Summer, Late Great Patriotic War (a bit portly for a Soviet conscript I know)

FOR MOTHER RUSSIAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Nice Job Comrade!
|
very shiny and clean for "late war" :P
amazing photos though! |
Getting ready for Red Orchestra 2? :) Great loadout. I am jealous.
EDIT: Is that canvas bag russian? I have one in my closet and I've been using it for my allied impression, if it's Russian I shouldn't be! |
Looks like a US M1 Ammunition Bag.
|
Another home run for Beastor! Well done, sir.

Easy enough mistake, they are similar in size and cut (although the soviet satchel is far simpler construction with a single button holding the flap down rather than the metal clasp on the M1) M1 satchel: http://i648.photobucket.com/albums/u...mmo20Bag20.jpg Soviet Gas mask satchel: http://i648.photobucket.com/albums/u...mask-bag-b.jpg |

I should have asked, where'd you pick up everything? Mostly all one place? Repo's?
|
made some, such as ppsh drum pouch, gymnasterka soldiers shirt, early war y strap for equipment belt, rifle and ppsh sling, made own helmet from fibre-glas, own back-pack (big sack with shoulder straps!!)
altered others items to work/look right.......leather waist belt, gas mask /haversack bag, and what ever else that was beyond my boy-scout baDGE ABILITY, I found on ebay or at gunshows, or from other members as used. ( russian trousers, leggings , jackboots, poncho /plascha , wedge hat-pilotka ) thats my story and applies to my ww2 german gear as well. from don |
