Sovakia takes their airsoft seriously

On another forum:

"my brother was on a big airsoft action over here in Slovakia. and somehow they managed to get the slovak army involved, which brought the T-72 Moderna with them. here's the pictures:"

They probably knew some high ranked people.

CDN_Stalker July 18th, 2006 19:23

Sigh, must be nice! If only in Canada we could pull off stuff like that!

BTW, anyone notice in the first pic the barrel of the tank is painted orange? Must be imported from the US.

Scavenger July 18th, 2006 19:24

T72 AND what looks like a T55... hot diggity. Hopefully they had a good scenario going, otherwise having two tanks driving around in a scrim is kind of..... silly if they dont do anything... but i guess cool for atmosphere.

We could if we could just buy some army officer to let us use some active assets, as it were. I here that money can get you ANYTHING at all in the former East-Bloc countries.

If you could still bring in de-comm tanks like some folks in Northern AB have already done, I'd selll my Honda in a heartbeat.

My wife would really love that, too.

It would make for a cool mil-sim, though.

mcguyver, you are right about money part :)
It's normal for that part of Europe. Military and police can be hired for an event. Russians almost always use soldiers and real weapons in their war movies.
I have a DVD with big game from Russia, they paid for vehices, drivers, cops and whole bunch of other stuff.
Another airsoft video I have got army helicopter in it. Players paid for that, plus they rented military training facility.

mcguyver July 18th, 2006 20:46

We should go there and play, just for the hell of it.

I'll practice my Russian, maybe in 20 years I'll learn to speak it. By then I'll have enough money to rent some MIG's and Sukhoi's as well.

Krieg July 18th, 2006 21:28

Slovakia is a small country.

My uncle's cousin's girlfriend's granfather's friend is the Gerneral.
Lets borrow a tank....
Anything is possible in Europe :D

Must've been a fun game!
Looks serious

damage July 18th, 2006 21:30

There's a chick on top of the T72.

yanhchan July 18th, 2006 21:31

That looks kickass....

Luckyorwhat July 18th, 2006 21:33

Have to wonder how much they used the TI, lol. Ghillie suit schmillie suit, 'that bush is glowing black'.

14K July 18th, 2006 22:07

that looks dangerous...if one of those guys falls face first in front of that moving tank...ha..i dun even wanna imagine

Roguer July 18th, 2006 22:33

if Canada did that, there would be like a 5 hour safety brief before anything even happened. that and ya, its Canda, dont think its gonna happen for an airsoft game. but it would be extremely cool to see

Luckyorwhat July 18th, 2006 22:37

Lol. In Canada people are more afraid of being responsible for their actions than they are of being hurt or maimed. In other parts of the world that aren't as 'enlightened' as us, people seem to be responsible for their own actions and choices. Lol, which one of us is the more socialist?

Vivisector July 18th, 2006 22:46

Comrades in Arms needs a T-72 :(

paranoid987 July 18th, 2006 23:18

*cough* Keystone Strike 2.5 *cough* Helicopter *cough*

SohxBlitz July 18th, 2006 23:20

id be running really fast in the other direction

spaceghost0 July 19th, 2006 00:31

Makes for great recruiting too.

Greenwolf July 19th, 2006 00:42

It is too bad we can't do that here... how much fun would it be to rent a LAV for the day?

Outfit it so that the main cannon fires NERF footballs :D

Well, at least you wouldn't be too worried about other cars in the parking lots denting your doors! :D

just take the round out and replace it with a 25 mm nerf ball. i wonder how stable and far a foam ball would fly at 25,000 fps. i doubt some dick would not call his hit after getting nerfed by one of those fuckers.

While the helicopter will be damn cool, it just doesnt compare to the 1337ness of tanks.

jaymz1911 July 19th, 2006 14:06

Well .... there was a time that you could just about buy anything thing from the former soviet states, like tanks, migs and so on... For cheap like lada. But the thing is, try to get something like that shipped to Canada would cost a small fortune and would customs let it through... I knew of a place in the UK that was selling tanks, for about $60.000.00 ... But other then that, most of Russian military equipment is falling apart and rusted. Heck they can't afford to pay there soldiers.

Luckyorwhat July 19th, 2006 16:36

Yea I heard Russian conscripts eat black bread twice a day. Not too fancy! There's a section under the import/export laws of Canada where you get license for importing tanks, it's past rifles but before bulk cotton, iirc. And the Brits overcharge a LOT. You can get IFVs from the Czechs, in good running order, for under 10grand. MBTs would probably cost twice as much.
