My almost complete AK-103 (not 56K friendly)
So I splurged on another AK. No surprises there. The build is almost nearing completion.
External parts: Cyma CM.031 base Element AK-74 metal body King Arms metal front end kit ICS steel ribbed top cover ICS bolt carrier ICS trigger guard MAG AKM bakelite RS German flip-up AK night sights RS SKS sling Internal parts: ICS gearbox shell ICS gears ICS metal bushings Guarder SP110 The rest is Cyma (including barrel/hop) Refinishing: Since this model AK is not blued by the Russians, I decided to keep the stock flat black paint, but since the real one's is fairly glossy, I polished mine to some extent to try to match that look. Came out more authentic then flat black anyway. Things need to be done/bought/changed/etc: Some black polymer 7.62 mags Smooth top, but flared top cover TM or clone gearbox shell (ICS won't mesh well with TM clone hopup, resulting in 150fps instead of 400) Element bearing spring guide Another stock (to replace the broken one), but it's not that important. On with the pics: http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...3/DSC02572.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...3/DSC02573.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...3/DSC02574.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...3/DSC02579.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...3/DSC02577.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...3/DSC02578.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...3/DSC02581.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...3/DSC02582.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...3/DSC02586.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...3/DSC02599.jpg Can't end it without some gay gear pose, I mean c'mon, it IS ASC, ain't it? Heh, that'd be all for now. Thanks for lookin'! Cheers, Alex |
Wow Ancorp, nice! Yet another wonderfully budget AK that still shines!
|
Thanks mate, I knew you'd like it! It sure needs a TM gearbox shell... :(
|
my many AK packages for sale have TM shells... hehe
you AK whore you, nice work (as always) NOW make an AN-94! put your skillz to tha teztz |
Alex, ya bastard. I'm going to steal your AKs.. ALL of them.
|
Thanks gents. AN-94 is not like this build, where you just put a bunch of parts together and then work from there, everything has to be custom made, or from a parts kit (good LUCK finding one, anywhere in the world).
Kos, you don't know where I li... ah damn it. Fine, they're yours. |
Very very nice!
|
i hope my AK looks even half as good as yours does.
|
Cat?
Very nice AK! |
You and your AK's.. make me jelous :(
|
As soon as I saw ancorp had made a new post with pictures of one of his projects, I knew it would end with me crying.

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...3/DSC02569.jpg Thanks for the comments guys. There is a lot less work in this AK then there is in my AKM build (for which a big update is coming, the package I've been waiting for for almost a month, finally hit up my local sortation plant, hopefully here in a couple days). I still prefer wooden AKs, but this polymer look is starting to grow on me. |
LOL. wicked cat.
even better AK =O Like beaver said...hope mine looks half as good. |
The cat is awsome-er!
|
Are you gonna try and make a folding polymer stock?
|
i think to do a folding full stock he need an entirely new lower.
|
Gosh...ancorp...this gun is too beautiful...
I wish that I have the same skills... Damn you... |

God dammit!!! I'm having such a hard time getting my hands on an ICS bolt and you. YOU!! you come up with another AK WITH AN ICS BOLT!!!!!
I hate my life! The only bolt I found was on evike at 24$us with 70$ shipping!!! The contact you gave me was unable to get one so I'm boltless!! BOLTLESS! ...nice AK.... |
Thanks again guys. No I won't be able to make it folding, as I'd need a new lower as mentioned, for the correct stock mount and catch. As well as then I'd have to give up a large battery, as polymer folding stocks have a big indent on them for the scope rail. And if I give up the large battery, I give up the ICS bolt, which is a big no go.
As for the ICS bolt's, that's my 4th :P Have one on the AKM, one on the 103, and sold the other 2 (sorry mate, there are others on the list before you that wanted them big time) And I say again, my AKM is the one that needed "skills", the AK-103 was an easy build that most people here could accomplish after some part hunting, and some elbow grease. |
Hahaha, nice pose.
|
Stop making me wanna buy things I can't get.
|
Can you let me know where to get those rs night sights??
thanks :) |
|
two words. Bad ass... Nice job.
