Airsoft pistols

Hi all, i've been reading the forums for a couple of hours and haven't found anything regarding pistols, although i may have overlooked them.

I just bought myself one of these
http://www.canadianairsoft.ca/items_...92M190COMP.jpg
SPECIAL FORCES M190 FULL AUTO, HFC made in Taiwan.

The problem i'm facing is finding gas for it. I've read through all the "how to use the duster for gas" and such posts but all these posts don't mention pistols and i assume they talk about AEG's (if i could afford to brake my pistol i'd try the methods without asking). The gas is stored in the mag of my pistol, and i'm confused as to how i can quicky and easily refill it (since apparently it will last 2-3 magazines [once again this may only be for AEG's]) From what i gather i need a green gas tank from which i can easily fill the mag, and to fill the green gas tank i use duster. (naturally not as simple as that)

Thanx.

Read everything in there and you will be fine.

Aeg's tend to shoot better on electricity. But I have heard good things about Aeg's on gas.

Duster isn't that great in the M190. Use Green.
You can do what I did, I have the non-compensated select fire of the same gun. Just get a propane adaptor and a tank of propane, then you're ready to rock. Just put your mag upside-down, push the adaptor into the valve for a few seconds, then pull it out. It's as simple as that.

Get the AI Duster Adaptor. Then you can dill it just like any other GBB that uses propain.

Man... AEG stands for Automatic Electric Gun (the key word being ''electric'')...

All of the info you read in the FAQ was about GBB magazines, like yours. Not AEGs.

Based on my reading, your HFC pistol should only be gassed with HFC143a (Duster), so instead of buying a propane adaptor (which is what I'd usually recommend), you should buy a Duster Adaptor from ASC Armoury.

Wrong. Duster will not cycle the HFC metal slide because it is too heavy, propane is the only option.

I cant beleive no one sugested propane? cheap, can get it at any hardware store or CT, 30$ adaptor from Inovations and your set.

Info on pistols, my thread on Guns Discusion should hlp you. Called What IS the Best GBB, lots of personal info from ASC members themselves.

lyphe June 15th, 2006 20:31

Thanx for all the replies.

Is there anyway to make an adapter, or use something that doesn't cost $30 + shipping for using a regular propane tank?

lyphe June 15th, 2006 20:33

Where would i get a propane adapter, would CT or propane dealers have it?

evilmonkey June 15th, 2006 20:36

nope..airsoft inovation are the only one i know of that make them

Sure am glad I stated it wasn't first hand knowledge :D
Thanks for the info, Amgoosen.

Sorry, (I think it’s) wrong again.
It’ll cycle it, just not quickly, and only lobs the shot. One of the reviews found on the gun was using 134a as a tester- which worked, yet the reviewer stated that ‘it was obviously meant for Green’.
Great gun, though- I’ve only used it on Green through mine so far, and it works like a charm.

Correct me if I’m wrong, sorry if that was misleading. Simply stating what I found.

lyphe June 15th, 2006 20:56

So you're sure i need to use Duster and NOT propane? What is the difference?

From what i understand propane produces a higher pressure and seems to be significantly cheaper (although i don't forsee needing to refill my gun too much as i'm always at work). Perhaps i should try the Duster first (since i can do it without an adapter) and then propane.

As far as lube goes, from what i've heard i need silicone 10wt or 20wt oil, is this stuff you can buy from Canadian Tire, or is it something i need to get online or at a airsoft shop?

Greylocks June 15th, 2006 21:38

Duster is simple computer/electronics duster gas. Fairly low powered but safe.
Propane is the same as Green Gas you hear about minus a drop of silicone oil.

The simplest system in the long run (pays for itself in less than 2 events) is the Propane adaptor and simple propane tanks you get from any hardware store for dirt cheap.

If your gun is designed for 'green gas', that is what you want to do.

Pure silicone oil can be bought from any decent Hobby stores.

Read the FAQ a bit more, you're on the right track, or (broken record) go to a local game to see all this in person.

lyphe June 15th, 2006 22:12

Okay, got it - propane it is.
Local game eh? I live near Carleton, where and how would i find one?

Are you sure the reviewer wasnt using the ABS version? The metal version will use too much duster to fire the bb and not have enough left to fully cycle the slide. Propane really is the only option for the metal version.

There are two major gaming fields around Ottawa, if you read the section about Teams, and Events, you will find answers.
The Foxden and the LZ.

Like I said, continue your searching. All you need to know is here for you to read.

Nah, it was metal. The guy also mentioned that it 'certainly wasn't pot metal'. However, I suppose you may be right- I'll pick up a can of duster sometime and check it out, I suppose.

lyphe June 20th, 2006 14:08

Ladies and gentlemen, i'm operational :)

Recieved my AI propane adapter from the Armoury, picked up a can of coleman propane, and i'm good to go.

Thanx a lot for all your input.
