Most Memorable Moment of 2012

Hello fellow airsofters,
Well with the end of 2012 soon here it begs the question, what was your most memorable airsoft moment of 2012?

I will start with my first game with my M60E4 and our recently formed team. Another moment was getting two mercies with that same gun.
How about you?

Oshiha December 21st, 2012 06:16

Non airsoft related: Those dumb 12/21/12 rumors.

Airsoft related: Starting airsoft and going to my first game :P.

Jimski December 21st, 2012 08:06

the Mill burned!

The 'Gaijin Charge' (gaijin means 'foreigner' in Japanese slang)
Jogged slowly around the outskirts of the enemy team, for some reason, nobody knew if they should shoot me or not simply because my rifle was slung across my back EVEN THOUGH I was double-fisting two pistols. I moved behind the enemy team (about 40 strong) and took out 11 of them before I took a few rounds to the chest and leg. Got a round of applause from a group of about 10 folks standing on the third-floor viewing platform for that one.

Running my Stoner 63 for the first time and realizing how big of a rape machine it is.

Most memorable airsoft moment was rolling up in an armoured technical firing an M249 mounted to the turret while the truck was blasting "Welcome To The Jungle". Happened repeatedly that day and at no point was it any less awesome.

Playing in an old boarded in abandoned mall runnimg down always with all the lights shut off, smoke everywhere and suddenly comming face to face with this.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7134/7...cd14be2a52.jpg

I ran away and hid on a toilet holding the door closed, the sound of his steps stoped right in front of it. I could hear his head turn and see the red lights on the wall across the hall then back to the front as he kept walking and looking for more humans. I thought for sure he had found me. That was 20 min into the game that lasted 6 hours

Partying in Chicago. Too bad Op. Irene got in the way of a perfectly good time. But MUTC Indiana was cool to visit again.

Airsoft related: Finally pulling my TM Socom MK23 off the gun wall for the first time in four years and putting all the rumours to rest. I can still drop an entire team with it.

Non-airsoft related: Higgs Boson, The discovery of organic material and water on Mercury.. Shit is getting real.

Brian McIlmoyle December 21st, 2012 15:23

"discovering" Finche's field at Rockwood, and running about 8 games there is past season. Jumping in to WWII Airsoft, Founding a WWII unit, Researching and training WWII combat methods. Seeing the fruits of my labour

Myself and several others shooting the hell out of Karma from DoubleTapTactical in the dark. He was on our team and had just come back in to regroup with us. When we saw a dark figure approach we all got down in the grass real low, and I gave him the night challenge "which was ginger - loaf". Ya ...he didn't know it. Which was funny because his team came up with it. Long story short; he got shot by a whole bunch of people at the same time, and swore vengeance.

FirestormX December 21st, 2012 16:11

Most memorable moment was the hour-or-so that I came back to ASC after a couple years, and saw the massive price drops in the classifieds.
The "holy crap, $200 for an M4" was quite memorable.

HeadlessChicken December 21st, 2012 17:13

Going to Ultimate Airsoft for I think the 2nd time and finding out about that secret door at the corner of the bunker only to come behind a 3 man fireteam. Unfortunately they noticed me first.

But non-airsoft related, being there when my daughter was born a month ago.

Mordarski J.A. December 23rd, 2012 04:00

Finding/attending East Wind - hands down the most indepth and awesome experience in airsoft I've ever had.

Edit: Okay, I'll elaborate some since everyone seems to have some stories attached to their most memorable moment.

1. Short call to reinforce the NATO QRF. They got schwacked while going to reinforce another squad holding a town. Literally, the NATO commander asked how many we had ready to go - our section I/C said all - and suddenly we're snagging our webbing and in a CUCV flying to the town. As we peeled out of the NATO base we saw our RadOp (sans radio since it was on the truck and thus we thought HE was on the truck) being left in our dust. About five minutes after we secured the town our RadOp comes running up yelling at us for trying to have all the fun without him!

2. Rushing out one night as QRF to support NATO's British section as they became engaged by a US squad - we didn't find out it was a blue-on-blue engagement until later on in the night. We arrived as the dust was settling and ended up charging forward with the NATO CO since he materialized out of thin air with a set of NVG's. We charge away into the night and I got my forty-five (45) seconds of "trigger time" as we stepped into an ambush - we would have been the ambushers, except one admin called the other admin and tipped off the WARPAC guys to how close we were - I got zipped in a kidney, and became the only Canadian casualty at the event.

3. During the "last battle" - a giant force-on-force battle where all of NATO held a town and all of the Warsaw Pact troops attacked before we had the cultural exchange - I was standing in a second floor conex box building. After my rifle went down (I believe the battery just failed) I continued to use my Elcan sight to call in positions. The LMG gunner beside me got hit, and his C9 was picked up by a West German observer in the tower (who also subsequently got hit). I then picked up the MG and kept going until it went down, then popped a grenade through the door as I saw a WARPAC guy run past it. I picked up the last weapon we had in the tower....an AT-4....and instinctive shot at a WARPAC guy from a window. I took a round to my bean for my troubles (no helmet mean my brains painted the inside of the tower) but I evaporated my target with the AT round!

Night zombie game @ Rapidfire. The scene: a track beside the cornfield that the farmer has been driving his tractor down, across the track from the corn was an overgrown ditch- full moon light. Already a zombie i was stumbling around on the track as a diversion while a fellow zombie was hiding in the ditch ready to ambush-lunge out. After shooting me a four man team with a petite girl in third spot continued down the lane. I crumpled to the ground facing the ambush with a satisfied look on my face. My fellow zombie, an average size guy, sprung the trap but coming out of the ditch, tripped and football/ George St Pierre tackled the girl -both of them disappearing into the cornfield. everybody froze-shocked It was just like the movies!!and we heard a feminine voice call out 'it's all good" where in she climbed out of the corn and they continued down the track. After my 200 count i rushed into the cornfield to find my fellow zombie counting to 200 She was quick - shot him point blank as he came out of the ditch. lol

Con Murder December 23rd, 2012 14:55

1. Team hiatus till fall and we find a dozen new players!
2. New players are serious about getting organized and official!
3. Low turn out one weekend had us playing five on five, attack and defend games. We send our marksman to the opposite side of our four man assault tasked with gaining there attention. Four of us sneak into tall grass at a creek bed and spread out. As soon as we hear the enemy trying to locate the marksman us four march forward. My wing-man and I move in fast as the two others come up on either side of us. As I Get to some cover and move in I see only one in the bottom level and mercy killed him, got out a tornado and pulled the pin. To bad the rubber stopper at the top was not put in properly... I blew myself up and then watched my wing-man pull the pin on his properly prepped tornado for a beauty double kill on the two in the top floor!

Thinking, I would like to host a Vietnam game and hoping a few players will be interested, ending up with 75+ players in period uniforms or close enough:)

People not sleeping that night because they are so excited about the game. At the start of the game, sitting on the ATV looking at a line of VC's crossing the field with their straw hats, ak's and black uniforms and later on the wild firefights with the US troops fighting with Rock and Roll music and M60's blasting! I still daydream about it:)

1. It was a moonless night in Muskoka for our 24hr game. At some point, around 12am, i ended up alone, or so i though... Someone walked up to me, to tell me the wolfpack had set up a bunker close. Why would he say that to me if he's a friendly!! I am scared as shit, since i cant use my light, and i'm hearing weird animal noise, did i mention it is freaking pitch black? So i got up, stood up right next to him and knifed his throat. he asked, wtf are you doing? Me: killing you! he's like "Barbie, it's Clay!!!" My CO and game organizer... yep... So i healed him, and we saw lights coming.. started to run, got stuck between 2 pine trees so i kinda ended up standing up next to these trees... Guys are coming... I stop moving and get my arm up, pretending to be a tree too... Then i get a bb on my backpack... Fuck... How did they see me??? ooooooh, nightvision... so we laughed the whole way they kidnapped me.. Cause honestly, who pretends to be a tree eh??? lol

2. In quebec, we were playing like the military troops against opium grower. we have a tracker to ride around in. I am driving, got my CO standing on the front seat and 2 guys, also standing in the back. See a tango, start to head for him, relatively safely, when my CO told me to step on it!!! So a tracker with 3 guys firing at this guy, who i know can take it, racing in the fields... Never saw someone run sooo fast!!!

And this my friend were only 2 of many moments i will never forget!!! Thanks to all who made that possible to me!!!

Gato December 25th, 2012 06:54

Hanging out and playing with the TS crew on the field, meeting some new players, some of whom have helped in starting up a GTA based Russian team!

Those would be the highlights this year.

Duilin December 28th, 2012 22:04

only got out for one game all year, and that was RTR2 in NS. had a blast, was the largest game i've ever played in. and absolutly loved it.

chaz December 28th, 2012 22:54

Starting Airsoft :)

c3sk December 28th, 2012 23:12

1. Watching Mike (Rubs) AKA "The Mayor" lead a group of 16 players(survivors) into some abandoned office rooms during the Zombie game, telling them there is ammo down the hallway in one of the rooms at the end....when in reality... they are walking into the largest CQB zombie ambush in ASC history (that I am aware of).

Only 1 guy made it out alive.

2. Terminator night games at the Picton Complex.

3. The Bar we built for the zombie game/driving around with Joe Lieberman buying all the Neon signs for the Bar.

4. Getting sick at Deadfall (worth it)

KEVORKIAN December 30th, 2012 12:38

During my ElCartel game,

Kaporal K is at the police station visiting his boss in prison, I walk next to him and throw some coccaine at his feet while yelling at the cops that he dropped some drug. They all jump on him, he pushes one, steal his service gun and shot me twice in the chest for 2 feet away, then he got gunned down by 4 swat guys with m4.

We still laugh about it.
