I'am looking for a new backpack for school and on the field ! Since I am a poor student I looked at both

Does someone here bought one of theses ? ( my budget was under 70$ ) or anyone have any other interesting backpacks in mind?

I am looking for a Military style backpack I always BRING my laptop + lot Of stuff :p If i understand theses 50$ bags are crap?

I'd stay away from condor, they arent known to be the best quality.

I have this pack. Once you remove the excessively long Nylon adjustment straps (use a scissor and burn the edge off with a lighter) it's a nice, comfy pack with ample of room. Been using mine for over 6 months now. Carry a Mac + waterproof eVent pants + lunch box daily and still with plenty of room to spare.

I heard the Assault Pack in the ILBE set is getting cheap these days.
Not sure about the exact price now, but I had one of that, the quality is good, the design is... You may need some extra MOLLE pouches of you want to carry some small objects.

get a real 5.11 rush 12... they go for 100$~

get those pack, one of the best pack ever, friend has the rush 72 and the quality is very good

How about a normal backpack for school? You know, something without molle that doesn't scream tactical or bring unwanted attention to yourself?

As a further aside, most MEC (mec.ca) packs will be of MUCH higher quality than any asian knockoff tactical shit. And they have a kickass return policy/warranty, perfect for the cash strapped student who can only afford to buy once. Go there.

btw, more on the rush 12, initially I was thinking it was going to be too small for my needs, and aside from being about 2-3 inches too short (can't stuff my p90 into it easily and let's face it guys, who wouldn't want a couple more inches.. eh? eh?)

I can't believe how much stuff I've jammed into it... knee pads, face mask, propane tank, about 6 large bags of BBs, 2 screwdriver sets, my p90 sling harness, shemagh, tactical toilet paper, food, glow sticks, jacket. And it still has space for a 1.5L hydration bladder.

Yep, dirt cheap now. I used one for years until the zippers gave out (they've been upgraded on later production models). It held plenty of books + laptop, but there's not much in the way of organization. If these guys ship international, I'd say definitely worth $35.

You might also check out MOLLE II Assault packs on eBay...woodland, desert, and ACU/UCP versions galore.

Echo what Mike and Horto are saying... You might want to avoid looking like a school shooter dude. If you really can't live without it being a MOLLE pack then at least stay away from black. That seems like it would be the most frightening to people.

You see plenty of Molle bags on campuses. No one's going to flip a bitch over some fabric loops.

I walk all over Toronto on foot wearing either my RUSH 12, 24 or 72. I have them in Black, Sandstone and Multicam.

I think I get more looks with the Multicam than any of the other ones.

Most people don't even know what Molle is. If the bag is OD or CB, it will look like any school backpack.

Saw a girl at a bus stop last week, her backpack was multi-cam with patches on it and......a hydration tube hanging out.

covert 18 was the contender vs my rush12. Only reason I didn't take the covert 18 was that I wanted some external molle to add a few pouches. I also didn't choose multicam for the attention it would have gotten... it's a bit more obnoxious military looking than just a flat color. While regular round peg on the street may not associate molle with guns, they will definitely associate camo to guns.

So males with camo are associated with guns, and girls with multicam are attractive. I see stereotyping here.

agreed. Look at ACU/ UCP camo ones, they're going really cheap because most people hate the camo. The 24h pack is quite good. Avoid the 3 day ruck. It's way too big.

I finnaly bought a ILBE Assault Pack Generation 2 Marpat for 55$ shipped :p Should be enough for me !

Make sure you Guys dont buy from ammocanman they shipped with USP even if I asked with Canada post :/ 17$ brokerage fee

I would be stoked if they shipped me a gun along with my backpack :) (USP)
