p90 mags compatibility
Hello guys! First of all i have to say that i searched, re-searched, digged, explored, and havent found a REAL answer to my question, what i think is pertinent.
Anyone experienced with p-90 can tell me which mags fits with which gun? Im on the way to buy an echo1 p90, and the only low-cap mags that i find are on buyairsoft.ca, and they are TM :banghead: Would they fit in my echo-1? And would the echo-1 mags fit in a CA p-90?? Tks for responses, and excuse my english, im french canadian! |
ALL P90 mags are compatible with all P90s, whether it is a CA, Echo1, TM etc
That includes, low, mid and high caps. |
THANK YOU! Thats what i wanted to hear....or read....:D Aniway, tks alot, and it might help some noobs like me in the future!!
|
ugh well yes.. but..
The TM high caps are the only ones worth buying. the rest are garbage. as for brands. buy the guns same brand or higher. they all fit but... you know :) As for mid caps worth buying. Mag brand are the ONLY brand I will recomend. every other kind me and my team mate have used were crap. spend the few bucks more and buy mag brand. Or TM high caps. Or go home :) |
I have used both TM High Caps and Mag Midcaps, both gave me feeding issues.
Only success I had on the Midcap level was Silverbacks and AGM. If you insist on High Caps, I still suggest TM. But for me Low Caps all the way, have 8 and none of them have failed me yet. Keep in mind, it is hit and miss. Different for every player. |
avoid proarms P90 mid cap mags like the plague.
;) |
I use TM and echo1 standard mags in my echo1 P90. Both feed fine, though the TM ones look way better.
|
Yeah i will probably bo with the TM ones, those are the only one i found i can buy on the net.

I picked up a pair of pro arms mid caps, I have 8 mag midcaps, 2 AABB low caps, 2 echo 1 low caps, 1 TM low cap, 2 TM highcaps and 1 CA highcap.
With the exception of the AABBs, all my lowcaps and TM highcaps are old and used, so I'm not sure if it's an issue with TM highcaps, or my frankengun TM p90, but the TM highcaps don't feed for shit. They all creak a bit when you twist them. The lowcaps seem to be fine, the AABBs are at such a ridiculously low price, you can find them from one of the vendors here, I think they're about 18 bucks. They do the job, but they don't have a BB follower in the spring, so the last BB might get stuck without feeding. the TM has the least amount of noise and has the best fit and finish, the most consistent looking clear plastic and all the bells and whistles like fake follower spring for the fake rounds. E1 lowcaps creak a bit, both of mine were ripped apart by the previous owner to fix something, not sure what, but there's hotglue all over the inside. MAG midcaps, they feed fine in the CAp90, and I'm in the middle of trying to fix a major issue with my TMp90 but I think they feed alright when the gun wants to work. The finish is nice and consistent, you can see through the mags reasonably well to see how many BBs are left... the follower springs are SUPER strong, might be why they cause misfeeds. the ProArms mags I have... they feed... but the plastic is so cheap, parts are smoother than others, parts are more transparent than others... don't use them in a photo op. :P I should also add that the weakpoint on all the mags seem to be the end cap that sits on the end of the mag that has 4 feet on it that guides it into the gun... these things are cheap as shit and poorly designed, dropping a mag or even bumping it or putting strong force on it will break one of the feet, and these 4 feet also keep it secured to the mag. Gluing them results in being unable to open up the mag for maintenance if you need to open it. |
Thank you so much for help everyone, really helps for a beginner like me cause i never handled a p-90, and infos on the net are sometimes unclear, if theres any infos...
I have another question that me and my friend wer'nt sure about yesterday: would a p-90 mag fit into a mp5 holster??? |
no, you need specific p90 mag pouches, they are much wider than mp5 mags. Condor and pantac make some, as well as thevestguy.com ESKI also makes some you can get from toronto airsoft. ESKI stuff is probably the highest quality for the price.

MAG midcaps are very fragile, in a box of 5 that i received 3 of the end peices where broken and the other 2 broke a little while later, they also misfeed quite often dispite my spraying lubricant in them. Like Najohn i'm considering getting silverbacks, i like the look of lowcaps but unless the ohter people on the field are using lowcaps as well then i don't see the point of giving myself a disadvantage.
|
My box of MAG midcaps also bore broken end plates, the vendor was outstanding enough to send me a whole new box o_o that's why I have 8.
|
Wierd all of mine came in okay. I wish someone made a 140 rnd mag with the fake rounds though :)
|
In my experience MAG midcaps are absolute shit, they were the only brand out of Silverback and Pro arms that didn't feed. Also don't buy high caps, they are quite terrible in P90s since you can't wind them out w/o taking them out of the gun.

P90 midcaps
I believe I read on another american airsoft forum that the TM p90, Echo1, and CA P90 are not 100% compatible per se. The dimensions are actually slightly off which causes misfeeds depending on the brand.
The Mag brand of P90 mags works best with the TM P90 and I am told they work decently on the CA P90. I do not have a CA P90 so I cannot confirm. I do have a box of 4 MAG P90 mid caps that I use on my TM P90 and they feed perfectly every time, I've shot over 2000+ rounds since getting them and zero issue so far, the MAG P90 mid caps actually come lubed out of the factory. I took one apart to lube it but saw that it already had lube along the mag well as well as on the end piece. I heard that the MAG brand has very serious feeding problems when put on an Echo1 P90 because the Echo1 P90 is a rebrand of the Jing Gong P90 which didn't clone the TM P90 exactly in terms of dimensions and so as a result there are misfeed issues. It seems the Pro arms or Silverback brands are better suited for the Echo1 P90 or just buy the echo1 mags. And yes like everyone else has already mentioned P90 high caps suck even the TM ones although I did see a mod that you can do to make them better, please see below link: Tokyo Marui p90 High Cap Mag Fix (Improvement) - YouTube just my 2 cents |

Also AFAIK the E1 P90 isn't a JG -JG never made a P90. |
Echo1 is virtually a clone of TM, not JG....
Anyways KA's mid-cap and high-caps just hit the market. A lot cheaper the MAGs, hopefully they perform a lot better |
Re: Echo1
Ummm as far as I know Echo1 most of their guns like the M4, G3 are JG rebrands and their AK's are CYMA rebrands, the P90 could be a JG/KS/Kart rebrand people have taken apart Echo1's and have found JG and or CYMA parts/serial numbers in them. Speculation is even if they aren't JG's per se, JG and Echo 1 use the same OEM in China. The point is this Echo1 does not do any R&D or really manufacture anything per se, even their high end XCR is OEM'ed by VFC.
And yes JG does make P90's, please see links below: http://www.airsplat.com/Items/ERM-JG-P90-TR.htm First Thoughts on my New JG P90 AEG airsoft gun - YouTube JG P90 TR - YouTube Also see the below links about Echo 1 http://airsoftpacific.com/viewtopic.php?t=11734 http://www.airsoftforum.com/board/lo...p/t216051.html |

Pretty much goes Marui > KS > Echo1 All P90's made by JG, Kart, ACM Eaiming, etc are cloned off the KS as well, however are cheaply manufactured. |
