Leapers M4 scope on a Famas

Ok i did some searching and found nothing, so i was wondering would the leapers 4x20 m4 scope fit on the tm famas? Second I don't want anybody putting in comments saying "o the famas is horrible" I dont care what you think you it just will this scope fix. (I got alot of that on neasg)

Thanks-Alex

You have the scope mount right?
If so it shouldn't be a problem

cablackfire October 23rd, 2007 22:41

Yeah I have it but its leveled weird and my scopes just don't sit on it properly plus i want something that sits very low on the rail shouldn't the m4 scope sit on top no scope rail?

The FAMAS isn't horrible, the people who are telling you that are 'tards. Mine stacked up against a $2000 RW custom SPR, no problem.
Also, it won't fit on. There's nothing that would make it fit, minus the aftermarket scope mount, that would allow it to- the handle is absolutely nothing like the M4 one, as well. That's why I replaced mine with a G36C carry rail.

I presume you mean one of these:

I know someone who got that scope to mount on a FAMAS by drilling a hole into the carry handle, but honestly that scope just doesn't seem like it's worth the trouble.

As Bob suggested, get a FAMAS scope mount base, and then you'll have a rail to install whatever optics you choose.

Pic of real FAMAS with an aimpoint, doesn't look half bad IMO: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...e_2REI.jpg.jpg

ACOG then? I found a 4x one worked great on the FA-MAS.

Once again, I don't think there's ANY sights that'll fit on the FAMAS without getting the scope rail or modding it.

cablackfire October 24th, 2007 19:01

Yeah I see for now ill stick with the iron sights or a red dot maybe a acog later how does the acog look ok the famas? and question how far does your famas shoot stock?

Bob the Angry Potato October 24th, 2007 19:22

Never really measured, but it fires quite far. Further then most AEGs, including the M4, G36 and AK when the hop-up's adjusted right.

Also, I couldn't say, I've only put it on my FA-MAS and it doesn't exactly look like others (click my sig link for an idea).

looks like a aimpoint on it? o also the silencer thing what d*mn part is that i'v looked everywhere cuz i wana buy it to have a silencer on instead of the barrel thing o also how does the barrel part come off...?

It's a TM tracer unit, there's an adaptor so it can fit over it.

WGC has threaded adaptors, too.

Also, the flash hider comes off by unscrewing a small screw at the bottom, and a lot of brute force. Not sure how you can get the barrel off, but I'm sure it's possible- I took the FA-MAS apart screw by screw before once, just to see where things go. Didn't really do much with the barrel assembly, though.

If you've got the rail installed, there's nothing stopping you from using a low power scope (I just posted the Aimpoint as a suggestion as to what could be done with the rail installed); you could easily mount an ELCAN or a compact scope like this:

As far as stock power, it's similar to other stock AEGs. The barrel length on the FAMAS is just a bit shorter than an M16. Somewhere in the range of 30m or so.

And the outer barrel... to remove it, there's a screw. It's near/under the front sight, as I recall. But anyway, you unscrew it and it just comes off.

cablackfire October 24th, 2007 20:57

Awsome also does a silencer fit over the outer barrel? if so then do i just buy the adapter and a silencer and im good or should i go with the tracer unit/is the tracer unit worth buying?

Edit: it came with the flash hider off so its easy to get off.

Drake October 24th, 2007 22:16

The problem with silencers on the FAMAS is that the barrel isn't threaded. (the TM tracer unit comes with an adapter)

If you're really keen on getting a silencer on there, I'd suggest the Madbull Gemtech HALO QD suppressor, which attaches to most military-style flash hiders, so you don't have to worry about threading. Airsoftparts.ca has some in stock.

cablackfire October 24th, 2007 22:30

I know but i want a silencer that will cover my outer barrel.

mcguyver October 24th, 2007 22:41

The Leaper's T168 is a 3X scope that fits either a rail or the inside of an AR carry handle. You can drill either 1,2,or 3 holes and mount the T168 that way.
It would take about 2 minutes to do it, if you're slow.

cablackfire October 25th, 2007 18:15

yeah i could drill but ill just buy a cheap scope i think or maybe a acog.
