Can I import this gun into canada

The gun I am going to link is made with the airsoft megastores gun builder and is full metal with 380-420 fps I think.

Are two threads necessary..?

R.I.T.Z November 8th, 2015 20:09

it depends have you made an adequate blood and BB sacrifice to the almighty Airsoft lords?

But in all seriousness, for the price tag of what you've built off a rather low quality Golden Eagle M4.
You can buy a better base gun in Canada, now before you ask where, you should know that according to forum rules we cannot tell you until you meet with an age verifier IN PERSON and prove you are 18+.

your cheap quality gun after everything is gonna cost like 450USD which in Canadian works out to be close to 600$

at that price you can buy a gun that looks like the one you built and an entire beginners package.

BioRage November 8th, 2015 20:15

Yes you can,

Please order it now.

The first time thread/post you created ended up in the trash disposal. So you created a new almost identical one. And I believe he was asking why you asked the same question twice.

I did that because I posted in the wrong forum

DreadHead November 8th, 2015 20:30

Fair enough, then as RITZ has said you could easily buy a rifle in Canada that is similar if not the same as the build you have linked.

Please visit the newbie guide and FAQ connect with your local area age verifier and you find a lot more open doors.

The reason I want it is because it fits what I want and I can't find anything that works.

Invoke ghost November 8th, 2015 20:53

I've been looking at the m4-ff-m at torontoairsoft.ca but I don't know if it's any good

brock0 November 8th, 2015 20:53

If you can't live without it, contact airsoftmegastore and ask them.

As was said you can find better in Canada but it's your money.

Yeah but I can't find them

brock0 November 8th, 2015 21:05

Get age verified and maybe someone can help you find something?

honestly anything is better then the golden eagle/JG brand.

The M4-FF-M is Ares made and a good quality.

redzaku November 8th, 2015 21:30

Just buy it in Canada, after the conversion, the price is going to be 500 and some after tax, and majority of the airsoft stores uses ups to ship, that's another 50 to 60 dollars, then if you got luck on your side and the csba didn't seize it and didn't blacklisted you. You will still have to pay the import fee of 50 dollars minimum (I swear ups has a policy that every 100 dollar value their importation fee is 20 dollars)
I don't think that 600 to 700 dollars is worth the effort for importing something that is already in Canada and on top of it the chance of getting a red flag from the csba implying you didn't do the proper paper work

Invoke ghost November 8th, 2015 21:59

Is this worth it?

Handsonic November 8th, 2015 22:02

"Can I import this into Canada?"

Yeah, if you want to waste half a thousand dollars on a low quality gun.
And though I generally don't judge people's gun choices, that thing looks really impractical. Extremely long barrel, non-adjustable stock, vertical grip, high cap magazine, and it shoots too hot for almost any field I know of. For that price I'm assuming the internals are semi-decent at best.

Something tells me you're not very experienced in airsoft and should REALLY do more research and play more games before making a big purchase on something like an AEG.

That gun would be MUCH better to get than the imported one because you'd be saving money and headache, but still, there are better options out there for the same or better prices. Long AEG's are usually not practical, especially in CQB/Urban environments, and weigh plenty more to carry around which gets tiring in longer, bigger games.

It's OK everyone I pressed restart; it's gone.

lurkingknight November 8th, 2015 22:45

wouldn't say it would be over 500 after importation...

even with crappy exchange rate at the 35% the credit card companies will charge you, 250 usd after shipping would only be 337 cad. Depending if they shipped ups or usps, you could be looking at 35$, 5% and 13% of the total for import fees from ups, or by usps, 8$, 5% and 13% of total. And if they're bastards, you either pay the duty and hst on the value of what's in the package or if they're real asshats, they will make you pay based on what's in the box PLUS what they charged for shipping, depending how lazy the customs guy is or how the value was declared on the paperwork.

over 300 definitely for a JG. not worth it.

A landed JG m4 is not worth more than 250 after tax.

Don't get how people are so bad at google they can't even find the canadian retailers to price shop. It's not like the major vendors aren't hidden these days.

Foxx November 8th, 2015 23:40

Since when has it become acceptable to call an airsoft a "gun" on this forum?

lurkingknight November 9th, 2015 00:03

for ever.

If you want to nitpick language:

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/gun?s=tgun1

Quote:

any device for shooting something under pressure:
a paint gun; a staple gun.
rcmp also classifies legal to import airsoft GUNS as uncontrolled firearms... also a gun.

Everyone also says treat your airsoft GUNS like the real thing... like a GUN.

So let's call a spade, a spade, yeah?

airsoft mega store charges a mandatory 70$ fee for export into canada and ship via UPS

8bitninja November 9th, 2015 09:21

At the current exchange rate, it's not worth it unless it's something not normally found here.

It is worth it at most places, since they offer 20-30% off, brought in a GHK105 for little less then $500 CAD - after taxes and duties, took < 4 days to land too, and spent 20 minutes in customs.

Example order I did recently;

Quote:

GHK AK47 105 Airsoft GBB Gas Rifle GR-GHK-AK47-105 1 $275.99
Subtotal $275.99
Shipping & Handling $52.45
Grand Total $328.44
Sad with even our shit cad rate, that ordering from the US is cheaper than retailers here.

Can I import this gun into canada

I think that falls into the "not normally found here" category (in stock). Having said that, I would have gotten a TM P90 HC elsewhere had I not found M2M.

Depends on the FPS, I wouldn't bother with guns that don't shoot the "legal requirement" though they don't have too. (I.E your P90)

As long as the site states the FPS, you're golden, stuffs so grey, it's boggles my mind at times.

EX. Ordered a GHK 74UN from Evike, their site stated 370 fps+, when I chronoed it, was sub 355-360.

(p.s don't order with Evike, they are horrible with their CS.)

Wilkie November 9th, 2015 11:11

I'm going to toss this in here as well, maybe save you some trouble:

The soul purpose of a long barrel is to achieve a certain look. A 10" barrel will shoot the same distance as a 20". If you want to build a setup with the look of a DMR, stick with a standard 14.5" barrel. No reason to leave yourself with an unwieldy gun with no advantage over something shorter and more useful
