Our plan went as follows,

"Alright guys stand up lets go, if we do a group we effort we might be able to take 'em"
"They are completely surrounding us and I can't see anything with my glasses fogged"
"Same they keep fogging"
"I have a idea, lets pull a Leroy!"
"hahah alright lets all Le-"

*OTHER TEAM*
" LLLEEEEERRRRROY JEEENNNKINS "
" LEEEERRRROOOOY JEEEEENKINSSS "
" LEEEERRRRROOOOOY JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENKINSSSSSSSSSS "
" LERROY JEEEEEEEENKINSSSS "
" LEERRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOY!?!?!??!?! "

*OUR TEAM*
"Did THEY just Leroy?"

At OP Black Insurrection 2,
We were 6 in a APC,
We were dropped Behind enemy lines to bring chaos in the other team and kill ther CO.
The moment we exit the APC, we ran for the forest. Only one thing was between us and the forest : A swap.
We all jump in it thinking it was hard ground.
The reaction we had was EPIC. A mix of : "TABARNAK KOSSÉ SA" and "FUCK"
We spend the rest of the game with our pants smelling like sewers and ocean in our boots.
It was awesome !

Was at an outdoor CQB game and had set myself up in some hay bales to guard the rear entrance to the building we were defending. Every time one of the OpFor came around back I waited till they were at 15 ' from the door (I was about 50 feet away at 90 degrees to the door) I'd pop them (double tap). They would look around saying "where the F@#$ did that come from". They were convinced it was someone inside the building shooting out at them. Got many kills that game.

That was a great game, I always enjoy a good Leroy charge ;)

My personal favorite was at Op Broadsword. It was a CQB game in a old derelict hospital that apparently was now used for CF training.

I ended up re-spawning with only one teammate (Lisa, if memory serves) and trying to stealthily move up on the enemy team through the first floor, as we assumed most were on the second. As we are clearing a room we get contact from the hall and my teammate is hit, leaving me alone. I waited for a few seconds and let the opfor think they had just picked off a straggler, then I pop out into the hall and give a good spray to keep their heads down. I was running an AKS74U with a lipo, so "a good spray" is not something to be trifled with. Naturally, they ducked and I ran down the hall a bit and ducked into a shower room on the other side of the hall.

Now I'm alone, with no radio, and outnumbered. So I fold the stock on my AK, lay prone, and poke the muzzle and the top of my head around the corner of the door frame and start popping off single shots whenever I see one of them take a peek around the corner. They could not stick their heads out long enough to aim so I lasted quite a while. They eventually got me when backup came from the other direction and got me with a tornado grenade, its only after I died and started walking back to spawn that I realized I had just held half their team at bay for a good 10 minutes or so.

But the best part is that I was close enough to hear them trying to coordinate a plan to take me down:

Opfor 1: "where is he?"
Opfor 2: "Two doors down on the right."
Me: "I can hear you whispering!"
Opfor 1: "...Fuck."

A close second for my favorite moment is using a hat on a stick to draw fire in Op Drug Bust 3 ;)

DoctorBadVibez October 16th, 2010 18:36

repost from the other thread
Many moons ago, not too many moons after the dawn of the V2 gearbox;

Red Vs Blue
Weekend game, so no pressure to attack enemy right away
Respawn was 5 mins inside a designated tent
Both teams setup base, perimeter and patrols
You could be attacked at anytime even at night, sentries were put up
First day some contacts, sporadic firefights, returned to base, maintained perimeter
First night, bedded down, complete darkness, two enemy recon ops passed within 15 meters of our base camp, we went silent and dark
Day two, OUR recon group sighted new outposts set up on the first night, called in reinforcements, firefight ensued, we sent em packin'
Day two, at dusk Red team raided our base camp, our sentry was having a nap, BB's whizzing every where, ops freaking out, ops calling contacts in every direction, ops calling out hits, we got our asses handed to us,
ONLY one rule, if you didn't call your hits, you got a nice burst of auto,
THAT was fun...

Playing a game at combat 307 in Gatineau, sat myself and 2 of my team mates on a ridge overlooking a flanking route, about 5 minutes goes by and on the path below me I see about 20 of the 30 enemy team members walk by. I opened up with my M60 and within half a second my team mates open up. I dont know how many I got personally but not one of the enemy team members made it out unscathed.

Another game at 307, I was walking up the main path providing a distraction and cover fire for my team mates flaking along hte hillside. I was randomly shooting at objects to keep heads down and people focusing on me. But every time I shot a burst at a bush or a log I would hear Hit and a flag pop up.

During the same game, my squad came to a corner. We were unsure what was around it so we tossed a grenade. No hits were called, so I poked my head around the corner, and saw 2 guys cowering in a ditch taking cover from the grenade. I poped out with my M60 and give them a burst their reaction was priceless.
