How Many Mags do you Carry?
...
|
The games I attend usually have an imposed ammo restriction of 330 rounds for anyone but LMG operators. But usually its either 330rounds or or as many low caps you can carry. I usually carry 5x 68 rounds, fire off 10 during crony and Im good to go. I could carry my locaps but I just hate the plasticy look at feel. I perfer my metal ones.
But we usually dont count pistol mags into the round count and I carry three of those with 20 rounds each. |
I take pretty much the same load out as Seven but i only take one addition pistol mag with me.
|
Depends on the rig I am using. Lately I've been using my Danish M84 kit exclusively as my Arktis 1601 can take the gas bottle for my Sun Project M16. Since reloading that thing is fun as hell, I use nothing but Star realcaps and a couple of extra lowcaps. The vest holds 16 mags total. If I'm using my Swedish M90 chest rig it can only hold 9 mags in the pouches. Occasionally I'll put a few into the side pouches but they're difficult to manipulate under fire.
I will never short-change myself on magazines; if there's space to carry them, they'll be there. |
Eight mid caps in both C9 pouches (16) + 12 mid caps in modded mag pockets (12) + 4 additional pistol mags. (CF Issue Tac Vest)
I resemble a Cadpat buffalo when I'm steaming through the under brush... :D |
8 lowcaps for me plus one in the gun....
|
I have an LMG so the 330 round limit here doesn't apply to me, so I carry:
1x 330 round hicap 4x 80 round standards 1x pistol with 24 round mag 1x Loader with ~120 rounds |
Depending on the Game as some games have Limits.. When I don't have Limits... and depending on the gun I am using.....
When I am playing with one of my MP5's (I have 3) I carry 9-30round low caps (270rounds) 1-100 round Mid Cap (100rounds) 2-220 round High caps (440rounds) 1-150 King Arm Speed Loaders (150rounds) Total=960 When I carry my M4 8-100 round mid caps (800 rounds) 1-300 round High cap (300 rounds) 1-150 King arm Speed Loaders (150 rounds) total: 1250 rounds Also usually my G18c with a 23 round low cap.. and a Hi-cappa which is 25 rounds Again. I just hate the feel of a empy vest.. so usually all my pouches are full that's why soo many rounds.... some people say its over kill but meh... I have been through all of them on a 25 min game.... |
I only use standard G36 magazines, because they're so fucking cool!
Five mags x 50 BBs each = 250 BBs. I'd still like to get two more though, so it'll be seven mags; 350 shortly. |

Uhhh......12 RRA 10/30 rounders in 5.56. :D

For airsoft: 14 lowcaps in the rig (12 in the front, two on the back for prone or buddies), one in the gun, one in the dump pouch, one in a leg pocket. |
12 tec 9 mags
|
7x M14 Mags (70rds) 3x G19 thats it.. also my M14 is Semi Only.

Now for the RRA's. They are mmmm perfect. Not a single hickup at all with them. They feed everything into anything no problems at all. |
6 G36 Mags, totalling 400 rounds (4x 50rd and 2x 100rd). And as soon as I get them fixed, 3 pistol mags totallying 84 rounds (28rds each).
|
I started with the 300 round high cap that came with my M4 and a pistol mag or two when i got an extra now i carry two hi caps 1 has been moded to keep it quiet so id say about 500 rounds when i use my MP5 its a 50 rnd and a 100 round and a 200 round speed loader.
with that bein said I would like to get 8-12 real caps for each to keep with the realism and make for a more tactical game not just spray and pray but first ill need a good rig to carry all that crap. a hi cap or to is fine for a pic up game but if your gonna do a mil sim i would suggest some real or mid caps |
I go for realism so I only carry 2 hicaps
|
Hicaps are realism? Lol!
|
10-14 locaps (loaded in real caps)
2 extra pistol mags |
When I had my mp5, I owned 10x50 rd mags.
My SR15/M16a4 currently has 4xmidcaps (2x110 +2x130), but I'm going to buy either a box of realcaps or midcaps to fill out my fest. My AK74 (which has yet to arrive) has 5x100 rd mags. And again, I'll also buy either a box of realcaps or midcaps to fill out the vest. All my pistols have 2 mags (G19, Mk23, Para 14.45), which works out to something like 50 rounds each. |
For my MP5s, I have three TM high caps, two G&P midcaps, four TM locaps and four MAG midcaps. All AEG mags are loaded with 12-20 (depending lo or mid) red .12g BBs to use as low ammo tracers (helps me avoid dry firing), then fill with 0.28g BBs, so my mid caps tend to equal Armalite locaps.
Literally, I mix and match for what the game rules are (although my hicaps are rarely used at all, unless it's a loaner for someone who doesn't have much). Two games ago the rules called for 600rds max, so I ran all six midcaps and two locaps. Pistols, I have six mags for my KSC G19, have a second mag on the way for my KSC MK23, and I usually carry about two 25rd mags for my CA M24. ^^^ Yes, I carry all those when I play, because they all get used.^^^ :D |
One setup I have has a smallish CP Gear Alamar chest rig that holds 6 mags. I also have a ready mag on my M4, so that's 8 mags total. Pretty good setup and you don't wind up looking like the Michelin Tire man.
Another setup I have is a chest rig and cummerbund that can carry 28 mags. That's a lot of weight and encumberance, and almost never needed, even during a 24 hour milsim. I just picked up an SO Tech chest rig that seems much more comfy than the Alamar, and holds a few more mags. Haven't tried it out yet, but the design and distribution of load seem exactly what I've been looking for. I also rigged up a quick change box mag system for my 249. It's actually faster to change box mags on the airsoft one that it is to change real mags on the real one. Pretty cool. And the mod for 3000 rounds per box is a nice added touch. Now I just need a game day that will allow all that. |
i carry 5 100rd star mags,4 tm metal mags, one m4 bbloader. 3 pistol mags for the usp,one socom mag,one tm bb loader for the pistols. funny thing about the star mags, pieces missing from one,one chipped feeder tip on another, they split open when you fill them, but i swear by the ics gods that they never misfeed. liked the star mags so much that when i went back to get buy a couple more i GAVE my high cap to the store owner!

The more mags, there better. I am really tired of field loading, nothing ruins the mood more than someone whipping out a bag of BB's and dumping them in a high-cap... (though I do keep a few around for fun games)

8 locaps ( taped by 2) for the mp5 or 6 locaps for the AUG.
I never use any hicap, I hate them. they all fit in my cheapo noname tactical vest. |
When I had my AK I had 3 TM lowcaps (70rds each) and I carried a highcap as a backup. All went on the front of my vest. Plus I had my pistol with 3 mags total... damn I miss playing.
|
For my AK-74
High-caps 2 x 600 = 1200 bb Mid-caps 5 x 130 = 650 bb For my M1911A1 3 mags x 26 = 78 bb TOTAL : 1928 bbs |
i use 5 TM aug locaps, and 1 kjw m9 mag
|
For my PTW I will be carrying 7 120rd mags, 6 in the vest and one in the gun
For my ICS I carry 7 68rd mags, 6 in the vest, one in the gun plus I carry a small bag of BB's and a loader. |
M14 -
3 70rounders on my belt, 1 in my gun = 280. My M14's Semi only.. So I tend not to blow through too many mags. |
2 hi-caps clamped together by themselves.
for SIG 552 =660 rounds 2 USP magazines =50 rounds |
Due to personal prefrence, i only carry gbb's
-9 ksc glock mags -2 tm 1911 mags 4 maruzen m11 mags (now all sold to hypercube) |

PTW: 7x120rd
G&P M4SF: 9x120rd G&P, pinned at ~60rd so they feed better CA33E: 8x80rd Stuff I used to own: WA SVI: 4x33rd |

HK11: 10 mags (700)
M4: 12 mags (816) M249: only need the one box mag(2500), but i try to carry 6 extra M4 mags, both to fill up those empty pouches and reload the riflemen in my squad. |
I carry all I have...3 P-90 mags and 2 92FS mags.
|
10x 65rd mid caps
4x lowcaps 2x pistol mags |
I have a Marui M14, and have 8 440 round hi caps. I've never shot more than 1500 rounds in a day, so I now just take 4 of them and a bag of BBs, just in case :)
|
With the way I have my Ciras setup, I carry for my M4 27 Star 85rnd mags. And yes, I have gone threw just about all of them in one day, the firefight we had once at the barn saw almost 20 people and a good amount of ammo. As Nachopudding said that day, in that 20 min firefight we must have used $80-$100 worth of bb's between both sides firing into and out of the barn, even one of the game admins said that it looked like a solid wall of bb's going either way, and even saw a few hit in mid air.

??????? |
in my current set up, i run 12 20rd G3 and one in my gun so thats 260
plus my 2 USP mags at 25 so thats 50 right there. totalling 310 i normally run that at most games, i have my 550rd high cap witch normally gets brought out for skrims and loan mag to another player with a G3. i always have to laugh when i see people with M4 high-caps that carry more then my entire rig. but i'm a realism whore to say the least. |
i carry 8 g36 lowcaps and one highcap.
|
Fidget11: top gear FTW!!
but anyways i carry average 2 GBB mags and 7 midcaps |

Wannabe M14E2 squad automatic weapon? http://www.dogfightink.com/m14e2.jpg |
I carry 9 120rnd PTW mags, plus at least 1 loader (usually 3), 2 cylinders and at least 1 spare battery. The lightest rig I own is a TT MAV with DZ pouches and it weighs 20 pounds. With that same gear in an HSGI Denali add 10-15 more pounds with water and a few extra do-dads like bug spray, extra BBs, radio, etc.
And it kickes the shit out of me for a full day with that and an 11+ pound gun. |

And that would have HORRIBLE control (7.62mm)! The M14 is bad enough in bursts! |
