Styrak July 15th, 2008 19:55

That's a looooooooooooooooong gun.

dpvu July 15th, 2008 19:56

What a beautiful rifle. $800 not bad for such a rifle + upgrades.

Drache July 15th, 2008 19:57

Very long!

Plans include a tightbore, harris bipod, vn mag, and a scope

Shirley July 15th, 2008 20:06

So how many inches in the front end excluding the suppressor?

Drache July 15th, 2008 20:09

Considering that on redwolfairsoft.com it sells for $399 USD and say a VFC 416D 145RS sells for $405 USD Id say its worth the price I paid considering the SAM-R has a mosfet installed and shipping included.... :D

G&P USMC SAM-R

ZackS July 15th, 2008 20:49

Nice gun drache, 800 is not a bad price at all.

Drache July 15th, 2008 20:54

I really didnt have the money to drop on this but I fell in love with it! Not to mention I haven't seen a G&P USMC SAM-R for sale yet not to mention with a mosfet installed.

jonney. July 15th, 2008 22:04

Got one just like it!
But mine was not as good of a deal I paided just under a thousand when I purchased it about a year ago from A&A airsoft.

Lakonian July 15th, 2008 22:22

Very nice! Those halo silencers are incredible. They make your rifle inaudible.. lol... very cool.

Thats what the seller said! I can wait to try it out!

desiredtoe July 15th, 2008 22:30

That is a very nice looking AEG. Hope you enjoy it!

Drache July 15th, 2008 22:32

I am just waiting for payment to clear for an Eotech 552 to throw on top of it!

Crunchmeister July 15th, 2008 22:33

Man, that gun is really long with that suppressor. I like it. I wouldn't necessarily want to use a gun that long, but it sure looks good.

yeah running through the brush might require the silencer to be removed... screw it turn it into a sniper roll then I dont have to worry about running through the brush lol

Crunchmeister July 15th, 2008 22:39

From the pic it looks like it's one of those quick-attach silencers that attach over the flash hider, right? If so, then it's a snap to get that on and off.

Yeah it appears to be a QD Halo type silencer....

I've also just been told by the previous owner that the gun has a madbul 6.04 ver.2 tightbore installed already!

LOL... QD my ass. It takes me 15 seconds to install... and I'm quasi-quick.

They're very nice regardless of their speed. I've dropped mine multiple times, and it received little more than a scuff... muahah.

I think a VLTOR VIS would look amazing on that rifle, IMHO.

Yeah my last QD silencer was a BITCH to remove lol....

Drache July 15th, 2008 23:15

ok for the people who have emailed me, PM'd me on multiple forums, and even to the person who called me at home....

THIS IS NOT FOR SALE!

:D

Capt. Tyco July 15th, 2008 23:22

My M16 is fitted with the G&P SAM-R front end. Its an extremely solid piece of kit. I think you will be very happy with the quality of this gun.

All I ever wanted was a full metal SOLID AEG, 3rd burst, tightbore, etc is just icing on the cake!

Yeah, really. 3rnd burst is alot of fun from what I've seen... ;P

Capt. Tyco July 16th, 2008 00:25

Its also great for the person on the retrieving end. It has saved me from being sprayed with an entire mag from a ptw on a few occasions.

Drache July 16th, 2008 00:28

It's also supposed to be allot more accurate than full auto and two extra BB's compared to single help lol

Drache July 16th, 2008 16:19

The gun is already at the bus depot and I wont be in that city until tomorrow afternoon! The waiting is killing me!

If I could Id leave a day early just so I could pick it up a day early! I should also have an Eotech 552 waiting as well at the bus depot when I pick up my gun!

Tex July 16th, 2008 16:56

did you ever get your shipping issues fixed or is picking stuff up in Quesnel your only option now?

The reason my "town" never existed was because the seller had the postal code wrong lol. Ive been getting stuff all the time. The only reason I got it bused to Quesnel was because I am going to be in Quesnel until Monday! If I would have had it mailed here to Likely it wouldnt arrive until Monday or Tuesday.

Drache July 17th, 2008 19:29

Ok got the SAM-R in the trunk as I type this in a McDonalds parking lot (not eating here just using their free highspeed wireless connection). I havent had a chance to test it yet since I wont be out at my fathers ranch until late tonight (good thing I remember to bring ammo).

G&P USMC SAM-R
5 midcaps (4 in box)
Reflex Red Dot
Front grip
QD Halo Silencer
Tightbore
Mosfet

God I want to shoot this thing!

Here are a few pics that I quickly took in the hotel room:

Shirley July 19th, 2008 14:47

OMG! Nice silencer! Congratz!

rexdlu July 19th, 2008 15:02

OMG that is gorgeous....Drache I'm so jealous. I love the way supressors look on M16's and M4's

Drache July 19th, 2008 15:12

Sad part is first time I fired it, three f'ing BB's shattered INSIDE the hopup/tightbore and I havent had a chance to fire it again since that moment. Hope everything is fine internally.....

Desmodus July 19th, 2008 15:18

Kudos Drache, shes quite the beauty :)

oblivious July 19th, 2008 17:04

Pretty good looking. Grats

Drache July 20th, 2008 00:04

Ok the official tally is:

7 PM's over multiple forums
3 emails
2 calls to my parents place
1 call to my place

All asking if this gun is for sale....

IT IS NOT!

caraboose July 20th, 2008 00:08

That looks really nice, congrats.

Drache July 20th, 2008 12:46

I noticed that the top receiver doesnt have the tabs that say a TM receiver does and yet this this is rock steady!

mcguyver July 20th, 2008 12:53

The mechbox itself is what holds the upper receiver so solid on G&P guns. The front pin keeps it from sliding off, and really is the only thing that holds the upper on the gun.

In a few post-2005 G&P guns that I've owned or worked on, that front receiver pin was very loose, and needed to be physically altered (with a hammed and chisel) to deform and enlarge it to fit the holes in the receivers. This was the only gripe I could find with the guns really.

But mechboxes where users would use semi-auto, the switch stop block would break in the same fashion that Systema complete mechboxes would.

Drache July 20th, 2008 13:01

Yeah the front pin is kinda loose so I think Im going to find a place that sells the locking ones.

Yeah when I disassembled the gun for the first time Im so used to the upper receiver being able to pivot forward like a real C7. On G&P's though you have to slide the upper receiver forward after removing the front pin.
