Best gifts were probably a 20 year old bottle of Dewar's 12 and some soapstone whiskey rocks. The rocks came with a pretty thick little guide to whiskeys of the world too, which is pretty interesting reading so far.

Got a electric impact wrench from my ant and a sweater from my inlaws. Family gift exchange with the gf and the kids is tomorrow and with my mother is on the firts. Ueah it's spread out this year. But I got the best gift very early this year from my mother and honestly could not ask for more: paid tuition in a private school for a professionnal trade diploma.

Congrats Fuji

Santa gave me a little girl just over a month ago...guess this little package used up his gift budget on me, didn't get anything else. That or he thought all I wanted for Christmas was baby clothes for 6-12 month olds.

So I figured I'd spring for myself a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7"...mostly for my wife unless she doesn't take to it because she is sooooo wanting an IPad  because it looks nicer.

Well the wife got me a KJW Les Baer 1911, and a Propane Adaptor, with taxes it was around $270.

I got her a gold bracelet, a jewellery box, and a box of chocolate, and ended up about he same amount of money (a little more actually thinking about it).

It's Christmas man, you pinch a $20 or two every month, throw it in your sock drawer and you end up with a easy $240-480 to spend come Christmas.

Makes you happy, and makes her happy. And making her happy is key to getting what you want. :D

I sold off my precious collection of rare RPG games to help pay for my M15 A4. For Suikoden II (psone) + Tales of destiny II (psone) + Earthbound (SNES) I got $250 then I had a bunch of others mostly SNES games like Lufia, Secret of Mana and 2 snes consoles for a grand total of $500.

Helping to offset the cost I was also able to order myself some Revision Bullet Ant Goggles and I'm looking at ordering some parts to downgrade the fps below 400.

You got a shop to do it? Replacing an ignition coil, especially on a 4-cylinder takes less than 5 minutes and a socket set.

But yeah an ignition coil can be like $80-$100.

Ricochet December 27th, 2012 13:41

I got a double rifle Starlight hard case in black, to keep my guns in. 54' long, 14' wide, 8' deep. Includes the hard foam inserts, new wheel and pressure catches design. It's completely waterproof, with the internal pressure relief valve. The new design allows them to stand on, which is good because this big bastard doesn't fit under the bed.

V6
I haven't got the OBD-II computer
and it was one under the intake manifold, so more then 5 min

I usually change them myself if I can visually see the cracked ones

Oh yeah, V6 is more difficult. I bought a little code reader for $60 or $70 and its already paid for itself.

L473ncy December 27th, 2012 14:56

I wanted a pair of 5.10 Impacts (I swear it's not a clone of 5.11, they make different stuff). Also some Fly Racing stuff.

Instead I got a Galaxy Tab 2 that I don't have much use for (not that I'm ungrateful, I just never really got into the whole tablet thing it's cool but not something I'd use all the time) so I gave it to my dad.

The dream is to get myself some Dainese, Rev'it, or A* stuff when I have a steady job and loads of disposable income.

Ya, it's big ...and in inches " lol, whoops. It's bigger than the DMR case anyways. I can put my L96, my M16, my USP, and all magazines and accessories in it comfortably. It's actually more ergonomic than taking two or three cases, however it no longer fits in a trunk. Luckily we all own trucks and SUVs.

And may I ask, where did you find such a case? I currently have a L96, M4A1, and soon will have an E90. I'd like to at least have a combination bag/case. :)

They can be ordered through underwater kinetics in Edmonton. Talk to Duncan. You Won't find a better case. This one comes with the foam kit in it as well, which is a bonus.

http://www.underwaterkineticscanada....product_id=127

The VooDoo bag from supply sergeant is also good if you want a soft case. It'll hold all you gear "and" guns (I'm not sure about an L96 though). It doesn't offer as much protection either, but is more modular.

http://secure.hostdeziners.com/www_s...oducts_id=2038

I have a picture of two L96 AW guns in my case in my sales thread. Both will fit on one layer (with scopes and bipods). They barely fit, but one gun fits very well, and there is a second layer for another gun and accessories. Anyways, check out the pictures for an accurate idea.

Nada, Zilch, Fuck-all. By my request.

I did spend $500.00 on gifts to immediate family, though.. more to give thanks (in a very small way, considering) to them for the moral and physical support that they've given me in the past few years of acute health issues, then an actual holiday observance tradition.

Now that i am finally back to work after 2+ years, i can buy my own toys, at any time - and I already have - I do have packages inbound`from Asia to finish off my foreseeable kit and equipment requirements for the next 1+ years, and I got a Google Nexus 7 in late October to replace my early generation touch-laptop. Merry Christmas to Me, from Me. I'm happy with what i can provide myself, rather than what others can give me (or not).

When you get to be past your 30's in some situations.. whether you are single, divorced, or attached.. with children, or without.. you tend to be grateful for other things, much more than "gifts" or what the "gifting" holiday season will provide. Quality time with immediate and extended family, to start..

*edit* not meant to be preachy.. if it comes off that way, i apologize.. just introspective, and more than slightly drunk posting..

Lol. This.

Gunk, you should try Bose QC15s, angels are not even close. :-)

The QC15s are a little on the large size. I like the bud-size of the ie2s. I can listen to them with my mp3 player on the bus, slip them into my pocket, carry them to school, wear them to bed and fall asleep listening to music. Everything. Versatility. They don't have noise cancelling tech, but they do drown out most things. Unless I'm waiting for the bus under the train bridge I don't really hear traffic... I can listen to music at 40% volume and still think it's loud, they've got the super awesome little rubber arms that keep the buds firmly in place in my ear with no wiggle (they also absorb some extraneous sound), they direct the music directly into my ear canal (is that what it's called? "Ear Canal"? The sound is directed right into my ears, where as, lets say the Apple headphones, direct sound into ones anus).

The QC15s look like they'd be good for something like a PC/Desktop set up - though the lack of a mic for game comms is a drawback. I like my headphones like I like my chances of getting laid - the smaller the better. I did try them out a while back, just a demo set at a store so I couldn't pick the music really, but they did sound nice. Shit, everything Bose sounds nice. I'd kill for a nice custom Bose gaming headset, something like the A-20. Eff Turtle Beach.

DaRkCoMmAnDo December 29th, 2012 01:35

Eff turtle beach indeed. I think I'm going to get some Astro a40's soon, Bose I think is a bit out of my price range.

As for what I got, brand new MSA Sordins and food poisoning!

Berkut December 29th, 2012 01:42

Lol. I have both. QC15 is perfect for public transit etc. Noise cancelling is god send on the subway during rush hour.
Now if Santa was nice, he'd get me a set of A20s...

Cortex December 29th, 2012 01:51

Santa didn't bring it to me, but he contributed to this ending up in my collection:

As much as I am loving the headphone discussion I'm not sure this is the best place. Perhaps I shall make a thread in off topic since I consider myself an audiophile and I love talking audio equipment.

A cheque beginning with a "1" followed by more than a few "0's".

Oh and this:
DD Mk18 RIS II
but it was a merry X-mas to myself so it doesn't count does it?

However, the cheque may already be gone and then some thanks to my Vee-dub (first time it's ever coded anything but low washer fluid) throwing a nasty engine code on the way home yesterday: "turbo under-boost", which could be any number of things but worst case is a new TC for a not so insignificant amount of $$ unless the warranty covers...won't know until next week but the code hasn't resurfaced so crossing fingers. http://airsoftcanada.com/images/smil...n_banghead.gif

Yes but OSTS gave me a deal that was very irresistible...I certainly didn't pay the posted price. I did buy other things from them as well on the same trip (returning from Ottawa) but the rail was really a "my gift to me" sort of thing. I almost bought a KAC URX III instead but the DD rail just felt nicer to hold and their hard anodizing seemed better.

Besides, once I eventually obtain my RPAL then the rail will find another more suitable home. http://airsoftcanada.com/images/smil...01_icon_ok.gif
