Systema Gearbox(Complete) upgrade

Hi, Since my TM M4's been not doing so well, I've decided to do a All-Round upgrade to it.

The thing that I like to start off is the gearbox. To be honest, I have done a lot of dry-firing before, and that might have probably worn out the stock gearbox, more or less. And with all the jamming, I've learned my lesson.

These 2 Systema Complete Mechbox are what I have in mind
SYSTEMA Mecha-Box (Gearbox) 1J (High Speed)
SYSTEMA Mecha-Box (Gearbox) M120 (Torque Up)

And then moving on to the barrel... and hop up sleeves(and of course the rubber)
Deep Fire SS 6.04mm Barrel
Guarder Improved Bucking

Outside Accessories:
5000Round Box Mag for M4-M16 series(Already Purchased)
JBU F8R Tactical Rail for M4/M16 Series(RIS)
Action Armor Rail Panel Set (Black)

And some random Foregrip, probably those "Bipod" integrated ones from HK Ebayers.

If you guys have any advices, I will be very glad to hear it, since I haven't done ANY upgrades myself before.

Thanks, I know I've made alot of threads needing help but, please put up with me :oops:

The Systema M120 mechbox with a KM inner barrel gave me a velocity of 430-440fps with 0.20g when it was installed in a team-mate's M4. I had to replace the spring to bring it down to field limits.

I really don't think the battery that I have right now(Sanyo 8.4v 600mah) would work well with the new gearbox since it seems to be too less of a powerful battery to run it.

So I'm thinking of this battery.

any good?

Skladfin June 23rd, 2007 21:18

anyone?

Renegade) June 23rd, 2007 21:25

yes, a large Sub C pack will help turn over an upped spring. That bat should do fine for u.

Mantelope June 23rd, 2007 21:26

No. Buy yer batteries from www.cheapbatterypacks.com

Do this.

Skladfin June 23rd, 2007 23:16

I see... thanks for the link, I gained some knowledge about batteries....

Their dimension sizes really help.

But I still have one more question... if I buy a 9.6v battery with a small female Tamiya connector(18AWG wire)(Airsoft Version), would it increase the ROF? since Im not changing the wire, i don't know if it would increase the ROF.

Thanks

I have a systema M120 box with a 550mm Prometheus 6.03" barre; and shoot 375 and my buddy has the same box but with a stock barrel (m4) and shoots 330. It's pretty odd. Systema definately has quality control issues!

Could be some air seal loss around your hop and inner barrel if the parts aren't fitting nice and tight.

Not to high jack this post, but didnt want to start a new one...

I just got the 2007 CA M15A4 Carbine and was wondering if the Systema M120 fully gearbox with fit in the CA with out mods. I have heard form dealers that the systema gear box wont fit some CA's...

KEVORKIAN June 24th, 2007 15:27

I do know that the 120 Systema Mecha box fits the CA MP5 = No problem ! My guess is that you shouldn't have any problems yourself with the M15A4.

Jughead June 24th, 2007 17:09

I was told that the older models 2006 and younger have to do some mods.

I have the 2007 CA M15-A4, but am not fully aware of where it stands as for the systema gear box..

If someone has done this upgrade, lets hear from you.

drool must get upgrades.

Skladfin June 24th, 2007 21:12

What would you do in my shoes?

What is the difference between a Systema 120 Gearbox and a custom upgraded gear box with all the new technology and metal pieces.

Systema 120 Gearbox $310 + shipping CDN ( so $325 tops )

Compared too:

Prometheus MS120 spring --> $20

Systema Polycarbonate Piston --> $35

Silicon Piston Head --> $30

Deep Fire Metal Nozzle --> $10

Reinforced Tappet Plate -->$25.00

Tigh bore barrel --> unknown

Systema High Torque Gears --> HAVE

Systema Bearing Spring Guide --> HAVE

ICS 300 turbo and CA high torque motors --> HAVE

Metal bushings --> HAVE

Which way would you go?

I am thinking the best way is build my own...

But are their certain parts that I should order instead of what is listed.

Example- Polycarbonate Piston or Metal Piston

Reinforced gearbox?

Jughead June 26th, 2007 23:29

No not yet, I have two mech boxes I want to snap before buying another reinforced.

1X TM
1X CA ( possibly reinforced ) came with the CA M15A4 2007 make.

I just had a Systema reinfoced gearbox snap in less than a year. And im not the spray the prey type player... I did have a 150% sping in it though. But prior to that , I had a 170% spring in a TM gearbox and it lasted a couple of years with lots of action.

I guess it all goes to if the metal cures properly and with how many metalurgy defects their are.

ive just ordered bunch of upgrades from WGC and chose ground shipping.

is WGC ground shipping trustable? I mean the guy keep reminding me that there's no guarantee, so he kinda scares me....

No one had any problems with WGC ground shipping? or does everyone really pay for that 50USD$ Express Shipping?

Jughead June 27th, 2007 01:10

I usually go ground shipping, and it takes about a week to come to your door. UN company gets their stuff to me by ground in 3-4 days.

But it also depends on what customs thinks.

What all did you order?

Skladfin June 27th, 2007 01:17

Guarder Steel Bearing with Double Oil Channel for All Marui AEG
Guarder Improved Hop Bucking ( 70 ) whats the 70 mean?
PDI Spring 130 for all AEGs ( 140% seemed kinda scary )
Marui 0.2g BB ( 3500 Pellets ) X3 bags
KM 6.04mm TN Inner Barrel for M4A1 (I wanted to go with something without coating and cheaper too but this one was the only 363mm barrel to be in stock)

the guy really scares me when I told him I want ground shipping. First, he changes the payment method to bank transfer(no problem), but then he tells me "no guarantee". Ya that's fine but he then says "it WILL take 60days to arrive"

so I just changed to Airmail, he scares me too much.

And I've been telling him to add the barrel to the order for 3 days now, 1 reply per day through email, and he just ignores my request for the item to be added to the order =(

I hope he gets this one right.

Jughead June 27th, 2007 01:28

He probably gets 100 and some emails a day. So its not that he is ignoring you, just getting his stuff together.

I always use Paypal... best way to go, i feel

Skladfin June 27th, 2007 01:31

he's not ignoring me actually, he recognizes everything else EXCEPT for the request for the barrel.

But I do understand that he gets a lot of orders and doesn't have time for everything *shrug*

But I really hope he gets it right, since this is my first internal upgrade.

ILLusion June 27th, 2007 03:04

Maybe if you followed order policy, you'd get that barrel on there.

Submit a new order to add/remove items.

I've done surface shipping from WGC on multiple occassions. Some orders took as little as 2 weeks. Some took as long as 6 months. It just depends on whether the boat takes a detour and ends up in Africa or not... lol.

I lot of stores (aside from airsoft) in the US want you to pay extra for UPS, Fedex or other useless delivery services. Some don't ever offer regular USPS shipping at all, and when they do, they give these warnings about long delays or parcel getting lost to scare you away.

I've bought thousands of things on the internet during the last decade and nothing beats USPS and Canada Post. They are faster and cheaper, it's as simple as that.

lol...

anyways he got it right this time, and I'm going to the bank today to transfer the money.

Even though I used Airmail this time I think I'm gunna go with ground next time since you guys have such a positive comment about it :P

Thanks alot, I will post again when I receive the items and upgraded it.

The difference between airmail and express was only $9... so I might as well, and I paid with paypal, too lazy to go to the bank, and takes too long to transfer, I've wasted enough time dealing with him to get me my barrel :P

But he's really nice and enthusiastic :)

bruce July 5th, 2007 22:34

Never order BBs from overseas by air. You've got about 3 kg of bbs in that 4 bags which is why you're paying $55 USD in shipping.
