Waffen SS Uniforms
Gentlemen,
A couple of pics of my two uniforms. M40 Wool Uniform - complete with trousers (not shown) http://img228.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pic0052yc6.jpg and... my HBT Reed Green Summer tunic http://img228.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pic0082ms3.jpg |
The summer tunic looks great. I like:D

good stuff :)
|
Pretty... how much you paid for them?
|
I would have to agree, the summer tunic looks great. Not to say the other isn't good as well. Where did you get them from? I may finally start an SS kit.
|
That looks awesome...although I wouldn't wear Waffen-SS uniform in the field.
|
Price wise...I think for the M40 with medals would cost approx $220-$250 U.S.
The HBT Reed Tunic is approx $75 US. I purchased them both from www.ww2militaria-kcs.com. The Medals I purchased from MilitaryTour. As for wearing them in the field, I purchased them more for putting an entire impression together for display. I now have everything kit wise and am working on the smaller personal items that the soldier would carry such as shaving kit, butter dish, blankets etc. I have most of the items, just require a few of the smaller ones. Most of my kit items are named originals, such as the gasmask and carrier, bayonet, refinished original M35 helmet etc, and some are replicas such as my oakleaf zeltbahn, boots, etc.... When all is said and done, I believe my collection is worth approximately $2000-$2500 US. I will try to post a complete picture of the entire collection within the next couple of weeks. I am looking for a mannequin to display the collection on but full sized ones are difficult to come by not to mention expensive. |
Damm dude, thats awesome.
|
Sorry for the thread jack but if you are looking for a mannequin go to any of the "big stores" ie HBC and ask if they have any mannequins that aren't suitable for display. I did this a few years back and got 2 from a SAAN store and 1 from HBC. Generally if the faces are marked up they can't/won't display them. I got all 3 for $0

One idea is to wear one an' show off those rugged Oberst look.
Nice uni's for sure |
nice setup, are you part of a re-enacment group or only airsoft.
|
Actually neither...Although I do own the Marushin Kar98.....I primarily am a collector and have had an interest in German items since early childhood. I have quite a few relatives (Most are deceased now) that served in the Heer and Waffen SS as well as other branches of the German Military durinig WWII. My fascination with the German Wehrmacht started at a very early age and since I have a huge collection of books, paperwork gear and other memorbilia from the Wehrmacht.
|
I think you would find alot of us are interested in your collection. how about you start your own WW2 German memorabilia thread. I for one would like to see it.
|
Consider it done...however I will not be able to get to it until tomorrow...besides I would have to get busy with my digital camera which is not a big deal...so I will start the new thread tomorrow and start posting pics....

Excellent impression
Well done. Not an expert on this period of uniforms, but looks darn impressive to me.
Ever see either of the German made movies; "Stalingrad", "Downfall"? Fascinating portrayals. If you haven't highly recommend you pick them up. Both in German with English subtitles. Incredibly realistic. Stonewall |

The M40 Uniform is not quite complete...I have ordered an authentic Close Combat Bar in Silver for the uniform as well as the Russian Campaign Ribbon for the Uniform. THis uniform is styled after a SS Rottenfuhrer of PanzerGrenadier Regiment 3 Deutchland. It is a historically accurate uniform as this regiment took part in the France, Polish and Russian Campaign during the war.

Yes I own a copy of both Downfall and Stalingrad....Ironically I had a Great Uncle who served in the Heer and was in Stalingrad. He was badly wounded in the leg and was one of the few that was airlifted out. He passed away as a result of his wound in 1981. I had the opportunity to visit him in Germany in 1980 and spoke at great length about his time in Stalingrad. The wound in his leg actually was quite visible even then, as a gaping crater was left in his leg. The doctors had always told him that they wanted to amputate his leg however he would never allow it. My Great Aunt always had to rub special cream into the wound and bandage the wound every day and this was in 1980if you could believe it. Quite an amazing thing.

Just recieved my close combat bar in silver and my russian campaign medal ribbon. Am attaching them to my uniform as I write this and will post pics of the complete uniform in the next 1/2 hour. Stay tuned....looks sharp!
