MP7 Hi-Caps? Release date?
Anyone know when they're coming out?
I'm holding off on buying the standard mags, I think extended ones look much better, but man I need more ammo for it. Any help appreciated, as always. |
Noone's heard any rumours or anything? Any aftermarket hicaps?
|
will release in Japan around April..not sure when will it arrive at Canada.
|
Cool cool. Any links or pics?

With Star hopping on the ball like this all the time recently...
TM better get their act together and get their ass in gear with this happening... GO STAR! (Still waiting on a Enfield review though) |
I love Star's real caps.
|
And I thought I might resist purchasing one of these...
|
i wonder whether the long version is actually a highcap or just an extended size lowcap. i would prefer the latter.
|
It's got to be a long lowcap. It's about the size of an MP5 mag, if it was a highcap, it'd be 300 rounds. Now with reasonable ammo loads, the MP7 is starting to look really attractive...
|
its a 100 rounds.
|
Yes, I can see that. I was saying if it was a bona fide, winding "hi-cap" then it would probably be in the ballpark of 300 rounds.
|
also the midcap is a dead give away as to its mechanics.
**edit** I'm a tard. I mis-read the advert. |
Sweet. 300 round hicap FTW! When are these mags comin' out?

I got a hold of one, it is the L85A2. The plastic mechbox they use, has a way better durability then a casted metal one. It can withstand colder weather. One problem i found, was that they said that all m4/m16 mags fit, but it will not fit a thermold or a drum mag into, the magwel is too deep. There were some rough edges where you could see the mold from the plastic handguards. Also if you buy a SUSAT for it, you will have a tough time trying to view through it with anything less that wiley x combats or some other smaller ballistic glasses, paintball or even other ballistic goggles like the Hatch B.O.S.S 6000 goggles are just just not comfortable when trying to use the SUSAT. But other than that, the gun is great, has a beautiful weight and feel to it, the LSW weights just about 12 lbs, so it is quite the hefty gun to carry. It has a nice rate of fire, very good range out of the box, it shoots very hot. It is firing around 385fps with .25! Have to cut the spring a little bit because with .2's it fires well over 420fps It only takes a small battery unless you build your own custom battery for it in the handgrip, even says in the manual that's what you have to do. The barrel isn't very tight, it is a 7mm, but that can be fixed very easily with a tight bore barrel if it ever comes out or if it is interchangable with other guns barrels. In final conclusion, this gun is very badass, If you are a fan of the SA80's, i recommend you go out and order one of these bad boys. Nothing comes close to how it feels, they used pressed sheet metal instead of casted metal, the plastic handguards are not cheap, they are well made poly plastic, very tough, also they come with a nice rugged gun case for them. |
Um... I made this thread for MP7 hicap discussion. If you want to write up a review, post it in the appropriate section please.

my mistake bro, just helping out a fellow friend.
But yea, about the Mp7 hi-cap, that really seems unecessary for a gun that really only last for about 8 mags really. you really only get bout 450 rounds. And using a hi-cap your battery will be done in less than 2 rounds i would say in a game of airsoft, especially since you will probably have too much fun just lettin it rip, also, it isnt really meant to be a suppresive weapon. 50 round mags would do you much better then hi-caps, but thats just my opinion. Everyone has a different view and style. So the choice is all up to you guys with the MP7's. |
YOu make a good point. But I will be upgrading the battery in the future, so capacity won't be a problem.
|
Yea thats true, Any word on battery pack slings? That would be pretty helpful for it. It's just as easy to just make one too.
|
There's actually a way to add another cell to the gun. It's on Arnie's somewhere.
|
I get about 950 rounds out of my battery in my MP7 other users in my club have found the same aswell. As for a battery upgrade the idea up on Arnies is mickey mouse. I just spliced into the wires running under the scope rail and exited a mini plug thru the front vents then I have a battery sling for it.
As for the mag the high caps that TM is producing are wind ups with only 130 (around there) rounds which I thought was gay. This is my first time seeing that star add and all I can say is wicked. Those high caps look super cool I have quite a few TM regular mags now for my MP7 but i can't see why I won't buy 5-6 of those star high caps |
