Motor smoking????

What is wrong with my gun

Strelok April 24th, 2011 20:30

Your motor gnomes spontaneously combusted.

Nah, sounds like you burnt out your motor dude.

Amos April 24th, 2011 20:31

I'm gonna guess you're motor's smoking. That's a problem with a gun.

(in all seriousness there's a wiring problem)

R.I.T.Z April 24th, 2011 20:32

stop using it immediately
remove from gun
find new motor
use old motor as paper weight

how old is the gun?
how many rounds has the gun shot?
what fps is the gun running?
how often is full auto used?

Mitchell12 April 24th, 2011 20:43

Did the gun STOP working then smoke when you held the trigger? or is it still functioning while smoking a doobie?

BearJew April 24th, 2011 20:48

The guns not old I have had it for a few months, I didn't use full auto alot, its shots 350fps, maybe 5000 rounds, umm i did drop in a systema gear box but im still using the same spring tho.

R.I.T.Z April 24th, 2011 20:49

brand ?

BearJew April 24th, 2011 20:51

classic army m4 sportline

R.I.T.Z April 24th, 2011 20:54

maybe it was just time for the motor to go..

was the motor itself smoking or was it the gearbox?

because i'd check your wiring (could have melted)

BearJew April 24th, 2011 20:55

I was playing a game the gun stop working then It just started working and did the same thing a few hours later and then just saw smoke coming out of the hand grip( at the bottom)

the wires inside the mechbox right were the pinion gear is (if not seated properly) can get chewed up, check those, if they are fine (still have the insulation on them) then its your motor and you need a new one.

BearJew April 24th, 2011 20:59

k thanks

Mitchell12 April 24th, 2011 21:05

Sounds like a short circuit to me. Shouldn't be a big problem at all if you can reattach your wires correctly and cover up or replace and exposed wire.

Strelok April 24th, 2011 21:14

Honestly. I'm not surprised.

A freind and I used M4 Sportslines from Classic army, and they were the embodiment of pure shit. The piston guide rails ended up somehow bending out of place on my freinds gearbox, and my own gearbox couldn't seat bearings properly.

Either way, they were a failure in the waiting.

Think of the motor gnomes!

Motor smoking is bad for your health..

If you must smoke motor, try not to inhale

Funker-Tactical April 24th, 2011 21:42

I had a classic army motor go in my metal m4 a couple years ago did the same thing as yours an about the same time frame and amount of bbs through it replaced it with a tm and never had another problem with it

mboricgs April 27th, 2012 14:34

I bought ARMY l85 and the smoke comming out and it is very hot at the stock. The gun is new, I have not fired a single bb from it, I have ordered it from wgc. Is it a motor problem or what?

Curo April 27th, 2012 14:45

Could also be bad wiring. (to Mboricgs)

mboricgs April 27th, 2012 14:50

What should I do? It is brand new gun.

I would start with disconnecting the battery

then I would contact the seller for an exchange

Curo April 27th, 2012 14:56

Also connectors. I had Tamiya or Mini type fail on one of my guns. You should switch them, problem gun or not switch to deans, XT60 or other connector.

I have been using Tamiya connectors since the very 1st TM I have yet to see a switch burned, the only time I see it burned was when it was improperly assembled, shitty wiring or too much current going through. I use tamiya connectors on all my guns now with LiPo

To the OP you have a short for sure, I've seen guys with those vented motor plate shorted out their motor because of moisture getting in

mboricgs April 27th, 2012 15:16

I have fixed the problem with smoke, the wire were touching gearbox. But now, the gun is working, then stops. And I open it again, it work, and stops, again and again..

Brian McIlmoyle April 27th, 2012 15:18

Crap wire, loose connection..

mboricgs April 27th, 2012 15:23

How to fix that?

if this is a new gun why are you doing this , why not take it back?

it's pretty clear it is a flawed product

mboricgs April 27th, 2012 15:40

Because I live in Croatia (Europe), and WGC shop is in Hong Kong.

dodgetheram April 27th, 2012 18:46

check you tube dude I'm sure you will find something

ThunderCactus April 27th, 2012 19:14

I think it might be your motor! lol

But seriously, you may have a bent armature on your motor, it's not uncommon. You may just need a new motor

TANKMAN April 27th, 2012 23:43

i say hook up your motor to a battery outside of your gun. then, watch it burn! >:D

Watch the battery go kaboom when the fire from the motor reaches it...
