Decent Paint Job?
I just bought a couple springers cheap from Walmart to paint and keep in my room as models and whatever.
Tell me, does the paint on these guns look decent? If not, how could I change it? ( M4A1 / Mark IV ) http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/a...tM4A1MK-IV.jpg |
meh not to shabby a job i spose
|

you can paint the trademarks like ex M4a1 and Colt to give it a little more real look
|
Paint doesn't look bad at all.
Gun looks like crap. |
Quote:
I'll just find a logo and stencil that on. |
Quote:
That's what you get at Walmart, Lol. Any ideas for changing them/it? |

2. Get a decent gun. 3. Don't put an RDS on the front rails when you have a carry handle on the receiver. :D |
Quote:
nothing can really be done about that though its a springer its cheap quality thats just it really for a wall hanger its good enough i spose but its got nothing on a high quality aeg in the looks department alone you could always add some shit to the rails |

I do have an AEG XM8, and I have a TM VSR-10 on its' way to me right now, I just didn't wanna f**k with the gun I'm happy with. That's just so I don't get flamed for having an M4 springer. =P |
Quote:
the xm8 is either firepower or BE right? |
Quote:
The XM8 is from my friend, I bought for like.. $180 or something like that. I bought it last year. I believe it's SRC. I bought the VSR-10 From 007Airsoft. |
With a very quick glance the droopy stock makes it look like a toy. Honestly I think of a gun as a tool, I have a $ 2000. triple hard chromed torque wrench that is a beautiful example of modern industrial design but you wont see me wall mounting it .
There is a time and place for things and in Canada any gun, toy or not unfortunately should not be on display at all. After all why would someone want to mount a cheap toy ? to impress/ intimidate ? the vast majority of people don't want to see it, no different than a expensive torque wrench other than a wrench is a socially acceptable tool whereas typically any type of gun is not. I can't help but think a 15 yr old trying to make a toy gun look ultra realistic is a bad idea. Sorry if my response is not too your liking and I come off as a dick but it's my honest thoughts. |
You might want to use a Matte black finish spray paint on the M4 there. You can pick it up at any hardware store like or Crappy Tire. Don't shop at Walmart though, they're a shitty American company. If you're gonna shop shitty, at least shop Canadian.
|
Other than the glossy looking black it's fine.
It actually looks nice, especially the pistol IMO. |
I agree, nice job with the painting... in fact, I think I'm probably gonna do that with my old cheap springers that are rotting in my basement....
|
Maybe I should paint my guitar hero axe to look like a real fender...

Paint Job
Sad to say, but unfortunately I received one of these as a joke birthday present from my bro when I expressed interest in Airsoft.
Obviously the gun sucks, however, just for kicks I ran to home hardware to see what I could do to make it look cool. They have a matte black camo paint there that's used for painting compound hunting bows and the like and it's scratch proof. I used it on my gun and it looks awesome. Everyone I show it to says it turned out very nice. The funny thing is that gun comes with laser sights, a red dot sight and a vertical grip. The gun looks like a beast but is completely useless. Like everyone says, save money and get age verified. Well worth it. |

Well since we are all discussing paint jobs, I thought I might add my own custom paintjob here for you guys to critique :)

Lol, yeah I was gonna' but I just picked up the nearest black paint and hoped to god that it wasn't super glossy. Not the best idea, but I just wanted to paint something at the time. |

Very nice. I'm going a little lower end for my first sniper. I'm getting the TSD MB03. It's an M700, also. When I get it, I think I'm going to go olive drab with a bunch of other earthy colours, then ghillie wrap it, something like the M24 off of Battlefield 2, if you've seen it. |
Don't suppose I'm the only one who noticed a 15 year old bought a VSR 10 off of 007 airsoft hey?

I don't mean to contradict your "policies" or w/e, but in the US it isn't against the law for minors to own firearms, including BB guns and the like, they just have to be purchased by an adult first. And suppose he's just here to talk and learn more? Who cares if he's not 18....he shouldn't be shunned and turned a blind eye just because OMG HE'S A MINOR AND HAS AN AIRSOFT WTF!?! Sorry...these are just my feelings on the issue, because I've been seeing quite a few rude posts lately... |
Because you never saw his posts, and what he said. It was obvious he's someone, not matter how old, that should ever have any gun of any sort in his hands.
|
Yet, you can get your hunting license to fire a real firearm, at 12 years old?
Guys, listen. It's fine, I know it's typical of some youngster to say "I won't do wrong with it", but you know, I won't. I'm not dumb about airsoft, I respect the sport, and want it to stay around for a while. |
Quote:
That's a little much, don't you think? You realize that I'm joining the Canadian Forces when I turn 19, and I'm pretty sure that there are a few guns involved in that. |
Quote:
|
Yes, I know about the training.
5 - 11 for seven months or something. But honestly. You don't believe that every person out there that's eighteen years old and goes out and simulates the military has actually been in the military, do you? |
Quote:
Maybe if you read my post you'd realize i wasn't talking about you. I was talking about "sniper(terrible)". |
Quote:
I didn't read it right. |
Quote:
Bottom line? 18 to own and play airsoft in Canada. Wait until you're 18 and don't try and beat your way around the system, you'll get little to no respect for it, although it already seems like most people around here don't respect you. If you're so mature, wait it out. |
Quote:

I don't understand you guys. One damned bit.

This is just such a bizarre atmosphere for me...here in America, we welcome the idea of minors getting into the sport, but what is with all this uptight shit with you Canadians? Aren't you supposed to be the "peaceful love everyone" people!? rofl! I think you all should lighten up....this is a GAME after all...you all talk like it's the real thing. If you don't want to play with kids, then join the REAL military and help Americans kill towel heads...
|
Quote:
|
i have read the FAQ...there is nothing indicating "Why are we Canadians uptight bastards to new comers who are interested in our site?"
So I have a question, what if someone foreign (Such as my self) comes to your site, looking for information on 2 guns for a future purchase. YOU as a canadian have no jurisdictions over that person to say "You can't know anything because I don't know how old you are." |
Quote:
In your case your age doesn't matter. |
I honestly can't take anything gundam says seriously with that signature..
If you ACTUALLY read up on the situtation with airsoft in Canada, you'd see why people suggest 14 year olds don't get much help. They CANT play at any feilds, the minimum at very few fields is 16+, and mostly all of the other fields are 18+. |
Airsoft Canada is full of online bullies who like nothing more than to flame the hell out of people. To the international players and readers these jerks do not represent the player base in Canada, in person airsofters are quite friendly, open and willing to talk to newbs and even underaged players.
What happens when they get behind a computer, I don't know... I'm only an asshole on the field, not online. |
Quote:
It was my mom's choice to go into my room and clean up...I didn't go "hey mommy my room is messy please clean up after me :(!" If you are going to use that as ammo, you are weak minded my friend... |
It's funny but if you cruise US or international sites or listen to the US podcasts hordes of minors with cheap clone guns are not encouraged, in fact it appears they bring bile to the back of most older player's throats.
Sounds like their in the flesh personality is just repulsive as their online persona. Not like the folks here who are assholes online & pussys in person. Or vise-versa. |
Lol and you're a big bad 43 year old who likes to go out and play guns with his friends....but away from the playing, you spend your time picking on kids who are trying to play a game...the very game you play at 43 years of age...I'm sorry but you seem to be far more immature and intolerant than these new comers are...This is not YOUR game, anyone and everyone is allowed to play it, so you have no right to deny the pursuits of others.

how hard is the idea of "dont like how we do things go the fuck elsewhere"?
|
Sorry, but in the US, I have the right to bear arms :D I can lay any gun where ever the hell I please :) It's not my fault you don't enjoy the same rights I do...so once again, your argument means nothing. According to your colleagues, airsoft guns are not firearm replicas, so why should the be locked up am I right? I mean if it's just a toy.....c'mon get serious old-timer.

Also you might be confusing us with France. They have 30% more sex than us Canadians do and Canadians have 20% more sex than Americans do (see the Canada vs. USA article in the most recent Maclean's magazine, it's a pretty convincing article). That confusion could be due do our strong French culture though. See Quebec for example. Quote:
...Actually, I'm not even going to bother with this... All that being said some people on this board are just sour from time to time. Every board has its nasty nancys, but this board's nasty nancys get more and more nasty as they suffer through skirmish withdrawl. Some of them need almost 7 skirmishes a week to reduce the occurance of their rapid mood swings. |
again... i look at gundams signature, fail.
|
What is wrong with hunting with an automatic...Just because you can;t do it in Canada makes it wrong? We hunt bad guys with automatics so why not next week's supper? Just because we have the RIGHT and you have the privilege doesn't mean you have to be all wicked and nasty when a question is asked....how about organizing an interest group, raising funds, and getting someone elected to your cause? Your country is terribly liberal, and that's it's downfall, but hey, I don't want to get political, so I'll quit here.

I think you should go outside and grab a pine branch and litely paint over the branch above the solid green parts to make it kind of fade out, not just goung green, and then straight to black.
That a good Idea?? |
Gundam, you can't honestly know what airsoft is like in our country. Airsoft guns are next to impossible to get out here, I'm not going to go into all the little details, as I'm sure that it would only be disregarded. But the simple reason that we have age verification in Canada is so that us responsible adults can be trusted with items that can easily be mistaken as real firearms, which is why we are far more cautious with them. If some kid were to run through the streets with a rifle, cops would be around with weapons drawn in no time. All it would take is one serious incident to ruin it for us out here.
I don't expect you to be understanding about the subject as you have already proven yourself to be a tough guy, but we don't take this sport for granted, and that is why we do our best to protect it. |

Hunting bad guys and hunting wildlife are not something to be compared. Bad guys fight back, probably with their very own automatic assault rifles. Game just runs away (unless you cross a mad bull, then you might be the one running). One well placed shot is much more effective than 30 to the centre of mass (ie, the meaty part). Quote:

This thread was started by someone asking opinions on a paint-job, of which has now turned into an ugly debate.
Gundam, if you just trying to get a rise out of us, then please take your inconsiderate words else where. I personally don't care who is on ASC, but when they try to use it as a hateful chat-room, you waste everyones time. If your wanting to be apart of this 'discussion' forum then BE a part of it rather then spamming it with nonsense. Thats enough fighting for one day kids, go eat some oreo's and go to bed. |

As for the paint, I'm always a fan of a good two tone. I'm considering doing up my MP5 SD2 in an OD/Black two tone. Not sure which furniture will get the OD though. It's going to be tough to work out I think. The only thing that I don't like about your paint is the shiney-ness. I'd definately hit it with some matte black instead. |
AHAHAHAHA! What wit? Opponent? If you wanted to "verbally" fight someone go yell at your mom for breaking your gun.

Track down Gundam on his cheese farm in Wisconsin, bring him to somewhere like San Francisco where gay-marriages are legal and make a honest man out of him. Then you will have a US citizenship and will have met the legal requirements to join the USMC. Though while at Perris Island or wherever you might be deployed after you might want to keep your man-love on the down low. |
