Goggles & Shields - Asian Face Specific Options and Updates
I need to update some of my eyepro. I've gone through some of the old threads and new threads...and am still looking for some info.
Eyepro as it pertains to both full seal goggles and shields...I use both depending on the field/players/conditions/etc... Criteria - must be asian face friendly...particularly with the gap around the bridge of the nose - must be able to decently vent when on the move...and/or have excellent fog clearing abilities (I use Fogtech anyways) - must be optic friendly (i.e. magnified rifle optics, monoculars/binoculars, NVG, etc..) - must be ballistic - do not have to have RX inserts or be able to support glasses While there are plenty of threads asking about goggles for glasses or asian fit stuff....there isn't a lot of recent/up-to-date info on options out there, nor is there much follow up on what those guys went with and how it worked out. I did catch the recent Boogie Regulator thread and saw it noted that it's not asian friendly...so that's cool. I've been running a few pairs of T800...but the big gap between the lense and frame has always been a concern, and the amount of force I need to tighten them up to close up the nose bridge gap is just plain uncomfortable. I've run ESS I've been taking a look at the: ESS Asian Fit Profile (and turbofan models)...and ESS Asian Fit Striker models (the cortex clip looks very ghey...not doing that) Smith Lopro Regulator Goggles (although they don't look very asian nose friendly) WileyX Spear goggles...again not sure about the asian fit So...to those asian guys who are running fairly current eyepro...what's worked, what hasn't? If you had to buy another pair right now...what would they be. |
Tys,
I used to ran Bolles as well, as you mentioned, they leave huge gaps all over the place. After few years of using them had a BB go through the gap over the nose, hit me in the eye. Freaked me right out. Got a set of Asian ESS Profiles. They fit well and so far no problems, got to remove foam from the top of goggles or they fog up like MoFo. I heard very good things about fan version. I am thinking about getting those for next season. Eye shields. Have WileyX Talons - don't fit well at all. Look neat and are good for range (I have RX insert in them), but as far as filed goes I am sticking with full seal. Tried Peltors and few others. There is not much available as far as eye shields go. I found that an adjustable nose piece is a must for me or things just slide off. |
I got a new pair of goggles last week: ESS Advancer V12.
They're not asian-fit specific, but what I did was take a blowdryer to the bridge area, and flattened the goggle with some weight on it after it was sufficiently warm. The end result was a very well-fitting goggle that had zero gap all around my face and was extremely comfortable to wear for an 8 hour skirm. It does tend to move a little bit when acquiring a cheekweld due to the rubber used and sometimes my face gets a bit sweaty/greasy. They are more of a "swim goggle" type so it does sit on your brow and offers very little face protection (LOW PROFILE!), but otherwise I'm VERY happy with them. I got mine as the full kit (sleeve, 3 sets of lenses and carrying bag) off ebay for about $60 shipped. Ghostnote tried them on and liked them as well, but his go-to goggle is the Revision Bullet Ant Asian model. Prior to this I tried a pair of Revision Desert Locusts and the rubber material they used was a bit too hard to reform and was quite uncomfortable. |
I bought Smith optics turbo fans. They had a massive gap at my nose and I actually a bb hit slide up under my eye. Since then I bought the ESS Asian profile strikers and they work well once you remove the top foam so you dont fog up.
|
I have strykers, and their larger size allowed me to install my own fans... the only drawback is that they are larger than the profiles which are nice and slim. I pulled the foam all the way around and installed 2 7x7x3mm fans powered by 2 2xAAA battery packs... could probably run them on 1 pack, but you really don't feel the weight of them when they're strapped to your head.
I have, in a pinch worn my wileyX talons when I forgot to put the strykers back in my kit bag. For my face, the adjustable nose piece is nice, but creates a bit of a gap that an extremely unlucky shot could get through. On a field, it's near impossible, you would probably get a shot from behind sneaking the gap between your face and glasses before you get a shot from the front between gap and nose. I would however not use these indoors, ever. I'm interested in trying the fit of the asian fit oakley lineup, but I can't find a vendor that stocks them to try, I'd love to have a set of radars instead of these talons. |
Awesome thanks guys...
I've got a half dozen pairs of glasses/shields at home...and only one fits well. So: ESS Asian Fit Profile (pull foam for venting) + + ESS Profile (Can take Asian lenses) + ESS Asian Fit Striker (pull foam) ++ ESS Asian Coretex Clip Goggle (full seal with mask...cortex clip can be added to reg profile goggles) + Smith optics Turbo Fan - Bolle T800 - ESS Advancers V12 (reheat) + Revision Bullet Ant Asian fit (may not have enough airflow) + - Revision Desert Locusts (I had these too and the curvature just wasn't right) - WileyX Talons - - |
I have always had trouble with finding goggles that fit properly; not every Asian-fit goggle fits every Asian. The ESS profile series has a rubber frame so the curvature of the lens dictates the type of fit (Asian/normal). Similarly, the Revision Bullet Ants have a rubber frame and since there is a separate lens for each eye, the goggle conforms to the majority of faces. They have no designated Asian-fit Bullet Ant. Currently the Bullet Ants are my go to goggle.
|
The Cortex Clip Goggles, when paired with a mesh faceguard, provide a good seal. You just have to be very specific with the order in which you put things on, as I've found. The Cortex leaves a MASSIVE gap in front of the nose if you don't do a faceguard, however.
|
Tyson,
I use the ESS Striker Asian Fit goggles. Of all the types and brands I have tried these are the ones I recommend (even better then the ESS Profile series). I also wear prescription glasses and I found they fit well under the ESS Striker. I did try turbofan based goggles but even with their air circulation I still had fogging issues. The best technique is to remove the foam enclosure and apply Fogtech! Since I also use NVG's from time to time I also found that the ESS Striker is low profiled enough to allow the monocle to properly positioned in front of my eye. The last point I want to point out is that ESS eyepro always seems to be on the approved eyepro list at games. Less so for other brands so please take that into consideration. Good luck! |

Q. Aren't they just Profile series goggles...but the frame has a "beak" formed into it? I.e. the "Cortex Clip" is actually a different frame? - I think I've seen these...you'd have to take a shot basically straight up your nose to get a BB into your eye, but there was a finger+ amount of gap. Q. I'm not sure what they mean by... "This configuration features the essential Cortex Clip™ pre-attached to an Airsoft-optimized version of the most widely-used military goggle in the world: the ESS Profile NVG"....the bolded part makes me wonder if there's other differences. Although the rest of the specs seem that the lense is the same as the other Profile goggles. Any info on that? Quote:
Excellent point about the approved list stuff. |
Lower mesh face guards are great for sealing the gap between the bridge of the nose and the goggle. They have low quality control so that means you may have to rip off the fabric, cut to conform the curves of the goggle and/or face. After they are fitted, you can get a cheek weld to look down just about any iron sights with the exception of maybe a mp5.
I zip tie the mesh to the goggle. It means less straps around the head and less of a chance bringing up the gun will move the goggles out of place. |
Sorry, I meant WileyX Talons, so 2 - for those.
I would be interested in how Ants handle fogging/condensation. They seem to be very close to the face and, from pictures, there is not much ventilation going on. |
In CQB I do the same with a cut out piece of PB mask zip tied to my goggles...works well. Never had much luck with a mesh one staying in place, aside from the custom one a buddy made for me.
Otherwise I don't use one. Anyways...back to eyepro! @ Berkut Re. the Bullet Ants...I bought a pair for Alfred as a gift and he's used them a little...Jay uses them too. They fog for Alfred, Jay says they're great. Alfred can't get them snug enough to close the nose bridge gap (although I'm going to pass along the heat-'em up thing that Stealth mentioned)...Jay jams them on pretty tight and has a pretty broad asian face. Myself...I fog like a mofo and even with T800's Fogtech is a must do...so whatever I get has to have a lot of airflow. |
basically the cortex clip is just the beak piece that bridges the gap over the nose... They did some extreme testing and count at the perfect angle with perfect velocity, a BB could get inside between the nose and goggle seal, the piece is mainly meant to deflect this shot rather than let it come into that gap.

Tys... asian fit ESS profile turbofans...
http://www.esseyepro.com/Asian-Fit-P...92_detail.html (going on glowing reviews of the turbofans from my guys) |
ess advancer v12s might have been discontinued... last I checked for a pair from ess, they weren't even listed on the site anymore.
they were kinda neat, someone showed them to me at hotbox last year, they sort of pop open at the outsides to open up some gills that vent them... and the plates are close enough together that they don't allow bbs in. |
One thing I want to say....two actually
1) Cortex clip can be purchased seperately, The Airsoft version re just standard ESS w/ the clip 2) The Asian-Fit lens can be purchased seperately, Regular version can use Asian-Fit lens (I have a US Army edition Profile with Asian Fit lens) |
Quote:
I fog like crazy with just about anything I use too. T-800 unless moving 100% of the time or there is a significant breeze. Bullet ants have no ventilation and fog fast but I have only used them at TTAC for a crazy shelledpants firefight night. The revision wipes seem to fend off the fog a little longer on those than fog tech. I have even fogged up my JT's with fog tech treated thermal lenses and a fan on moderately humid days. |
Recently I had the chance to do a quick test fit of quite a few Revision goggles. None of them felt very comfortable despite some of them having quite thick foam on the seal. The curvature was not flat enough for lack of better description and so there was either a large "scratch my eye with my finger" sized gap at the nose or the frame was really digging into my cheekbones if I snugged it down enough to close up any gaps.
I can see how the bullet ant goggles could be "flattened" though. I don't think the others could be modded. I bought a pair of ESS Asian Fit Profile Turbofans. Right off the bat the fit was very comfortable and good seal all around. Just some minor testing in the different temperatures that we're having (5-30C)...no hard field use yet. I can see why guys recommend removing the foam surrounding the frame....I haven't done that yet, nor have I coated the lenses with any fogtech. I'll test as they are out of the box first. The turbo fan is ok. 1x AA battery. They state that it's good for 150hrs on low...and has a 4 hour safety cutoff. I'll test that at the next milsim. On low they are very quiet...there's just a very minor bit of airflow that's most noticeable right between the eyes below the fan. If you're heavily fogged I can't see it clearing the lense without a good stiff breeze to help it along. The high power setting is a bit on the noisy side...and it moves a good bit of air through it. It will clear more fogging pretty quickly. One push to go to low, another to go to high and another to turn it off. I found that I needed to press it enough to go to high and then one more just to know it was off for sure...on low I'd probably not notice it was on. The elastic head band is pretty strong/thick. I found that snugging it up was too tight after a while and that it really didn't need to be snugged up so much. I have not tried it with the various helmets so far. Field of view and up and down viewing is pretty good. Much better than any PB googles I've seen. I did not feel like I had "tunnel vision" nor did I feel like I needed to move my head to see something that I might have missed off the side of view. I wish the cloth slide-over cover was a bit bigger at the openings, or at least on one side. It's a tight fit to get them over the lenses and I'm sure I'm going to tear it. This weekend's milsim will be a good first field test. 24hrs in fall weather...temps are supposed to be between 5 and 15C. If there's any issues I'll post them up. Thanks to all who had recommendations. |

I've tried the ESS Profile NVG in the past, and it left a massive gap at my nose bridge. No good. Glad to see these Asian fit ones now exist - I have not revisited this hunt for Asian fit goggles in a while. Is there a good Canadian source that stocks these? For shields, I've personally been running a pair of Oakley Radar Path Asian Fit - they really do fit better than the standard model, as it closes up the gap at the nose, around the cheek, and around the eyes, while keeping the lens and frame off your face as much as possible. I only wish Oakley made tactical goggles in Asian fit - I've worn their Asian fit snow goggles for years, and swear by them. |
Tyson,
Add a +1 for the Asian profile turbofans. Those are my go to goggles, I wear the Oakley M frame glasses, ESS ICE 2.4 for shooting and sometimes on the field as well with good success. I had a pair of Advancers, I was too lazy to use a heat gun to mold them, but I ended up losing them on a field anyways. Out of the box Not asian fit. As you noted you can convert any ESS goggle from 'normal" fit to Asian fit by inserting the asian fit lenses into them. They have nose pieces for some of the other brands to convert them to asian fit as well. Didn't like fit and comfort of revisions My preferred sunglasses are Oakley Asian fit half jackets but I wish Oakley made low profile tactical goggles. |
hey illusion, where can I find asian fit oakleys to try? nobody has any in ottawa and the radars were on my to try list.
I had tried the large size revision sawfly and it really didn't fit my face. Either the lens rested on my cheeks and left a huge gap at the nose, or the idiot strap tightened down and closed off all the gaps basically sealing them into my face. Just sitting still like that was enough to fog them in the summer. :P I don't know of a place in canada that stocks ESS, but I got my asian fit strykers from safetyglassestoday.com in cali... they shipped via usps. |
ESS V-12s are definitely NOT asian-face friendly.
Revision Desert Locust Asian's are perfect with contact lenses definitely wish that Oakley made tactical goggles =S lurkingknight, look for a sunglasses store that does the Oakley Custom fit program. I love my Asian Fit Half Jackets (very very beat up now) and I just got a pair of Asian Fit Radarlocks that are awesome. they key thing that Oakley doesn't want you to know, however, is that the "asian fit" models are really the same thing with an optional larger nosepad. so don't be afraid to try the "white people" models :p |
The Oakley Asian fit Radar Pitch are really good. Fit my face extremely well, wrap around, follow cheekbone contours well, etc. The nose pieces fill the gap there well. Coverage is as good or better than a nice pair of shooting glasses...they are almost goggles.
The Asian fit flak jackets fit well to. Oddly the Asian fit half jackets dont...they run at my cheeks and just feel a bit too close to my eyes. Neither of them really wrap around the sides enough to use in a game. You can call Oakley and just ask for Asian fit nose pads and ear/temple pads. But there are differences in that the nose pieces that fit the half jackets don't quite fit the flack jackets. CP gear is an ESS dealer. You have to catch them on their order cycles...or wait. I didn't wait and it cost me ~$50 more in total over what CP would have charged. I think they quoted $190 +/- |
hey did you hear about that new thing here in ottawa? wendy's is open late. lol
We have NOTHING here... I called around to some of the oakley dealers in town... they don't have anything asian fit in stock. |

Revision Asian Fit didn't fit me at all, fit my Jamaican brother-in-law though :(
I use these though, out of the 4 goggles I tried, these fit the best. |
What goggle manufacturers need to make are semi flexible goggles that conform to different facial contours. The soft foam will do the final seal.
It seems that asian fit goggles don't fit a lot of asian faces either. |

On a whim, I placed a special order through my optician for a pair of asian fit snow goggles, and I've been buying them from him since. Tried it with the sports glasses as well, and it was a success. Quote:

ESS Profle Asian Fit Turbo Fans
- Sept 29/30...24hr Milsim...Fall weather 4-20C. Sun/Sun-clounds/rain/sun They were worn for extended periods of time. Foam/fit was very comfortable...used with watch cap and baseball hat. They did not shift up/around with movement or action. They felt very planted on my face. Clarity was outstanding...low light/bright light/etc... They are brand new essentially, but they were so clear and distortion free I was tapping my lense more than a couple of times to see that there was actually a lense there. Side to side...and up and down...fields of view were excellent. I did not feel that my peripheral vision was obscured at all...in fact I can't recall even noticing that I had to move my head unnaturally to see something. A buddy with the Advancer glasses noted that he feels like he's looking through tubes/swimming goggles in that your field of view is blocked all around by the frame/foam seal. Minor fog in the top upper corners at one time (standing around early morning after rain all night)...low fan did not clear very well, but may have prevented further/worse fogging...High fan did clear any and all fog. The noise is noticeable on high....I wouldn't have it on high is concealment is a priority. I did not need the fans on at all when you're moving/etc...but I did find it nice to leave them on low. I did not test the autoshut off in the field...since I was cycling through low/high/off as needed. Someone had them on with a helmet (MICH I think)...and noted fogging in his. Noted that the fans worked sort of to clear. I have not applied anything to the lenses yet...I have only wiped them with a cloth to remove dust/material once or twice so far. I'll test more with a Protec A Alpha later...very impressed so far. I had Bolle T800's as a backup...did not even think of touching them. |
The ESS Profile's have been my go to goggles for the past couple of years now. I was using mine for the same OP TYs:) Like yourself I had no problems with comfort, fogging, or movement. The auto shutoff feature kicked in once in the 18 hours I had them on....so that feature does work!!! Lol. I tend to rotate through the fan speeds depending on the enviroment and to kill the fan if I need absolute quiet on patrols or ambushes.
You can get thermal lenses for these which adds another level of fog prevention. You might want consider getting some so you can keep the fan on low most if not all of the time. |
I think I'm a battery miser at heart...I just can't stand leaving something running that long LOL
I'll order a set of the thermal lenses and see how they work out for me...thanks buddy. |
lulz oakley CS fail.
"Hi, I'm looking for something in the asian fit radar line, but I have called all the dealers local to me and none carry stock of that item. I don't want to order something online without trying it in case they don't fit. What do you suggest I do?" "Hi, use our dealer locator to search dealers in your area and call them to see if they have stock." What. the. fuck. |
The only place I've ever seen a store have an asian fit oakley in stock was Pacific Mall (huge asian mall here). No extra nose pieces/lenses...but a couple of different glasses.
Everywhere else has been special/custom order. I've dealt with Oakley 3 times and it's been 100% fast and accurate. All over the phone though. Super quick, knowledgeable, etc... I think the last time I bought glasses I asked what I could do if they didn't fit...IIRC, they said I could return them (I'd have to pay for shipping to them) and get something else. and...I've taken the extra nosepieces that I had (Oakley just threw in 2-3 spares when I bought my last glasses) to a store to swap them onto a couple of different frames to try stuff on. Not always the perfect fit since they have a lot of nose piece shapes, but good enough to get the feel of them. The store was cool with that since I wasn't going to mangle them or anything. |
yeah we have an optometrist at the tnt here in ottawa, I might just drop in to see if they have any oakleys but that's really the only remote possibility here in ottawa for asian fit stuff. I'll be in T. this weekend.. I might have to visit pacmall I need some accessories for my phone... but that place on a regular weekend is bad enough. I hate that parking lot.
I'm tempted to dig up some contact info of importance and raise a big stink about that incompetent answer. When you are charging 300$+ for your product that costs less than 30 to produce, you better have customer service that's on the ball. When I had to get an ergo chair for my back... my local steelcase dealer dicked around on giving me a price since it seemed they rather deal with government contracts rather than 1 home office buyer. I emailed steelcase corporate and asked if there was another dealer in ontario or western quebec that valued 1 home office customer as much as a corporate customer. I had 5 emails and voice mails within an hour from my local dealer. |
sigh.. mini rant incoming.
as an asian, how do you run an optomitrist in an asian mall that has 80% asian patronage and NOT carry the entire asian fit lineup of oakley (if you are dealer) I went through every place that sells oakley in pacmall and not one had asian fit radars.. just the standard ones that wobble all over my face cause I flat face and nose. Also called the oakley store in the eaton center and the trek store (who even lists them on the online store) and neither have them. the EC store said they do have special extra nose pieces but standard frame, but he had a feeling the asian radars were a different frame since the lens selection is different, and the other asian fit stuff had different frames. So either I order them online blind and gamble shipping them back without trying, or I order a set of smith optics asian fit aegis for 1/4 of the price and it comes with 4 lenses and has milspec certifications. |
i got my radar's from the eaton centre store last summer after trying both the asian fit and the regular. the regulars actually fit me better than the asian fit ones. i found the difference between them is that the arms are set wider from that of the regular ones which reduces the tension on the sides of my head but that left the lenses sitting on my cheek bones. the normal arm width allows for some flex to reduce the curvature of the frame and lens a bit. it still takes a bit of fidgeting but once i do i just get a touch of tolerable contact with my cheek bones.

ESS Profle Asian Fit Turbo Fans
- Sept 29/30...24hr Milsim...Fall weather 4-20C. Sun/Sun-clounds/rain/sun Had mine on about 99% of the game, unless i was cleaning the lenses from sweat. I didn't cut the foam from the top so that might have been the issue. Otherwise have them on for the entire 24 hours was pretty good. No issues whatsoever. |
Minor update.
I've been playing around with the ESS Asian Fit Profile Turbo fans with a Protec A-Alpha helmet. With the goggles on they fit very well and are wear for a long time comfortable. They maintain a good seal and don't "stand off" from the face with the strap running on the outside of the helmet (my Bolle T800's kind of do that). I thought the turbo fan would be blocked by the front foam of the helmet...but it isn't. The foam doesn't sit over top nor is it squished down onto the fan...there's sort of a wedge shape gap between the fan/top of goggles and the helmet. So there's still room for airflow. The battery/fan button ended up pretty much right over the right ear...and there's no issues with using it. With a surefire light on the side rails the elastic doesn't really sit well/evenly with the goggles up. I suppose with something else on the other side it'd be even. I can't imagine them staying put under with lots of activity. The rear strap retention clip/strap on the helmet is good though...you won't lose the goggles if they slip off the helmet. So far so good...but I haven't given it enough of a workout to see if the fog clearing ability with this helmet has been compromised. |
Glad to hear this positive review. I just ordered an ESS Turbofan Profile Asian Fit as well. Haven't received it yet, but looking forward to trying it out.
In the past, I used a JT paintball mask with Vortex fan. While it seemed to do the job okay, I found I got pretty bad tunnel vision with it (narrow field of view), and the protruding switch of the fan caused it to frequently get knocked on while being tossed around in my gear bag. More than one occasion, I've shown up at a game, with a dead battery in the fan. This is besides the fact that it's a pain in the ass to have to rip the fan unit off the goggle just to change the battery. Every time I do it, one of the retention hooks weaken a bit, and half of them have already ripped off over the years I've had it. |
you don't have as wide an flat a face as mine illusion, but I've always found ess asian fit goggles to fit me very nicely, so they'll probably fit you well.
My issue is finding shooting/ballistic glasses. Getting my hands on a set of discounted military m-frames today.. stay tuned. :D |
I've tried the regular ESS Profile NVG in the past, and there was a massive gap at the nose. So I'm expecting the Asian Fits to fit well.
|
Aside from inserting a battery when I first got them and pushing the low/high/off button I've done zero fiddling with the fan system. Haven't needed to and it's sat around for weeks inbetween usage. I've had a spare batt in my kit but am going to "just do nothing" until this first battery dies. So far...that's all good in my books.
Like I posted previously...I was very happy about the field of view and absence of tunnel vision that you'd normally get off of PB masks/goggles. Did not notice it. Re. glasses....I've had good luck with Oakleys, Smiths and Remington shooting glasses. I've also found that Browning shooting glasses fit really well. All of those wrap around really well and hug the contours of my face. I wouldn't be able to say what model those were...they were just whatever was on the shelf at the time. A buddy of mine had shooting glasses that he got from Oneshot (they're not listed on their site anymore though)...they could pivot at the temples to adjust the lense angle to the face, which improved airflow and or got the bottom of the lenses off of the cheek bone skin area. I can't remember what they were...but I'll post up if I ask him. |
I have a pair of wiley X talons, and if it weren't for the extreme gap at the nose (cause I have a very flat and small nose) they'd been fine.hope the m frames are better. I konw oakley has different sized nose tabs so hopefully they fit.
edit: m frames fit me a whole lot better than revision sawflys but... nose piece again is too far from my face and it's not really resting on my nose. When pulled tight, the shield starts to make contact with my eyelids. |
Again, Oakley Asian Fit fixed that problem for me.
If I were in your shoes, I'd just order in the ones I want, Asian Fit... and if it STILL doesn't fit your abnormally shaped Asian noggin', I'm sure there are more than a few Asians on this forum who will take them off your hands. |
must get rid of the m-frames first :P
I will go back to the original plan, order the smith optics asian fit aegis kit from wgc when the m-frames are sold. |

Been waiting for this since the regular boogie regulator came out.

That looks neat
|
Just ordered me a pair
|
Let us know how you like it.
|
Just got a pair of Oakley Radar Path. They fit very well! I am pleasantly surprised at this point.
|
Just got my Asian-Fit Boogie Regulators from WGC. They definitely will fix anyone who was having problems with the regular ones fitting properly on the bridge of their noses. Also work really well with mesh lowers. If you run a helmet I highly suggest these.
|
bumping this to update my aegis asian fit from smith optics... it looks like the aegis has been retired, but if you can find a pair of asian fits (if you have a wide head) and if you're like me with a tiny nose; they don't sit right on your nose; the RX insert has an enlarged nose piece you can run without the insert.
With this nose piece on, I finally get 3 proper points of contact with the glasses, and the shield doesn't rest on my brow line or my cheek line. So it's a near perfect fit. |
and again, now that it's bumped, the anti glare or anti scratch coating on my aegis sun lens started flaking off. Smith optics replaced the entire kit for me with the new asian fit aegis arc. Got to love their lifetime warranty.
The frame is a tiny bit flatter and wider, and now the lenses fit my wideass head with tiny nose without the need for the rx carrier nose piece. |
Took the bullet and bought me a Revision Desert Locus Asian Fit with Fan,
Will write up a small review later. So far the quality is freaking amazing. Lol. |
Does anyone here have any experience with Bolle's "new" X810 (successor to the X800) or their X1000 with the thermal lens?
Looking to grab my first pair of goggles and sorta stumbled on them. Was planning on getting a pair of Asian fit Revisions DL as recommended by BioRage or a pair of ESS Asian fit profiles but the lower profile Bolle's interest me a bit. I'm not sure if fitment would be the same as the old X800's which apparently don't fit our asian face's that well according to the info I've gleaned from this thread. Also I was wondering if anyone knew if revision has asian fit thermal lenses. Can't seem to find any and I'm not sure if fitment is lens specific or frame specific. |
smith optics has an asian fit thermal I think. I was debating whether or not to buy their over the wire kit when I went with revisions.
I'm undecided if I like my revision desert locusts. I like the foam that makes contact with your face on the ess. The goggles tend to stay put better when wet, while the rubber mask fit of the revisions tends to shift or drip because the moisture has nowhere to go. |
