New Bang Stick

NEW PICS UPDATED ON PAGE 2

This is my first airsoft rifle. Just arrived at my door about 30 minutes ago!

CA M15A4 SPR with my Glock 19.

Same picture, backed onto my mother's horribly ugly rug for less glare:

Not sure what I am going to do to it yet. I have an R.I.S hand grip, but it is painted camo so I decided not to put it on for the picture. Still have to spray bomb it black. Probably next is a bi pod and some sort of sighting device. I love the look of the AR15 marksman rifles, so I will probably get this heading in that direction.
The Glock already has a metal slide and works fine. So probably just pick up another mag and it will be good to go.

gamz April 12th, 2007 13:11

Very nice. Any barrel wobble?

philstructo April 12th, 2007 13:27

I Like

You must be excited to game it

Pip April 12th, 2007 13:27

Pretty sweet for your first gun :)

Saying I am excited to game it would be the understatement of the year.

Unfortunately, the army is taking up most of my weekends with courses and ex's. So I am only going to be able to get out to a few games with in the next couple months.
Come September I'll be in Petawawa, so I am going to have to find games out that way.

CDN_Stalker April 12th, 2007 13:38

I'd call it more of a "Zip Stick" than a bang stick. Lol, congrats on your new baby!

Lerch April 12th, 2007 14:13

Is it any coincidence that Fortunes Of War was playing at the time I opened this thread up?

Definately a nice rifle, one that I would get should I go for another Armalite.

Amazing KG3 April 12th, 2007 14:44

how do the MAG magazines seat? i ordered a few for my CQB

Lakonian April 12th, 2007 15:33

LOL bang stick? sounds like something you'd use to violate someone with. Nice rifle. I'm not a big fan of the length though. More of a cqb guy.

Moderate April 12th, 2007 18:33

That looks long, but should be wicked to field it ;)

Polo609 April 12th, 2007 18:56

Nice man, i used to have the exact same first setup! A word of advice, hold on to that spr for a while. I loved mine, but decided to let it go and now i regret selling it and buying something else. I placed an aimpoint on mine with high mount. Have fun!
ps a C79 sight replica would look so pimp on that!

I get enough time to play with a C79. Not to mention I absolutely hate them.

Wondering what you guys would think of an M203 mounted on this? I am absolutely torn with what I want to do with it.
Thinking of a long M203 with an Aimpoint replica or a bipod with some sort of scope.
Also thinking of painting the stock, grip, R.I.S grip thingy's and mags a Desert Tan color.

While compared to a M4 it is a long rifle, but I use a C7A1 to clear rooms and I don't find it that bad. Either that or I am just used to the length. And if I ever find myself in a CQB situation I have my Glock on my thigh.

GIVE ME IDEAS! I have money to burn.

attack-beaver April 17th, 2007 21:02

i would myself turn it in to a DMR.

Don't you mean SDM-R. The DMR is a modified and accurized version of the M14 rifle.

Ok I'm wrong the SAM-R would be closer to the DMR.

**Don't mind me. I'm just bored and waiting for supper.**

Oz April 17th, 2007 23:23

http://www.gun-world.net/usa/m16/3rd-inf1.jpg

The world needs more of that. Remember, when it comes to an M203, RIS means wrong, Barrel mount!

As for the paint, throw your barrel cap on, give it an overall meduim spray of tan with some brown then tie a string to the triangle sight and drag it around a gravel parkinglot for a bit.

Erik2 April 18th, 2007 00:20

What is wrong with a RIS mounted M203?

I do like the look of that rifle, minus the PEQ. Not a huge fan of them. And besides, I don't want a ton of crap mounted to the front of my rifle. I figure an M203 would be plenty.

attack-beaver April 18th, 2007 00:58

well it depends on what your going to play in or out door.

Lerch April 18th, 2007 02:36

I'd say don't worry about the M203, it just doesn't suit the long RIS. However, I would suggest a telescopic stock. Pick up a mag pouch from CPGear or someplace for the battery and run with it. Then an Aimpoint on a cantilever or ARMS mount and your laughing!

Erik2 April 18th, 2007 12:39

Almost always will be playing outdoor. Hence why I didn't buy the CQB version.
I was thinking about a crane stock, but we'll see. I need to sort out some type of sight first.

I read that the M203's were not very effective. But they look so damn cool.

if you like you can get the crane stock dummy 203's and store the battery in there.

Erik2 May 7th, 2007 15:17

Here she is after paint and an Aimpoint.

I have not decided whether I will take off the front sight or get a high mount for the Aimpoint. Any suggestions?

On top of my plate carrier with a mag in.

MestHead May 7th, 2007 15:50

Looks fine with front sights.

Lakonian May 7th, 2007 15:54

You should move the aimpoint down to the end of your receiver. I find you don't get tunnel vision as much that way.

Overall, it's a sexy gun.

Amazing KG3 May 7th, 2007 16:12

kos is right, if its too far back, it cuts of your peripheral vision.

Erik2 May 7th, 2007 16:35

I like it where it is. I usually shoot with both eyes open anyways.

The front sight has to come off. The dot in the aimpoint is right in the middle of the front sight. So its either take it off or get a high mount.

Secondary sights should always be available in the unlikely event that your primary optics fail. Having no secondary sights on a magnified optic is unacceptable either.

Your best bet would be to get a high-mount (wilcox style, or LaRue style), and leave your irons in place (front/rear). Don't get caught with your pants down ;)

This is true, but lets remember that this is still just air soft.

My C7 (and nearly all of them in the CF with the exceptions of new Elcans off the line) has the rubber "battle sights" on top of the Elcan broken off.
Sure the battery in the Aimpoint could die, but I wont get killed because I have no red dot when people are shooting plastic bb's at me.

attack-beaver May 7th, 2007 18:15

well if you really want the front site gone hack saw the site off and get folding front and rear sites.

Well it depends how you look at it. See, if I were to look at that gun, I'd see an amateur set-up. Real Steel or not. But, it's your gun. Just trying to be helpful.

Most guys I know in A-stan aren't using the elcan for that reason. It's a piece of shite from a combat marksman's standpoint.

Erik2 May 7th, 2007 18:51

I do agree with you. The Elcan is right up there with the tac vest. They are as useful as a sack of wet cats. And when I go on roto next year the tac vest will be left in my kit bag. I'm not in the infantry so I have no need to change my sight - however crappy it is because I won't be kicking in doors.

But, this is not the real deal and it is just airsoft. If my Aimpoint dies on me during a game, I can walk off and change the batteries in it and be ready to go for the next. Be it I was in theater, I would not think twice about having a backup sight of sorts.

Amazing KG3 May 7th, 2007 19:34

ive got a PDI front sight. very nice. would look funny i think on your though,

Fair enough. And yeah, the tac-vest is a piece of shit. Took a fair bit of time to get the damn pouches off my first time around. Almost cut the damn thing off with the section senior's gerber. Farkin' piss-off.

Which unit are you with (if you don't mind me asking) ?
