SEI M14SE "Crazy Horse" SASS - aka mk14 mod0 EBR
SEI M-14SE "Crazy Horse" SASS The Crazy Horse Semi-Automatic Sniper System is a project that I've been working towards since Tokyo Marui announced production of the M14 rifle. The amount of time its taken me to get this far has been limited to availability of parts, cost, as well as issues of getting the EBR (Enhanced Battle Rifle) kit in to the country. Anyways, I'm not going to go on too much about the details on the real steel, the weapon was designed and created by Sage International, Ltd. in cooperation with Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division, to fulfill a five-year Crane contract for a modernized, product improved M14 rifle system to be integrated as an SDM (Squad Designated Marksman) weapon. You can read all about it here: http://www.smithenterprise.com/products02.html And now, on to the pictures of newborn baby: http://www.pbase.com/illusive_airsof...5257/large.jpg http://www.pbase.com/illusive_airsof...9/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/illusive_airsof...5270/large.jpg http://www.pbase.com/illusive_airsof...5262/large.jpg http://www.pbase.com/illusive_airsof...5258/large.jpg http://www.pbase.com/illusive_airsof...5260/large.jpg http://www.pbase.com/illusive_airsof...5264/large.jpg http://www.pbase.com/illusive_airsof...5268/large.jpg http://www.pbase.com/illusive_airsof...5265/large.jpg http://www.pbase.com/illusive_airsof...5266/large.jpg http://www.pbase.com/illusive_airsof...5267/large.jpg http://www.pbase.com/illusive_airsof...5271/large.jpg http://www.pbase.com/illusive_airsof...5272/large.jpg Parts list: Gun: Tokyo Marui M14 Chassis / Stock / Outer Barrel / Glow Front Sight / Flash Hider / Grip: G&P EBR MK14 Mod 0 Conversion Kit - replica of the Sage International, Ltd. Darn it... thanks for the heads up...
|
On my pc, pictures work only with firefox and not with internet explorer
btw, very nice riffle ! :) |
Holy crap, thats insane! I love it. Very massive, yet compact.
Now if only it was a full stroke gas blowback ;) Care to share the cost? |
That's the nicest EBR setup I've ever seen! Nice job man.
|
Wow...simply amazing setup there. How's the weight on it with all the extra parts?
|
Silencer looks funny. Can't close down the QD on your flashider?
|
Would that flash hider and silencer work on an armalite?

Thanks for the compliments, guys.

And a bit of blood. I'll see if I can get a cost up later, I just did one for my PTW and I wasn't happy. I don't feel like going double-sadness by looking at the EBR cost too... Quote:

It's a VFC DC suppressor, but the flash hider on there is the G&P one that came with the kit. G&P is stupid in that they love to use positive threading, whereas the rest of the industry uses negative threading... as a result, I can't attach my VFC flash hider on to the EBR kit (without an ugly adapter). And the G&P flash hider's DC (direct-connect) channel is a bit too narrow to allow the arms of the suppressor to clamp down on it. I have to widen the channel and make it about 50 thou. deeper. So in a sense, the gun's not fully complete, yet. Have to refab the flash hider, paint it, and get a bipod mount... :( Quote:

When you plan on selling let me know! Another beautiful gun man.
|
Thanks alot man! Been looking for a cool suppressor that would attach easily without the need to remove the flash hider. :D
|
funny thing with a toy version that shots plastic...
the real thing is much cheaper lol 1300$ for the real thing http://www.canadiangunnutz.com http://img513.imageshack.us/img513/5...05sage1bh9.jpg NICE WORK! |

That is truely awesome. At first I really didn't like the EBR too much, but this has definetly changed my opinion. Great work.
|
The real steel EBR's plastic handguard is not installed the same way ILlusion's is.
|
Quote:
On mine, it's attached by 3 bolts at the bottom, attaching to a rail that runs along the bottom of the handguard. |
one the them is backwards.....
http://www.gun-world.net/usa/r/m14/sage_ebr.jpg the first real steal is the wrong way http://bastardsinc.blogs.com/photos/...scout_ebrb.JPG bri aka ILLusion has it the right way |
Very nice Brian. My turn to say it...
DAMN YOU!!!! Oh well, my ebr kit is on the way so I'm not too jealous :D |

The G&P mk14 mod0 conversion kit which I used, is a replica of the current Sage rifle chassis design, which is shorter and easier handling than the original full sized Sage EBR. The current SEI Crazy Horse design uses the shorter "ChopMod" style rifle chassis. |
Here's some pictures of the real deal Smith Enterprise, Inc. M14SE "Crazy Horse" SDM, just so you have an idea of how close I got my replica (the first image is what I based the build off of):
http://www.smithenterprise.com/images/m14se.008.jpg http://www.smithenterprise.com/images/MK14-SEI-1.jpg Pictures linked from the Smith Enterprise site: http://www.smithenterprise.com Here's some trivia: Above the rear pistol grip, behind the receiver, you'll notice a set of rails located there. Any idea what those rails are for or what could be mounted there? My only guess is to attach RIS-mounted sling mounts... agree? disagree? |
man your front sight is ten times much better than the RS one.
|
Illusion, I was trying to calculate all those parts on that gun... but then my calculator screen cracked cause it can't believe how much that gun cost
... nice job on the gun :D |
Hot shitz! It's looking mighty good Brian. Might just have to get one for Christmas if I can wait that long.
I do believe that the rail on top of the sliding stock housing is used for NVs with a special high mount . I've seen a pic of this before but can't remember which forums I saw it in. |
After doing some thinking about the timeline, I'm back to being uber-happy about this gun:
The first image that I originally showed of the real steel versions was the first image that SEI released of one of their projects. This used the old Sage EBR at that time, which was a larger EBR - it's the same one shown in Metro's image. It also incorporated that older style ring-type front sight at the time. Sage, Inc. then released the "ChopMod" version of the rifle chassis and dropped the older, larger, heavier & bulkier design. The revised chassis was shorter and balanced out the gun much better. Smith Enterprises, in conjunction with Sage, integrated the new chassis in to the SEI product. The old SEI Crazy Horse image was removed from the site some time in 2006 or perhaps early 2007. Smith Enterprise had also picked up tritium bar combat front sights, which they further began to integrate in to their flagship product. http://www.smithenterprise.com/image...t_Sight.lg.jpg Once integrated in to a product sample, a new photo was taken, which is the second photo I showed - I've since removed the original first photo and put the modern image as the first image. I noticed this image was posted on the SE site some time earlier this year. On closer inspection of that tiny resolution image, you can see that the current Crazy Horse configuration uses the newer "ChopMod" length chassis, as well as the tritium glow sight... and so, my replica is being back to being a very close replica. :D On that note... I think I may have to get me one of these tritium glow sights to put on my replica... pwuahahaha |
GAWD DAMN it!!!! I want an EBR!!!!
|
That gun is simply awesome! Please post some pics of your load out holding this thing.

|
Illusion, I must say, you have the nicest guns on this forum. Keep up the good work.
|
Nice Girl
must say what a beaut she is |
I'd guess the small rail is to atach a backup sight, like a small Doctor red dot.
Or it could be there because otherwise, it would be lost space. |
Not likely for a back-up sight as 1- Sight would be obstructed by the main rail/chassis and everything on it 2- The sight would be directly in line with your shoulder instead of your face. Most likely to be the second option, had space to put rails, so they did... hehe
|
oh man, where can i find a doctor's sight mount like that? i want to run almost the exact same dual-optics tier on my m4!
