The forces have retooled our rifles - you want a "C7A2" reciever;

Provided that he's going for a C7A2. His title said C7A1, so he may be specifically targetting that model.

Mud Gunner November 9th, 2006 17:28

Well

Not everyone in the Army is getting A2s yet either :( Some of us still have A1s and I hear rumors that the old C7 period is also in the system somewhere as well, the proverbial warstocks we hear about but no one I have ever met has seen.

I think we got FNs, C7s, Cougars, Lynx's, Sherman Tanks, Whippet tanks, Sopwith Camels and likely catapults in there...actually wouldnt surprise me. Mine of our WOs is old enought to have been a loading number on a catapult. Occasionally he slips up and calls the CO Centurion :D

mrgruber November 9th, 2006 17:59

ive seen fns in in weapons lock up in gagetown, and been in cougers and i would never go to war in one.

Lerch November 9th, 2006 18:47

Isn't the Air Force issued C7's when they're doing guard duty? I remember seeing Griffon pilots pacing the flightline with C7's in hand.

Yeah we still have plain old C7s in the system for the Navy and Air Force.

Then there's those units in the army, mainly reserve ones, who still have the C7A1.

And then the pinacle of smallarms tech in the CF today resides with the reg force troops both at home and on deployment. Of course reserve troops who are deployed receive the same weapons. This could be the C7A2 20 inch barrel, the C7A2 16 inch barrel or the C8 (A1 and A2).

Mmm...heavy barrel C8A2:D

Ah damn, now those would sell nicely in Canada...:D

Sgt. Remington December 4th, 2006 21:07

Thanks guys. I'm not in the CF... yet but I would definatly prefer a c7a1 and the old 82 pattern webbing over the c7a2 and t.v.. The one day we calculated that for a one day patrol you could carry 30 mags in the webbing over just 4 in the t.v..

Lerch December 4th, 2006 22:48

30 mags?! Holy shit, are you using pouches other then the 2x mag pouches?!

mrgruber December 5th, 2006 13:55

probly using the c9 pouch and butt pack to cary more mags in as well, just a guess though. I do agree with him i think the c7a2 loks like shit with the green.

4 c9 pouches and 3 c7 or c1 pouches. Right now i have it set with 4 c7's, 2 c9's, 1 c1, 2 canteens, and a butt pouch (20 mags, 2 batteries and 2 canteens if my math is correct.).

So... How did he do the engravings? Is it a drill press? Can it be done with a dremel? And if you had a piece with engravings already on it, could you fill those in at all? How? Gracias.

Agit Prop attempted this a few years back. If I'm not mistaken he gave up and purchased a SP M16A1 Carbine, which he then turned into a M4 Shorty. do a search for "Project X" or "SP M16"

Double Tapper January 4th, 2007 23:11

thanks goldman.

i have some theorys on how i can accomplish this, but i don't have the time right
now drive down to asca for awhile,if i had some pictures ican at least start
drawing up what i need to make, then adjust it to the receiver if it doesn't
need milling in the receiver, this the reason for the pictures. but i am
glad you took the time to answer my post:cool:
