Sniper Help...

Alright don't flame me!!! I searched but I couldn't find the answers I was looking for.

Well... I am experienced at paintball but recently fell in love with airsoft. So much more accurate, I love using mags and Oh So More Tactical!!! Don't tell me to wait or something untill I become more experienced and I know I love the sport.

I know I love it. I find airsoft more enjoyable then paintball and I also do competitive shooting and stuff like that. Well... I'm looking for a good sniper rifle. Right now, I'm drooling over the Tanaka M700 SWAT model. Well, I've read it isn't very consistent.

So, I'm looking for a good sniper rifle WITH potential. Nothing over 800 dollars please...

Thanks for the help.

Well try searching. I guess you desrve ONE chance before Greylocks tears you apart. Search the 'reviews' section. Also just type in 'sniper' in the search- there are whole threads on sniping in airsoft that the snipign freaks love. The only reason I'm being nice is because I have a favorite. I hunt moose and deer with a Model 700 Remington. It will win out above all else for me any day. The M40 USMC version is chambered to 7.62 NATO but my baby shoots 6 mil- the smallest allowed for big game. I call it ''The Lady Gun'' or ''Freakin' awesome''.

Very impotante- you have to be 18, and airsoft DOES NOT BEHAVE LIKE REAL WEAPONS. I say this because you appeared to be alluding to the fact that it is ''inconsistant''. You can mod the insides (read read READ up on it!) but basically the two differences are 1)What it looks like 2)The history of the Real Steel version (the real weapon the replica was made after...)

Good luck.. and .... have fun with the flaming.. but... you should have tried harder to search.

When I had my Tanaka M700 I had no issues with it being consistant. The KJW M700 give s the same performance ( more or less ) at a greatly reduced price. Don't count them out.

NuttyHunter February 20th, 2006 21:35

Dude, I gave you all the help in the world. I did the search for you, which gave you a milliom or so threads on what every sniper here had to say. I wasn't being mean, I was being all nice despite your lack of TRYING to find the answer yourself....

Good luck getting anywhere with that attitude.

People around here tend to be pretty harsh towards people that choose to ask without searching. Call it the ASC way. You were given some good info, take it to heart and don't bother with nasty replies. Burn bridges on here, it extends to all the local-to-you fields as well. At least some were relatively nice. Check out the KJW M700 like what Cortex said, it's just over $300, is gas and operates very well even down to +10C with the right gas and ammo.

Just bite your tongue at your rude awakening here, a lot of us expereinced the same when we were noobs and asked a question that could have easily been answered with a reasonable to good search. Also try www.airsoftretreat.com and go into the Snipers Perch for additional info.

Greylocks February 21st, 2006 06:28

broken_system. It's not that you want a sniper airsoft rifle that is the problem for you.

The problem is what you want to do with it, and where, is ILLEGAL. You just dont see that, do you?

So since you chose to ignore advice and bitch instead, you can now reap the rewards of your attitude.

To make things clear, you little turd, there are folks here with more real experience than you have years being alive. They gave you good advice. YOU CHOSE to ignore it.

Dont expect a warm welcome, and good luck finding a gun OR a place to play.

On top of it all; if you hate this website so much, feel free to leave right now instead of throwing a tantrum. It's your right. We wont mind.

For the original poster, honestly, go to a local game.
This is really a broken record answer, but it remains one of the top BEST ways to learn anything you want to learn.

For the rest, as said, sit back and read starting with the Information section of this website.

Wow... I came here looking for some help from my fellow Canadians. You couldnt take 5 minutes to lend me some help?

Thanks... For nothing...

Could you atleast post a LITTLE help?

Not use the search button please

BloodSport February 21st, 2006 11:29

They did, and the search function is you best answer. Why, you ask... well because these questions get answered every day by our fellow Canadians who are new and are to lazy to click a button 15 times to search.

I'm not sure i understand what you are looking for as help...

but if you like the Tanaka M700 Rifle, get it. But by asking for 'nothing over 800$ please', you won't get it... because the rifle will cost you 800$ CND from any retailers, plus at least 50$ shipping (that thing is HEAVY). You'll have to get Gas for it (6$), a propane adaptor (30$), some good weight bbs (.30, .36 ... that's another 50$) and of course, a scope, which will cost about 60$. you'll need a bag or case to carry it, so that's at least another 50 to 100$.

So you're looking at an investment of 1000$+ for that rifle to beging your airsoft experience... hoping you do have protective gear (goggles) that's another 100$.

To be very honest with you, lots of new players want to be a sniper, and after 2 months, sell their gear and quit airsoft or buy a AEG...

So my advice to you is, get a AEG with "sniper capabilities" such as a M16 or a G3Sg1. That way, you'll be able to have a good range with small modifs and still enjoy playing a game normally if sniping ain't what you though it would be.

And As Grey said.... old records are good... Go to a Game, take a look, get a feel and then make a decision.

And finally, if you are not 18years old, you won't be able to get an airsoft from here, unfortunatly.

This help some?

CDN_Stalker February 21st, 2006 11:39

I think he means no sniper rifle with an initial cost of over $800. Am sure he'd be willing put whatever money into it over a couple months after that.

t_1_n_0_u_1, if you like the Tanaka M700 and want to try sniping out, the KJW M700 is strongly recommended because of cost (about $350 new shipped) and it's a good gun. Buy it, buy a scope & good rings, 0.30g BBs and a duster adaptor, and learn and try for cheap. If you still want a Tanaka M700 after a while, sell the KJW then buy the Tanaka, and you'll just transfer all else you bought over to the Tanaka. Simple and effective.

Can someone give me a link to a Canadian Retailer that sells a KJ M700. I found it on other airsoft sites (Redwolf, UNCompany), but none of the ones provided at the top of this website.

I'm sorry for any inconvenience....

Retailers can't always list what they havqe instock or just bring anything and everything in, especially when it a low demand item.
If you contact a retailer or tru and ask them to bring in what you want it's usually doable but might take longer to get since it'll have to be ordered and imported before it gets sent to you.

However for the KJ M700 Grim Fandango may have one in stock as he is a KJW retailer on the boards.

Greylocks February 21st, 2006 18:27

How much more help do you want? Prices? The full list is at your finger tips.
Seeing guns to be sure? Just go to any game. Want to know if a Canadian Retailer has a gun? Newsflash! Email them and ask???

If this is what you call not helping you, then what else do you want? Someone to go to your door and click your computer mouse for you?

You know something? Maybe I should not help any newbies and truly flame them right off the bat as some here seem to think I do all the time.

Want flames to whine about? Cool with me. That can be arranged.

^Hyperion^ February 21st, 2006 19:35

yeah , maybe you should just flame lazy-ass newbs , Grey....they deserve it ( at least that guy does )
