No more retailers for TM?

Are there no more retailers selling Tokyo Marui guns?
A&A Airsoft never has anything in-stock and they're guns are way over priced. Well at least for the TM stuff.

Are there anymore retailers in Ontario?
Ever since Specarms and Xtreme got raided, its been all downhill...

Its called a Crackdown...

Kid March 27th, 2007 23:57

I think we just get more 'bang for your buck' with CA and ICS, etc.

Plus, retailers can order direct from them, instead of going through a few middlemen for TM.

LUTNIT March 28th, 2007 01:28

Except that currently retailers can't order anything. CBSA cracked down on the importers as Goldman said, there are currently no retailers that can bring guns in in any numbers. 007 has received 4 guns I think in a few months, A&A brought in a couple but nothing in the last month or so, ASCA stopped selling guns a little while ago. Buy used for now, maybe something good will happen in the near future, maybe something far worse, who knows.

Graham March 28th, 2007 01:55

*sigh* I don't know what I'll do with myself if importing gets banned alltogether.

You'll buy a speed boat and move to the coast, or some body of water on the boarder of the US ;)

How is buyairsoft.ca managing to bring so much shit in?

EDIT:
Aslo, Ken said he was importing again. I take it this didn't happen?

Harbinger of Darkness March 28th, 2007 10:30

I was wondering the same thing myself. I wonder if he's gonna get CBSA party vanned as well.

LUTNIT March 28th, 2007 12:08

As far as I know Ken's first "gun order" consisted of 4 guns. buyairsoft.ca brings guns in from the states as far as I know (orange tips and 110V chargers) and I have no idea when or if they get shut down as well.

-Number7- March 28th, 2007 19:30

Yes, Ken is still able to sell Tokyo Marui but he is in Alberta. He got a TM PSG-1 sniper in so thats proof enough.

Ryan Smith March 29th, 2007 01:01

Question......Is there something that we as airsofters can do in an attempt to restore what the government is trying to shut down or "crack down" on.

Ryan

Graham March 29th, 2007 01:10

there are many, many threads on this already. hold tight, and read every new bit of info you can

Ryan Smith March 29th, 2007 01:11

Also, why is it that TM is banned and CA as well as ICS are not? Someone who has the time to answer this please answer. If this question in any way makes you angry I want you to know that I'll be praying for you and your anger issues as well as praying that your flaming tendancies would be distinguished. :)

Thanks......

Ps. The later part of this message was merely a preemptive strike just in case someone feels I am asking a "dumb" question and wants to let me know. ;)

Will do.....not gonna lie, it's really late where i am and i just finished a few hours of homework. Just a bit lazy and lookin for a quick answer.

Thanks

mcguyver March 29th, 2007 01:24

It's not just Marui. If it isn't clear, it's classified as a replica (with a handful of model/size exemptions) and therefore the CBSA says "prohibited" and denies importation. All manufacturers are lumped together in this.

What the remaining retailer decides to bring in is his choice. You can always ask about a special order.

yanhchan March 29th, 2007 11:55

In addition to the speedboat idea. We should make an island in international waters and have games there. NO FPS LIMIT

Prowler March 29th, 2007 16:50

*sigh* and thus began the great airsoft depression of 2007. :|

Just to let you know !

We have a big compagny that organize event for corporate world..

And they had 2 Clear airsoft gun seize and they lost the appeal..

So even Clearsoft is not legal in quebec at least.

JF

aZn_triXta07 March 29th, 2007 17:35

Clearsofts can get seized as they get accessed on a case by case basis, if it's still the same size of the real thing and isn't clear enough; say for M4s I was told the pistol grip must be clear cause in a real M4 that's where the firing mechanism is or something.

bean March 29th, 2007 17:36

A real m4 has a hollow pistol grip. I know because i ripped one clean off.

Hmmm cause I made a thread about clearsoft a while back and that's what someone posted o.O

ThunderCactus March 29th, 2007 18:03

as was stated anything falling under 'not-clear' or 'replica firearm' is seized, and the ways things are its probably not a good idea to even be talking about guns in public.

AAsurplus is still importing, but in limited quantity, sometimes theres just not enough room in a crate to bring in what everyone wants.
get age verified before you send any emails to AAsurplus or your on his ban list.

As for pricing, simply said, demand is high, and supply is VERY low. The more people asking for airsoft, the more it's gonna cost as it's getting more and more difficult to import the stuff.

Double Tapper March 29th, 2007 19:42

i'll have to see about getting a gold card for this,if it can get in the country

There's already one in country, and it's a Dave's military Surplus. It's airsoft and it's just hanging off his wall not being used. He says it fires about 5000 rds/min once it get going. Looked bloody sweet. I hope they resolve this somehow, I'd like to continue my TM collection without having to go used all the time. Next year I want to get a type 89, but that is pending the CBSA loosens up a little.

philstructo March 30th, 2007 02:36

Just move to the states and get Airsoft guns they dont ban anything there

KoolAidMan March 30th, 2007 16:29

OOOHHHH NOOOOOooooooooo.

kalnaren March 30th, 2007 17:30

Anyone think that maybe the CBSA is just flexing it's muscle a bit right now and will loosten up a bit in the future?

KoolAidMan March 30th, 2007 17:54

I hope they do, only a few months until i can finally get my first Aeg's. If they don't it might mean no TM Famas and ICS M4 for me or for anyone , unless they buy used.

ThunderCactus March 30th, 2007 18:52

as long as nobody importing the stuff f*cks up we should be alright. The only reason CBSA put a stranglehold on airsoft is because of a certain someone abusing his import liscene and getting his warehouse raided. Now other importers are limiting sales and being careful about who they sell to. What's safe for importers is better for the airsoft community.

You are aware that the U.S. is facing an AWB on anything that looks like an AW or even anything that has a 20mm rail (shotguns, rifles, whatever), as well as severe mag restrictions, even worse than us. If this bill gets a sponsor, it will likely pass both houses (Democrat controlled) and GWB has already stated publicly he will pass it.

All those nice RAS kits you like will be gone, as well as all the nice toys we like for real guns, like AR stocks, optics, etc.

And they have the 2nd Ammendment to a guaranteed constitution. We have nothing.

zener March 31st, 2007 20:03

I blame the terrorists and 9/11

BTW, just buy used and try not freak out. If you are serious about the sport and dont just want a gun to "have and show off to the guys", be patient, the powers that be are working things out.

Personally I think that this may be good for the airsoft community as it will cleanse the community of the airsofters that aren't verty serious about the sport. In my opinion airsoft is getting too mainstream and an event like this will push it back into an "underground" sport. Bringing it back to where players are 100% serious about playing and not about the "cool, this is just like SOCOM on my PS2 but better, I'm gonna bring my gun outside of my house and shoot it in my backyard".

/rant

I'll go back to lurking now...

I like the looks of it but starting to think of getting ICS AK-74 just more upgrade options for the ak .

Although the ICS has some nice options (such as easy takedown and a charging handle that goes all the way back) I would personally go with the Classic Army if I was to get a gun for the upgrade options.

Most (if not all) upgrades for AKs are made for the Marui, which the Classic Army is a copy of. So the parts made for a Marui will work on the Classic Army.

This cannot always be said with the ICS and you may run into some problems. Especially with externals and even some internals.

KoolAidMan April 1st, 2007 22:14

I would uograde them to around 330-350 fps with 0.25s with light spring and a if possible a 6.1mm tight bore if it could bring around that performance with those upgrades.

Lakonian April 1st, 2007 23:36

off topic, but what's the metal on the ICS M4 like? I -hate- zinc-alloy crap.

Say what you want about it, the FA-MAS is an awsome gun.

/offtopic

I hope things get worked out. I haven't been into airsoft long enough to know what it was like a few years back, but most of you guys say it was better than lol.

I just hope we get some more retailers in soon. Will A&A and 007 do custom gun orders, like if you wanted a specific gun from WGC or something?

Rukus April 2nd, 2007 04:27

I just hope something positive happens soon, or we get a few more retailers back to full capacity on actually having guns in stock. That would be nice.

-Number7- April 6th, 2007 01:46

I honestly would not be worried. This does not seem to be a big issue. As of now Ken has many different Tokyo Marui's coming in soon. Multiple G36c's, P90 and another along with a TM AK-47. you shouldn't get worked up it looks fine to me.

KoolAidMan April 6th, 2007 15:21

look like he is bringing in 10 Aeg's and 6 gbb's.
