ALl questions can be answered above ^ however i'll answer you anyways since i don't feel like being a regular ass tonight. iam a paintballer but iam planing on switching over to the airsoft game i love the idea of spring rifles what do you think about spring powered rifles A: If you are talking about a sniper rifle stay clear of them. You must take a course to become a marksman, but even then sniping is not like COD or any video game. You must have a crap load of funds put into your loadout (Ghillie Suit) as well as gun. You will have to upgrade it to get it to its highest performance level. I suggest you get an AEG, all beginners do. i was wondering what the deal was with the masks do you have to use them or can you just use shotting glass are fields different with the mask rules or is it all the same A: Most fields atleast here in Ontario (PLEASE FILL OUT YOUR LOCATION INFO it helps us with answers) enforce a Paintball goggle only rule due to the fact that we mostly play at paintball fields. Now the full face mask is not necessary HOWEVER I suggest it if you don't want to lose teeth or take a BB to the face :p what is a hop up (sorry i bet it sound retarded) A: YouTube - What is Hop-Up? #1 Like I said most questions can be found in the FAQs or if you use the search bar. NOW MANY will say get Age Verified or AV'ed. To sum it all up it is worth it in the end, trust me all the rest of ASC when I say that, we support AV'ing 150%. NOW YOU MUST be 18 aka a legal adult to be AV'ed so if you are underage most of us suggest you wait till your 18 to even start this sport as most retailers here will not sell to underage children anyways. NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER! buy from EVIKE, OR BUYAIRSOFT.ca THEY ARE ALL KNOWN FOR FRAUDING MILLIONS OF CUSTOMERS HERE ON ASC AS WELL AS ALL OVER THE WORLD. THINK THEM AS BEING WORSE THEN THE DEVIL. Also you CANNOT CANNOT CANNOT import, bring over, or get shipped over any guns from outside of Canada, UNLESS you have a Prohibated Gun License. You can google more on that and ASC about why you can't. I think I covered most things, I hope. Any questions, FAQ and search bar check them before posting ;) |

2) Highly dependant on field but paintball venues stipulates ASTM approved goggles. Now whether or not they will allow the mask part vs no mask part is a different question (some do others don't). If you have a mask ideally it would be one of those "modular" ones with removable panels so you can customise it. 3) Hop up is a rubber nub that puts backspin on the BB so that it can get further range. It basically works because of the Magnus effect or something (put backspin on the BB because the BB passes the rubber nub and gets squeezed). |

a link would be cool |
Sorry that's where our help ends.
It's forum rules to not assist unverified members (even if they're 18+) on external websites to buy from. You'll have to find them on your own. It's not hard or anything you just need to lurk a bit and do a bit more work to finding them. |

iam 28 and not getting any were with it i would have to travel 3 hours at lest to go get verified |
To answer your question, do not buy from Shootsoft.ca, it's like giving your money to someone on the street...you'll NEVER get your item from them...
Buyairsoft is known to have a better reputation now, but you could indeed find slightly better deals here on the forum.... There's also Capitalairsoft, Velocityarms, and chix airsoft which are also good retailers.... PS: To the other flaming forum vets, C'mon guys, this is Canada, a free and capitalism country, he has the right to shop where he wants.... ;) PPS: Welcome to the great world of airsoft! :P |

and dont really like buying used why do we need to be verifed for airsoft and not paintball?(iam new to airsoft havent play a game put shot some for a few sec when i droped by the paintball field ) |

Also with paintball the guns really don't look like replicas where as in airsoft they are replicas. |

Paintball has been around for a longer time, and it doesnt really look like a real gun = you couldnt rob a bank with one... ppl would laugh at you... btu with an airsoft gun, they look really real, and could be also used in criminal situations.... |

do you know what it takes to become an age verifier after i get age verified or can i do both at the same time get my age verified and be verified to verifier player age theres no one in the west kootenays to verify players Quote:

PS: dont get the sniper rifle if you plan on gaming with it... they are good backyard plinkers though.... |

As for becoming an AVer yourself, well I think you need to be an established member of the community and well known on the site. A staff member would be able to answer that better though. |
Uzigon
Nelson, BC ? If you go to Forum Leaders which can be selected at the bottom of the main forum page, you will find a list of all the verifiers along with mods, retailers, etc. |

Click the Forums link in the main black option bars (Beside home and classifieds) Now scroll down to the bottom of the page till you see View all as Read or something like that, and beside it should be View Forum Leaders. Click that and scroll down the page till you see Verifiers. They are all categorized alphabetically now, so just run through all them till you can find one close to you. I found Uzigon in Nelson. Thats the best I could find for you :p |
I'd say find a few of the verifiers, chat with them here then plan a trip to either Kelowna or Calgary to meet up. Kelowna is closer but there aren't that many games going on right now. Calgary you should be able to find something going on over the winter and see the gear first hand. Other potential spots could be Kamloops or Penticton.
Other random thoughts, best mask now seems to the be Russian mesh ones, there's a spot in Calgary that sells those too but I don't know if he has a storefront or if it's all online. BBs get their range/lift from Bernoulli's Principle. |
thank
found a guy the guy in nelson and pm him just got to wait
thanks a lot |
Electric Gun,Gas Gun,spring gun
i know some thoughts on spring gun
but what about electric gun vs gas guns iam just making sure i have a good idea witch type of gun to go for when i go for my airsoft gun ive started to sell all my paintball gear as of yesterday and what the deal with the size of airsoft round you use there is a couple of different sizes 0.20g 0.25g 0.28g 0.30g what kind is better and do you have to change your barrel to use different sizes of BBs |
Those are weights, not sizes. They are all 6mm. Except for a few rarer guns which shoot 8mm.

Keep in mind that in airsoft we have power limits as opposed speed to limits.
Therefore when you see posted speed limits they're measured using .20 gram as the standard. I suggest at minimum .25 gram for outdoor play if not .28. As for indoor play .20 is fine and in fact probably safer since engagement distances are so short anyways. Heavier BB's will slow down the speed of the projectile but will still carry the same muzzle energy. Also no.... there aren't "barrel inserts" to make the bore of the barrel smaller rather the barrel is manufactured to a standard (ie. 6.08 mm, 6.04mm, 6.03mm, 6.01mm). For that you're looking for consistency of the "straightness" of the barrel rather than getting the tightest bore you can. Don't buy a POS 6.01 barrel if it's kinked to hell since it won't be an upgrade, and will impart weird flight paths to the BB anyways. As for electric vs gas. If you're talking about GBBR's (Gas Blow Back Rifles) it's best to avoid them and get an AEG (Automatic Electric Gun) due to much needed upgrades (we're talking like "$$$$" worth of upgrades) and tuning except for the KJW one which is gamable out of the box and very agreeable for the wallet pricewise. I'd still say to, start with a mid-quiality AEG then when you want to have some fun and don't care about costs then migrate to a GBBR since at least if it breaks down midway through the day you have a backup. Note that AEG's aren't problem free either but they're a "proven technology" and I have the belief that they're less prone to breaking down (if you get a mid-quality gun, low quality ones might last 50 rounds or 500,000+ rounds it's really a gamble so try and aim for something mid quality and in the 400-450+ range at minimum). EDIT: Also sorry about not being able to point you as to where to get guns but I don't want to get infracted as it's against community rules to tell unverified members where to get guns. We can only answer any other questions you have, but it's not like it's hard to find them yourself it's just a bit more work, research, and lurking that you have to do. |
ya iam crazy

do they hit lighter when dealing in a lighter round a paintball round weight is around 3.2grams |

But some may let you get away with ballistic glasses. Others may require full masks. My rule of thumb is sealing goggles for open areas and if it is CQB madness, go with the full mask. (as you may experience sudden short range combat) |
OK.....
You know how in paintball limits are usually like 250-300 FPS.... Well it's mainly because of the energy that the paintball has. That is why we can play with 400 FPS outdoors (using .20 gram BB's) because it's a lighter projectile being shot and to achieve the same energy it needs more speed. Now that's out of the way, if you do the math and note that a paintball has significantly more energy then you're right. BUT there is the point of the paintball actually breaking and losing a lot of the energy on impact (momentum loss through destruction), whereas an airsoft BB is a rigid object. SO what does a heavier projectile do for you if all it does is slow down the speed? Well.... It will do 3 things. First increase your EFFECTIVE RANGE, second decrease your TOTAL/OVERALL range, and third make the BB more "accurate/precise" due to a heavier object needing more force acting on it in order to deflect it to a different flight vector. Now why does it increase effective range but decrease overall range? Think about it this way. If you had 3 baseballs of different weights, lets say 3 oz., 5 oz., and 7 oz. You throw each of them in succession with the same energy/effort at a plywood target on the other end of the field or something. You're aiming true and not correcting for anything and there's a light squall/gust crosswind. You'll find the 3 oz one although you can throw it faster is more affected by the crosswind than the others. The 5 oz one is slower but because it has more mass is less affected by the crosswind and 7 oz least affected. Now about ranges.... You agree that the lighter an object is the more velocity it has and therefore can travel further before gravity (a "9.81 m/s" pull downwards to the ground) will bring it down to the ground. So ignoring accuracy/precision you try to throw the objects as far as you possibly can, you'll find that the lighter one will go furthest but also by the end of the flightpath go in crazy directions because of the crosswind, same with the heavier ones the 5 oz one will go further than the 7 oz totally but then it will go in a crazy direction. I know it's a big wall of text but I hope this analogy helps. |
