Eh bud.

Only buy from retailers who are In-Country. If you try to import it, it'll get seized, and you will be black listed.

Your best bet would probably be to get verified. There's a few JG MP5s on sale right now. Pretty cheap too.

nost88 October 3rd, 2007 01:06

oh really? shit, thanks for the heads up

dodger_me October 3rd, 2007 01:06

Lots of third party B.S. Brokerage, and what-not.

Save yourself the hassle. It's reaaaally not worth it.

nost88 October 3rd, 2007 01:17

whats a good canadian supplier?

ive found 007airsoft...but their guns cost a little too much for what i want

Outcast569 October 3rd, 2007 01:30

007 is your best bet man. Ive been looking at the MP5 A4 for a while now and my buddies fiance has it aswell and Its a good solid gun. She got hers from 007. Personally Id pay the price tag on the more expensive gun, seems that you get what you pay for from alot of sites like those. Plus if you look at the review on the site you linked he is talking about the SD6 not the A4 thats being sold. That alone should tell you that there not even bothering with quality on there site so chances are there product might not be that great.

skalnok October 3rd, 2007 01:49

get age verified and buy a second hand gun from one of us on the site already

Outcast569 October 3rd, 2007 01:53

Hey man I know the student problem lol But if you really want to get into it then look for a gun that you want and look REALLY REALLY hard on sites like this one and others. Chances are you'll find a 2nd hand one thats in good shape and possible already modded for you. Airsoft dosnt seem like the hobby to cheap out on. if you cant afford it now then save up for how and get one. Thats what im doing. I rent a gun when I go out for my games right now till I have the cash to get my new gun.

Same, but like Ancorp said, it's not easy for everyone to do.

Use it, and stop looking to be spoon fed.

I got into Airsoft during my final year of uni. It is amazing what a diet of cheap food (lay off the steak and junk food) and not drinking for the year can do for your budget. Do you really need to go to that concert, go to that club, go to to restaurant, eat out every weekend, or go into town every other day?

If you get verified and become a participating member of a local club, I am sure that you will be able to get a decent kit together for around $600. Buy a used gun, grab some used repo camo, get a used load-bearing, and you are set, look great, and can play with the best of them.

DON'T buy crapsoft. It will crap out on you, turn your playing experience to crap, and waste your money making you feel like crap. If you are budget strapped, JG or the chinese clones will work, but something reliable for slightly more is always better.

(Warning, once you start, you will get hooked. You will continue to cut back on other expenses to feed your addiction, thus preparing you even better for life out of school)

Yes. A lot has to be said for a proper budget.

Cassius October 3rd, 2007 16:15

Airsoft is easy, all you need is alot of money.

If you're buying a gun and it's not the gun you would really really want but you're buying it because of a tight budget then don't.

It's all about the stuff you like and think that looks cool so hold it for a little longer until you can afford that kick ass gun of yours that you want.

Best thing is of course to be age verified because you can get amazing deals in there!

Moz October 4th, 2007 00:34

get age verified. I just sold a gun for a very low price because I broke the stock of being an idiot. Maybe you'll be luckly and I'll break another one after you get verified.

dodger_me October 4th, 2007 00:37

*Offtopic*
Moz Do you have a review on hello kitty i am looking at buying it as bf2 is beginning to bore me(No not literaly -_-)

Mr. G36! October 4th, 2007 21:08

I know this isn't exactly "directly related" to the original topic, but it's better than making a new one.

Anyway, I think I'm in the market for an MP5A5, and I was going to go with TM, but I read a review on the earlier versions of that gun and it said that they have an external hop-up adjuster. I don't like that. So now I'm looking at the CA B&T MP5s, but first I want to know if someone can verify that the current TM MP5A4/5 models do indeed have external hop-up adjusters, or if they've been altered and now have an internal one.

It's kinda related, right? I mean, JG MP5A4 is the same as the TM one, which is what I'm asking about, right? Yay!

Greylocks October 5th, 2007 06:15

The 'external' part is a very practical small lever (almost invisible) that you can access to adjust the hopup without taking the gun apart. I dont understand why you would not want such a useful feature?

The MP5 series does not have a trapdoor or panel that would allow reaching the hopup like the M4/M16 series or the G3.

Well, for me, experience shows that I'll be creeping through the woods, spot a target, carefully take aim...and shoot a BB up into space, or my own toes. I agree that it's much easier than pulling and holding an awkward lever back to adjust, or, in the case of an MP5-K/PDW, actually removing an entire panel, but I'm weird like that.

Classic Army's B&T MP5 models do, I believe.

Greylocks October 5th, 2007 11:04

This is not something that catches on branches, stop worrying until you see one in person.

Outcast569 October 5th, 2007 11:58

I think the tiny switch is like 2-4 mm. Look up MP5 on you tube I saw it on there for some guy selling his MP5 A4. You'd have more luck ripping off your scope and top rail before even coming within like 2 inches of the hop-up switch
