Wooohoo - AEG Arrived!

TM AUG CQB

I bought it from steve_keene here on asc; works perfectly and looks even better! It has as an incredible feel to it; weighty and very comfortable.

I have bb's on the way from BBS and a charger on the way from WGC; I'll be good to game in a few weeks time!

Absolutely cannot wait >.<

Looks nice, I've always liked the AUG over other bullpup designs. You planning to get another scope? Maybe a 553 and magnifier :D

Bowers May 14th, 2008 13:28

im not a fan of bullpups personally but she is certinly a beauty

so whats with the random pistol mag? lol

Sha Do May 14th, 2008 13:28

Let me know if you need some spare parts...I have extra tappet plates, a nozzel, and some other small internal parts for an AUG, just in case.

Shirley May 14th, 2008 13:34

Very nice, and congratz. You just upgrade to a longer maginfy scope. :D

tycho May 14th, 2008 13:44

Yeah - I'll get a mag. scope for outdoor play.

And that's the bb loader, not a mag :P - it came w/ 4 locaps, I just didn't put them in the pic :S

Gigaknight May 14th, 2008 13:51

Not bad... I'm sure you'll have plenty of fun with it.

Thats a bb loader.

TM Augs are awesome. Full metal, realistic field stripping. Not a lot of TM AEGs can qualify for both.

With that barrel a scope would be an utter waste...

You may want to look into a red dot site... Or plain old irons..

I find irons are most useful for outdoors...

KNIVEZS May 14th, 2008 21:37

nice, clean lookin gun

BBS May 14th, 2008 21:37

congrats! enjoy the Excel .23g and bastards. I'm interested in hearing your response on the .23g.

Cheesevillage May 14th, 2008 22:32

On the subject of irons vs red dot vs scope - I've always wondered how HK style sights (picatinny rail 416) would work on an aug. Are the aperatures different from an MP5 or is there a standard "CQB" size which would work with such a short distance between the sights?

It would also be possible to extend the rail forewards to the end of the gun.

Damn thats a good idea...

Well not 100%, but the barrel twists and slides out, and the receiver comes out of the stock with the push of a button, as per real steel (correct me if I'm wrong). I don't think any other TM gun does it so "realistically".

Thus I love my TM AUG Military.

A very good point - I was thinking of a low mag. scope; something like 1.5x or 2x (maybe up to 3x) just to help with target acquisition. Believe me, I have no delusions of hitting a dime hole at 150 yards, heh.

And that is a RDS - or were you talking like, one of those small reflex RDS?

BBS - I'll definitely try to note the differences between the .23 and .25, but I think it will take me a little while to give to an educated opinion of them!

yep, you can come at a game with two barrels (long and short) and change them in 2 seconds.
Since each one supports its own hop-up, you can even set the long barrel for .25 and the short one for .20 bbs.

pusangani May 14th, 2008 22:49

thats really nice,so basically you could use it for cqb and outdoor too!

I wish my ak could do that :(

You are correct, sir. I'm still going to get a Military AUG. The civ is nice, but the integrated scope is just tops for looks.

The one thing I have to find out regarding this aeg is whether or not I have to change any of the internals should I want to put a standard length barrel on it. I did a brief google search looking for CQB info; but I'm assuming (hoping) that it's just stock internals.

Anything on that website would work, REALLY really well on your AUG (+ the shop is in canada, and has amazing prices!)

I find any magnification to be too much... Just to give you an Idea... When I use a scope on my sniper rifle (I normally use Iron sights, even on that) I only use a 3X zoom.

if this is a stock CQB version, the piston head is not ventilated and you might want to ventilate it so that a longer barrel doesn't create any suck back.

warning: some scopes don't fit on the AUG rail because it's quite badly conceived.
you might also want to double check that before buying.

Yeah, I agree with the iron sights, especially for CQB, but in terms of a scope being usess...I'm not so sure.
My old AUG had a PSG1 inner barrel covered with a 10 inch silencer and tweeked up to 400 fps with all SYSTEMA internals. I removed the fold down handle and had a shop mill me a bipod mounting block to fit into the handle bracket and threw on a nice 3.5-9X by 52 scope, and man I started to scare a crap load of people at games.

I'll bet that that CQB AUG's inner barrel is the length of an M4's or just 1 inch shy (regular length AUG has an M16 inner barrle length), and a 3X or 4X scope would be just perfect for outdoor use.

I don't use an iron sight and I kill quite a number of people. Usually 2~4 kills per death. I never need to use my iron sight...

The reason for this is because I flank, I literally walk around the enemy pack and avoid any direct contact until I get behind the enemy sqaud or platoon or group or whatever.

And when I'm behind them, I can just walk up to them and slap them in the face...
