Shot guns

So im looking into getting a shot gun for my next purches. But i need to know a few things before i actualy get one.

Gas or Spring, whats better for indoor?
if gan can, i use propane with the lub in it?
Company. who do you recomend?

I really like the TM style of shot gun shells where you get 10 shots with 1 shell, are their any other companies that do this too? doesnt have to be 10 shots per round though.

Are there alot of accesories for these guns? alls i really want is a good rail system for a sight (like the CA870 charger) and places for flash lights and other stuff.

Thanks
Jeremy

First, it's one word: shotgun. Secondly, there are multiple threads on the forum with similar or identical subjects, just search!

TheToastmaster November 28th, 2005 00:38

Indeed. Search.
All of these questions (except perhaps for the one about "lub"??) have been answered many times, and recently too.

Rumpel Felt November 28th, 2005 00:47

Bloody hell it's SHOTGUN not "shot gun".........ahgg! That's so foul, I'm not going to sleep tonight.

You've been here since October, you should know the ropes by now; please search.

And please update your profile. Canada is a big place, if you add a few more details the local players will be able to help you.

Voodoo November 28th, 2005 10:02

I looked about 2 pgs back and then realized that i had better things too to than readd 300 old streams.

Thanks for the help any ways, i'll start searching more.

To be blunt, I care. ESL aside, the way I see it, people who don't bother to spell check mean they don't have enough respect for me to go through the time and effort to make sure I can read and understand their question.

I try to treat people with the same respect I would expect for myself, so I take the time to edit and check my posts. It's also why I might know the answer to a question and choose not to post - why would I want to take my valuable time and help someone who would openly disrespect myself and others here?

Besides, having obvious and easily-corrected spelling and grammatical problems make you look like a moron.

Here's your freebie: TM shotguns are excellent indoors, but have virtually no upgrades or accessories available (rails and such).

Marushin gas shotguns are also very good, but might be a little hot for CQB using propane. They also have limited accessories.

Maruzen springers (CA870) are acceptable, but in my experience will usually be outgunned by an small AEG or GBB in close quarters.

Maruzen gas shotguns are not very good without some effort and money put into them to make them skirmish-worthy, but with good tuning can be an exellent CQB weapon.

Both types of Maruzen shotguns have rails and internal upgrades available if you take the time to look.

Voodoo November 28th, 2005 11:52

Well thank you very much. I understand where you are comming from on the respect issue, thats why i sign all my post with my real name.

I thought the CA870 was a gas. Now that i know its spring i am very excited.
I dont like buying gas for more stuff if i dont have too, its a bit too expencive for a college student. How is the "mag" shell, is is multiple shots or just 1 blast per shell?

Thanks
Jeremy

Skruface November 28th, 2005 12:17

The mag holds 40 rounds, and each pump loads one round. The CA870 is less like a shotgun and more line a pump-action sniper rifle.

Voodoo November 28th, 2005 18:26

Sounds like fun, is it a really good shot like a VSR or is it more like a MP?

Are their any gas or spring shotguns other than Marue that shoot 3 bb triangle?

Thanks
Jeremy

Greylocks November 28th, 2005 19:26

So far as I know, only Marui has the 3 barrel system. And thanks for making an effort with your spelling and grammar.
Next step, your Profile. Canada is a big place... if you add a city, we can direct you to local help.

Voodoo November 28th, 2005 21:13

Im in Calgary and i go through Ken at 007 for my stuff, or i use Tac-Ops group orders at WGC.

There are 2 different butts to the 870 and i dont much like the simple stock on the one but i would like to know if you need to change the grip to put a new stock on it?
I ask this because on the version with the stock, the grip and place there the sliding stock attach are 1 piece and the stuby had a really wierd looking thing on the end.

Thanks
Jeremy

Skruface November 29th, 2005 00:37

You will need to replace the pistol grip to add a different stock on a CA870.

I assume the "weird looking thing" you're talking about is the two "loops" on top of the pistol grip? That's there the top-folding stock attaches on the real deal.

However, you can attach a stock for a real Remington 870 to the CA 870 - the only difference in the length of the bolt that attaches it. Of course, some of the stocks shown below cost more than double the price of a CA870....

Perfect, thank you very much

Jeremy

Greylocks November 29th, 2005 17:37

I must say that the shotgun in the picture with a bayonet added is scary.

Voodoo November 29th, 2005 22:32

no kidding, i kind of want it just for the intimidation factor!!

v82slo November 30th, 2005 00:40

I have a Maruzen CA870 springer shotgun and definitely recommend it. It shoots far and pretty hard for a springer (300+ fps? if I remember correctly). Only negative is that it doesn't have an adjustable hop-up but there is a site that talks about upgrades to the shotgun (oh yeah, the bb cartridge reduces realism).

Definitely good bang for the buck.

Nice to know,I was thinking of buying one now for cheap till I get my main weapon in 11 months or so.

Voodoo November 30th, 2005 10:45

i like the idea of a mag for it. dont know why.

Its still 6mm right?

Is puting a scope on it worth it or is it not that good of a sniping weapon.

It is indeed 6mm bb's. I don't know how good of a sniping weapon it'll make. My AEG can out shoot the shotgun even though it shoots pretty far. Personally I was thinking of using the shotty as a backup to my sniper rifle. As a range I'd say you should get 100-150 feet (wind dependent) accuracy out of the shotgun which will make it out ranged by most other AEG's or sniper rifles.

P.S. I was thinking of mounting my shotgun on a back sheath (sort of like the hide-away design from Aliens movie).

Voodoo December 1st, 2005 01:18

that would be prity pimp, im looking to get another M11 as a primary because i play indoor FAR more than i play out door. For indoor would you still recoment the CA870 over the super 90 (will be saw'd off)?

When you shoot the super 90 do the 3 bbs stay together or do they all split off.

Greylocks December 1st, 2005 17:53

You know, at this point, go to a game/meet and see if you can try stuff? How else will you know how a gun shoots?

Skruface December 2nd, 2005 18:12

Seems like Maruzen is set to release the CA870 with a factory-installed top-folder:

lamlok December 5th, 2005 04:41

For CQB purpose, get the grenade launcher. the effect is resemble what a real shotgun should perform

DuffMan December 5th, 2005 07:27

Except, that, y'know, it's a breech-loading GRENADE LAUNCHER.

Skruface December 5th, 2005 07:56

Yeah. I don't think Voodoo is looking to spend a huge pile of cash. Launcher + a reasonable amount of grenades = expensive.

lamlok December 6th, 2005 03:53

The pistol type grenade launcher is not that costly. The main use for this weapon is to surprise your opponent (hide it in your vest, don't use it until the last second.)
You'll see a bunch of surprised and funny face. I think 2 grenade is enough since you seldom have time for reload for this 1 shot, many kill weapon
