Deadpool June 1st, 2011 21:31

You just have to find a way to stop him from eating his doggles!

Drake June 1st, 2011 21:34

I need to get doggles for Scout.

And I need to find him a floatation vest that doesn't look ghey.

Edgar can teach him to swin :) (water and mud)

sushicake June 2nd, 2011 16:49

Now if they made one in Yorkie sizes...

5kull June 2nd, 2011 18:31

Needs a helmet to go with the swat vest and the doggles:)
(might consider a nose protector too).

Hmmm maybe not;)

Long_Bong June 3rd, 2011 10:48

Interesting what they are trying to do anyhow:

Latest from the Wars On Stuff: The Register has learned that top-secret, super-elite US Navy SEAL special forces are to deploy heavily armoured bulletproof dogs equipped with infrared nightsight cameras and an "intruder communication system" able to penetrate concrete walls.

as long as they don't attempt what hitler did with dogs, strap a mine to their back and get them to go after tanks...

problem is he had no shermans....

so when released they went after panzers......

Its not so much about swimming as being in the water out in the middle of a lake or something (possibly in adverse conditions if we're in the water).

The Title of the thread does pose a interesting question Does anybody use there dog in Airsoft i actually thought this was a good idea for a split second then though how my dog would like getting shot........Probably not like it at all therefore that would be a No on my part but i have heard of stranger shit.

Drake June 3rd, 2011 17:51

I think the biggest danger, assuming the dog has doggles on, is that if he got shot at close range or something and got hurt/felt attacked, he'd "return fire" -- and the bite would be quite real.

The Russians did this, not the Germans.
They used the Pavlov method; they starved the dogs and hid their food under tractors (+or- same kind of engine used for tanks ), so they'd be used to find their food under a big lousy engine.

As for dogs on the field, IMO it's a bad idea.

It was the Russians, and the main problem was that they taught them to sit under a tank without any guns firing, so the dogs naturally ran toward their handlers when people started firing guns... and exploded.

K-9 working dogs and general airsoft is a bad idea. Dogs can get injured and unless everyone (badguys) had bite suits on someone would get hurt.

K-9 training should be very controled and not implimented in general airsoft skirmish.

I know because I train/trained K-9s, former LEO, and been dealing in airsoft for over 8 years.

Here is my dog...

Long Bong was probably refering to Edgar, who is not very dangerous except for sandwiches in non-supervised backpacks.
