DIY 'Nade launcher

im going to be making a DIY nade launcher. progress will be posted here, but first i have a question: the madbull 40mm shells, are they 40mm or just fit in a 40mm tube? thanks guys. progress soon.

AngelusNex December 15th, 2010 16:23

They fit in a 40 mm tube and are 37mm wide (madbull only) IIRC

iballBRODY December 15th, 2010 16:54

ive seen it done with a caulking gun and pvc pipe

Shell Shock December 15th, 2010 18:12

ha ah! dead on the nail iballBRODY! minus the caulking gun. this will have a proper trigger system and all ^_^. though the fact that they fit in a 40mm pipe is just what i wanted to hear! woot woot! stage 2 started. autoCAD time!

looks easy enough
i think you have to sand it a bit, but if your using autoCad that your peachy

iballBRODY December 17th, 2010 20:19

yeah but god damned heavy too ! that one is lighter (the krispies one) and looks great too

iballBRODY December 18th, 2010 19:08

if you had a CNC machine advailabe you could do it out of aluminiun, would be light, durable, and would look hell of a lot better than pvc

well then, with my computer in flames, my internet crapping out and 3d autocad not working, i have resorted to a really advanced graphics program. paint. her is my concept

iballBRODY December 28th, 2010 20:09

but will you be able to get enough power to fire the damn thing apparently you have to pull at like 15 pounds or something

Strelok December 28th, 2010 22:22

That trigger is simular to what I had tried a while back. What is simpler, however, is to make the trigger a simple lever. Less moving parts is more, essentially.

I made a shotgun for those madbull shells a while back. I dont have photos of it, but I do have some 'technical drawings'.

Here.

And here is a mockup I had done using a crimp pin

Bang.

Less moving parts, and a better means of delivering the 'force' required to shoot off a shell.

Simpler is Better tbh

Shell Shock December 29th, 2010 00:58

*face palm* hh figures i overcomplicated it. actually this method can pull quite a hefty trigger pull.

much thanks to strelok. if its all good with you, i think im going to steal your idea.

Strelok December 29th, 2010 01:25

By all means :). Ideas are ideas, its not like i patented it or anything like that
