Sniper Goodness (56k beware!)
Yet another Project gun completed...
My Newley scratch built SR15 in all it's glory: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y63...oft/SR15/1.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y63...oft/SR15/5.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y63...oft/SR15/9.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y63...ft/SR15/11.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y63...oft/SR15/2.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y63...ft/SR15/10.jpghttp://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y63...oft/SR15/8.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y63...oft/SR15/7.jpghttp://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y63...ft/SR15/12.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y63...oft/SR15/3.jpghttp://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y63...oft/SR15/6.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y63...oft/SR15/4.jpg Enjoy Lynch |

I have to say very nice work.
|
Some one please get me a bucket and some towels.
 |
Okay now all you have to do is come to a game with that gun, or an M.I.A. meet to tell us about it :p
Nice work 8-) |
Very nice pics!

WOW! thats one mean sniper rifle. can wait to make a project like that. Is that a DTP metal reciever?
|
.: DROOL :.
Thats my next project when I get some cash... Great job |
Definitely DTP metal receiver. Lack of curves, hard angles... looks like an SR-25 body, but with a 5.56mm mag well.
And it lacks a forward assist knob. But overall, a beautiful piece, Lynch. Always glad to see new members to the SR-15 club. Mine is being re-built right now as well, and is as close as I think I'll ever get to an exact replica of a factory-built KAC SR-15 Match... |
its guns like these that I wish there was a significant fps and range advantage over the 400fps guns.
400 and 450fps is pratically the same. right now all snipers have going for them is stealth....the range advantage would be nice. (not to say all, i know some have bolt rifles that hit 250 feet easy, but still) |
Sexy fricking gun Lynch, wicked job! And the pics are very impressive as well.

For those interested, the parts list:
DTP SR15 Body. G&P SR25 Floating RAS with a QD Silencer. (no pics with the silencer on yet) Smokeys M16 Sniper Grip w/steel motor cage. G&P SR25 Flip front sight. Guarder tactical flip up rear sight. Tasco 6-24x50 Illuminated Scope Real Steel extended sniper charging handle Systema PSG 6.07 barrel, cut down. Marui swivel Bi Pod ICS Laser CA Reinforced mechbox (the old black ones) Systema super tourque up gears PDI 190% Spring Modded Marui M16/A2 Full Stock info here Drilled stock trigger. Mechbox modded for semi only. Total cost, probly hovering around $2000. Without a chrony, I'd estimate the gun shoots 450-470. I can hit a stop sign 2 blocks away from my bedroom window. The only thing I'm missing that I want for it is a trigger shoe a' la' PSG. If anyone has machining capability, I'd appreciate the help in making one to fit a M16 trigger. I'd like to thank Jackyiscxd, Raygis LasVegas, Cortexburn, astrop23 and especially Freedom Fighter for help in rummaging for parts. A huge dick stroking goes to Gump for the DTP body, which set this whole thing in motion. Very happy with the result :D Lynch |
Wow, nice rifle.
The pics are dark, but give the rifle an mean attitude. |

Oh nice, you got that receiver from Gump?
That means that receiver was at one point in time... MINE! awww yeah. Those receivers are beauties that way a TON. Too bad they're no longer in production. |
awesome pic and awesome gun, You should get the scope extender thought that Jackisxd is selling for 20 bux it would look even nicer!

DTP should really re-issue these, they are by far the best receivers I've ever seen. I had to do some dremelling for the hop cover to work, and it took forever to get anywhere. Very well made. |

Yes, I use to have two of those beasts. But they were waaaay too heavy for my scrawny chinaman arms. lol. |

Could the true owner please STAND UP!
Haha, actually, yeah Bruce, that's definatly the same receiver. That paint chip on the magwell is still there. Sorry Illusion.. unless ya bought it off Bruce, Gump still has yours. |

doh! too bad... i would've liked to see my old baby on this beauty.
I know Gump did buy one of my receivers directly off me and I believe he acquired the second one from someone who I had sold the second body to. Crazy story. Crazy fun, tracing your toys across the country. ;) |
THATS HOT!!!
is it me or most of your guys are just plain ballers...lol |

Bruce, PM me when you're done. I'll gladly reimburse you for your efforts and appreciate the help. |

http://www.pbase.com/illusive_airsof...plica&page=all The images in the above gallery show the gun in it's state right before I took it apart. In all honesty, to someone who isn't as anal as me, they won't even notice any differences once it's rebuilt, but I'm rebuilding it so that: - I'll have full "SR-15 Match" markings, rather than "SR-16 M4" - There are no "Full-Auto" markings (although it does not have a blocker to prevent you from going to full-auto. Real steel blocks it... kind of like the G&P SR-25 receiver.) - KAC 600m rear flip-up sight. I'm trying to build as close of a replica to the SR-15 Match as shown by KAC at most gun shows and as represented in that issue of Guns & Weapons for Law Enforcement. I had such a hard-on for this gun that I called up that publication to order that backissue so that I could obtain as many full colour images of that gun as possible. I'll scan them and include them in the gallery of my re-built beauty. |
wow man, REALLY nice job.
|
Nice Illusion, you seemed to have nailed it.
BTW, how are you going to re-do the Trademarks? Engraver? |
Nope, Guarder actually makes the receiver. ;)
|
really nice gun, especially the stock.
take away the laser unit will be even better as sniper do not use laser for aiming. |
