"working" AN/PVS-14 replica?
http://www.ebairsoft.com/aabb-functi...le-p-6588.html
Hmmmm...... Prolly a really really cheap sensor, looks like it is using active IR IOT see. |
tempting to get one at that price, and maybe do some comparisons to the real PVS-14
|
dumping $200 on that kinda crap? talking about NVG, you know $200 will get you nothing .
|
is one of those CHEAP CHEAP systems, like the ones in the modern warfare videogame ones, is just a camera with a little lcd screen u will need IR light to make it work...
|
Well if your budget is only $200 I can see why people would get it, but might as well invest in a Yukon NOD instead of that piece of crap.

At least its a step up from the magnifier one some people wear on their head.

What will they think of next? Two of these sensors together?
...oh wait |
huh.... I'd like to get one just too see what it's like but I fear it wouldn't even be worth the $200.
|
You're better off putting that $200.00 towards a NV rifle scope, or a really awesome flashlight. :)
|
bought one for giggles will post pic on arrival

I have a feeling these are going to be the "exact" same thing as the kid's toy I don't remember the name, was advertised by Toys'R'Us a year or a few ago if I recall. But in a different casing.
From the photos, either the guy who took them can't focus, or the "optic" quality if extraordinarily blurry. Not sure I would dip my money in this, but that's me... Quote:
signature and everything. :D |
Its CCD based NV. Just like a video camera. No tube tech.
|
Hey if its like the Sony Nightshot you'll be able to use it to look through clothes; try doing that with a real PVS14 :P

Well at least you're willing to take one for the team.
|
If it is about $100, maybe I will get one just for fun and for the AN/PSV-14 looking. For $200? No.

all joking aside, these would be useless in a night game where there are players using real PVS-14/15 mono/binoculars. (damn you Chris... DAMN YOU!):p you would HAVE to use an IR source to see anything, and so would become the brightest object around. |
