To be honest, since it's possible to get real ones for ~15$ I wouldn't consider fakes unless they are reflective to visible light.
If they are actually IR and just for sale on your website/store, OK... awesome. But made in China and available in large quantity to anyone with the money, well... I can't say I'd like this idea simply for security reasons. If they're dummies, for max 5$ a pair they'd need the honeycomb pattern visible else I'm better printing them and adding velcro for about 0,50$/patch. But that's just my opinion. |
Found the tan version on the site. thanks!

Real CF ir flags have X stitching from corner to corner. I'll show you a picture soon.
Also there is no tan CF IR flag issued ~Infidel |
These are really IR, yes, but I don't know if they're the same as issued.

Lot of guys also purchase their own IR flags as well. Same ones as posted above green and black as well as tan and black. There's also some variations with the stitching for the issue ones, some like Infidels and others that are stitched like an X going corner to corner

We found, after some time in the direct Sun and heat, that the IR flags would separate from the velcro underneath. The X stitching or box has been added to stop that. There will be a lot of variation between flags as they were done by various LN contract or by Mat Tech when they had time (almost never). This is also how the arm pockets on the CF combats w/ velcro are done as well by LN civilian contract. There will be a lot of variation to quality of materials and the work.
IR IFF patches are dependent on the units. There is some variation, due to supply, mission and CoC. My last gig, we were issued a mix of tan/black and green/black IR national flags as well as unit IFF patches. UNIT IFF patches should not be posted on ASC....OPSEC. |
There are two sizes of IR flags; the large ones (as posted by infidel) have the X-in-a-box stitching, while the shoulder patch ones (fits the velcro patch that TW combats have) don't have the stitching. I have examples of both around here somewhere...
