Baker_Jeff's Lee Enfield No.4 MK1 Build -A

All right folks, I've fired up the next project, so I will start documenting this one.

This is:

Baker_Jeff's Lee Enfield No.4 MK1 Build -A.

Parts for Build -B have already started being purchased as well :).

The base gun:

The receiver removed:

This receiver is ALOT smaller and slimmer than the first project, so it will work very, very well. I'm quite excited for the wood to arrive so I can test fit.

The KJW trigger guard (top) compared to the Enfield trigger guard (bottom):

The KJW M700 magazine in the Enfield mag well, only a little bit of filing and it will fit perfectly:

Stay tuned!

I'm stoked to see how this will turn out.

Good luck Jeff!

Again..... That project is looking sexy. Not a total fan of the Enfield myself but it rates pretty up there for WWII guns. More of a fan of the M1 Garand, Kar 98 and M1903 Springfield.

Also a fan of the Arisaka Type 99 rifle as well.

Anyways... my project (that I'm hoping to get off the ground one of these days) is going to be a VSS...... I'm sure everyone knows I've been a fan of them since Army Ops (Americas Army).

audi_bhoy October 29th, 2010 17:31

Swweeettt! Hope that it will works!

First wood kit just walked in the door... so it begins!

mr_nuts31 November 2nd, 2010 20:36

wow man, I wish you luck in this project, btw what ever happened to the first one anyway? I can never figure that out. Oh wait, nvm

R.I.T.Z November 2nd, 2010 20:43

definatly following this... then gonna see if i can build one.

where are you getting the woodkit?

baker_Jeff November 2nd, 2010 21:27

Ebay has lots but quite expensive, check your local gun stores.

OMG updates!

After 2 days of vigorous sanding, filing, and dremelling, this is how she sits:

http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...A/IMAG0048.jpg

The receiver is in, and the KJW trigger guard is in. I chose the KJW trigger guard over the original Enfield piece (which I just bought 2 more of, doh!) because it also serves as the magwell for the magazine. For best fitment of the mag, will have to sacrifice using one original piece.

The mag in place:

Eventually the plan is to fit an Enfield magazine up with the KJW mag.

Stay tuned!

noticed your using the short mags. what about the long ones?
that way the part of the mag that protrudes from the body just needs a bit of a shell

DrDoUm October 26th, 2011 12:12

Sorry to necro the post...

but since I'm looking at doing a similar project, it came to my attention that with a long Tanaka M700 mag as it is, the enfield could ressemble a lot like an australian M10 No.4 MK4
