I'm assuming that's the Toy Soldier IBH? If so how is it?
|
Hey Primnus,
Very good! It is better than the MICH 2002 replica I owned. The straps are a bit sharp at certain points, so you need to just wear it down a bit or else it can scratch up your face in certain spots. The velcro pads they give you are SHIT, but other than that, it is a great piece! Light, and a good fit. |
Cool, cool, how much was it after all was said and done?

Hey Yuxi, what size hat do you wear and how's the fit of the IBH to your head? I take a 7 1/2 and I find the helmets that I have are very tight for me.
Anyone knows if Toy Soldier and Proud are the same. They both sell very similar or identical IBH. |

The helmet according to Godlyspartan looks fairly big on my head actually. No idea how it would fit you, if you were in Toronto you could just drop by and give it a try. From what I hear, the TS and Proud helmets were developed together or something, but no firm answer from me at least. Mine came black, I just sprayed it down with Krylon spray paint. |
The IBH looks big on your head cus you don't have any hearing protectors or a headset on if you did it looks much better. Peltor Comtac's fit nicely.
The TS IBH looks to be casted from a real one, if you look closely behind the ear curve you'll notice 2 bumps which are for the screws for the real ones flipback headset. The pads and straps are shit. Overall the build quality is good. to bad they didn't use the same material for the dummy plates. |
Thanks for checking. Now, how about a pic of how big or not the IBH looks on you with your loadout. :D

Yeah, I will try to get something up so as to show size, but keep in mind, I only weigh like 140, so I am not the best reference for an average size dude. |

If you look at the pics of the IBH in use, on some guyss heads it doesn't look too big, like it looks pretty subdued, I will post pics later tonight when I return home. |
dude, what paints did you use? Fuck... your skulls look fuckin' highspeed. I'm planning on doing a spartan dagger design (frontal area) .. >_< but I need an airbrush!!! ahh

The fit for me isn't that great either. I think its cus we have small Asian heads
|
O yeah check this out as a strap replacement for the IBH its for the ACH/MICH. It may work and its a hell of a lot cheaper then the oregonareo upgrade kit, but no pads.

I hate you.
I wish I had a bloody cvc helmet. so if any of you wankers have one, and it works (ie the actual comms system duh) TELL ME I NEED ONE! I swear if I can get my soviet tanker helmet to work with our vehicles I'd wear that in the lav any day. Greg |

Do you guys recomend the X or H? |
I was reading about those replacement straps from Ops Core a couple days ago on 10-8 and it seems like the X nape is the way to go as it's a bit more comfortable and the stability provided by the H nape is overkill unless you're jumping out of perfectly good airplanes.

The X one looks like the canadian chinstraps...
Gentex also makes an X-harness type replacement chin strap for the MICH/ACH, you might want to get in touch with them and see if its any cheaper. |
Heres a vid from shotshow about Opscore chinstraps.

There's a guy on ebay selling his own version of that retention system. Its installed in my CVC helmet and it's pretty comfortable.
Incidentally the guy doens't seem to know what he's got or what it's worth. edit - it's an SDS suspension in a CVC helmet, not custom. |
Does anyony still manufacture the IBH (the real one that is ) as Dover's website has only a slight mention of it. Any info would be apreciated. Also Has anyone read/heard any comparisons to the MICH 2002 tc or what ever model is the side cut version to allow for a comms system ?
