I,m almost out of resources searching online to order batteries,namely a couple of 9.6 2000mah for the m4 handguard..the ones i did find were out of stock,or way too damn expensive,plus shipping..any directions?

Hobbyking has "Airsoft" lipos for really cheap and they're actually really good quality too. It's the Turnigy Nanotech ones. Whatever style you want they probably have a shape for. Especially for the stock M4 handguards, you could get away with a butterfly/nunchuck 7.4V easily. Also note that you need a special charger for the lipo, the cheapo $10 Turnigy chargers will do the trick. If not the Imax B6 is $25 but you'll need to buy a power supply to go with it.

If you're paying more than $15 for any battery you're getting ripped off. And there's zero reason to stick with outdated NiMH or NiCD batteries nowadays. Lipos are smaller, lighter, provide more power and give more consistent performance throughout its voltage range. They're also more temperature resistant, don't have battery memory power degradation problems. With today's chargers, lipos are dead easy to maintain.

With the Turnigy Nanotech batteries I can charge them at up to 5C (I don't always). With my dual charger setup, I can charge all 6 of my batteries for a game from storage to full in under an hour.

There's an AUTHENTIC Imax B6 on sale on the Classifieds right now. The one that Airsoftparts sells is apparently not authentic. . .

There's nothing wrong with NiMH batteries, they're perfect for stock guns that don't have the provisions for SAFELY running LiPo batteries. And you can really mistreat them and they'll still work fine.

LiPo's are dirt cheap, but you have to spend $80-$120 extra over NiMH to be able to run them 100% safely. So unless you buy a LOT of batteries, it's not a better financial solution, just a higher performance one.

As far as I know, there are hologram stickers on the bottom of the unit. A google search will turn up some good info.

I think the definition of "stock guns" has evolved somewhat over the years. Stock guns used to be Marui 280fps guns that would run fine on NiCD and NiMH, but today's stock gun such as the King Arms M4 has sub-par performance with the same battery where a 7.4V lipo would be appropriate. I was always a bit put off by the fact that I had to deep cycle NiMH's once in a while to get them back up to full capacity - a process which could take hours depending on the size of the cells. Maybe I just had shitty batteries (tried Sanyo and Intellect cells)

I used to think the startup costs of lipo was expensive as well, but AFAIK, you only need a quality charger (Imax B6AC for $60 as mentioned previously), lipo monitor and lipo sack are completely optional. The cheap Turnigy chargers run about $20 or so. I think the $80-$120 premium over a comparable NiMH setup is over-inflated, especially since most computerized lipo chargers can charge all types of batteries.

That comes to $33 + cost of lipos themselves ($10-$20 at Hobby king). This alone costs way less than some NIMH battery packs that are bulkier and will perform worse! For best results you'll want a MOSFET which will protect your trigger contacts and increase efficiency and performance.These starts as low as $25 for a basic non AB fet + $5 flat shipping. http://www.hhairsoft.com/Products/Cu...FET_Units.html These are very high quality US made MOSFETs with DEANs silicon wiring. So in total it'll cost you less than $70 for an ideal lipo setup. For whatever crazy reason you end up not liking lipos, you'll still have a universal charger that'll charge all airsoft batteries and a MOSFET which is good in any setup. Don't be shy and take the plunge and I'll promise you won't regret it!

But if you don't have the means to install a MOSFET switch in your AEG, are very cheap, only buy wall chargers, and still think systema magnums are good motors, then NiMH is definitely a superior choice to LiPo lol

Having a squad mate pull off his stock at a game because he smelt something burning, to his surprise flames came out of the buffer tube! Well that turned me off of lipo's for the foreseeable future! NIMH are nice.

You plug them in, wait for the light to turn green, pop them into the gun. The gun then goes pew pew pew. Even if you treat them like crap, just pick up a new one every year and you'll have more than enough batteries to last 24hours or even longer.

with NIMH there's no dealing with fireproof bags, mosfets, having a possible explosive component up against your cheek etc etc.

If you want a PITA go GBBR instead of lipos!

Your argument is invalid, I've seen more NiMH batteries catch fire than LiPos lol
There's only 2 things that can cause a LiPo to explode when hooked up to your gun;
1) It gets pierced
2) There's a short in the wiring/motor and causes way too much amperage draw from the LiPo. This will also set an NiMH on fire.

Any other damage to the pack only causes it to fail when charging

Take one of your nimh and directly short it. See what happens.

I corrected that for you. You also know that installing a MOSFET will benefit all aeg setups, not just the lipo powered ones right? Even 8.4v NiMH batteries will cause your trigger contacts to arc and wear out faster. Sure some people will not care and would rather constantly replace their trigger contacts. I'd rather not and would rather get every drop of performance and efficiency from my aegs.

Just don't buy anything outside of hobbyking that's labelled "for airsoft use", that usually means it's a $10 battery marked up %400 for airsofters lol
