Italian Marines BDU's

A month ago an Italian fellow by the name of Paolo "mctaz" posted on these boards looking for some Canadian taped buttons. I had a bunch of old OD uniforms I hadn't turned in yet, and since they were gonna go right in the garbage bin, I stripped off all the buttons and sent them his way. All I asked for was to send me a envelope back covering my postage.

What he sent me back was a set of Italian Marine combats! These are totally worth a "basement commando" shot;

What a great guy eh? Props to you Paolo!

LOL! hahahah....

Where did you purchase that BDU from or is it customely tailored?

gandar December 12th, 2005 14:25

Very nice, and DEFINATELY rock on McTaz. Good on ya for sure man. And nice score Kokanee

CDN_Stalker December 12th, 2005 14:33

VERY cool! Looks almost like a multi-cam type pattern and some similar shading on them. So which pocket does the wine flask go in?

gandar December 12th, 2005 14:49

I would imagine that it would be really effective around this time of year out west, or in heavy forest, with a bit of snow on the ground, but still lots of colour showing...

Kokanee December 12th, 2005 16:32

here you are Morb;

That's one of the shoulder pockets - you could fit a yugo in it!

The jacket as mentioned above has nice big shoulder pockets and a front rank tab.

The trousers are pretty much a USGI BDU pattern, except they are not baggy at all, as most european uniforms tend to be cut finer in the leg.

CDN_Stalker December 12th, 2005 18:30

Interesting it has white in it's pattern! Cool concept, adds the "light seeping through leaves" effect to it.

nutboi December 12th, 2005 21:27

looks good. i can see us using that bdu here.

Lerch December 13th, 2005 01:40

I've always been attracted to the Italian Marine uniforms. The camoflage has to be one of the coolest in Europe!

JKT 1 December 23rd, 2005 11:46

Yeah - those are pretty cool, but you should also see the new camo of the Italian Army.

I like it. Jungle Stalker reborn!

Kane December 24th, 2005 15:56

I wouldn't mind some of that Italian Army stuff. Anyone have a beat of whether and where you can get it?

Lerch December 24th, 2005 17:38

Well...Italy comes to mind ;-)

JKT 1 December 26th, 2005 17:08

This company appears to be the one making (and selling) the new Italian Army camo - but I don't know if there e-commerce capability is actually working yet. http://www.csctechnologyforce.com/ar...php?sottocat=8
