JG Echo 1 M4A1

I'm some what new to the airsoft world, I am an avid paintballer, but the damn sport is getting way to expensive, so I thought, hey maybe airsoft since the ammo is so damn cheap would be better! Well, that's what has led me to this site and the interests of the JG Echo 1 M4A1, since I've been playing paintball for a while, and spending 150$ a night on ammo (yay for fucking 75$/case of 2000 and being trigger happy) I've become broke, but still like running around with guns and stuff. I have my self a cheap ass little Crossman R34 stinger, and a Crossman gas pistol, and I must say, getting hit by the BB is certainly less "painfull" than getting hit by a paintball. I'm now 16 and poorer than a fucking hobo (sort of) I got 70$, and I should have 200$ in two weeks time (yay for being geek) I'm not looking for anything amazing here, no Tokyo Marui stuff, even though they make great guns. I really like the design of the P90, but I've looked arround its some cheapo little 30$ thing from China that is crap, or go balls out and buy a 400$ Tokyo Marui, so I ruled that out. That brought me to my 2nd favorite gun, the XM8 I only found cheap springer guns, and I'm looking for something that can go fully automatic, so I did some research, found out that Jing Jong made a version of the M4 (the Echo 1 M4A1) and seeing as how the M4 and its siblings are among my favorite of guns (#3) I'm looking into the JG Echo 1 M4A1, I can not find any place that sells JG guns in Canada, or in the U.S.A for that matter, so it was www.wgcshop.com well, they're in China, nothing against the Chinese but I think getting a 1:1 replica fire arm across the border would be damn hard. So I come to you asking, is the JG M4A1 any good? Where in Canada sells the JG M4A1? What comes in the box with the JG M4A1 (basic model, nothing fancy at this point), and how expensive would the gun be?

Cobrajr122 July 19th, 2008 22:33

I can warn you right now, despite how much research you did on your own, some people might feel the need to flame you because of your age.

I cannot comment on the M4, however I can give you the advice that waiting until you are 18 is your BEST option right now. Once you are 18 you can get age verified and gain access to the classifieds section of the forums where there are great deals on weapons of ALL types.

I also suggest you take a few hours at some point and read the FAQs thoroughly.

Disregarding my age, my dad has given me permission to give him the how ever much $$ it is, and he'll buy it for me. I do how ever have my firearms license, I am in biathlon and you need one to be able to carry the gun with you, I am very responsible when it comes to guns. If I got my dad to make an account on here with his age, could I then be able to look in the b/s/t?

you are VERY correct.

A large amount of people on the forums don't like the idea of people under 18 having airsoft rifles.

If you dad was to meet up with a rep and get age verified i don't see why he would not be able to buy any rifles for you but you might not be allowed to pay in organized ASC games. this depend on the field where you play, some allow 16 year old to play with parents permission, most don't.

You need your PAL for the biathlon rifles?....crap.. I wonder how long I have been breaking that law O_o

*sigh*I'm probably going to regret this but I'm going to give it one more chance I'm bored shit less. And yes, you need your PAL before you can carry a biathlon rifle legally (says the firearms coarse instructor man) Please disregard my age, I'm probably the most firearm responsible 16 year old you'll ever meet (no exaggeration) and I mean seriously I have 3 of my own airsoft guns, mind you they all suck ass, and I've had one of them for 2 years, since I was 14, handled it safley and respected the fact that, well if you mistreat the gun, it has the potential to harm somebody. So saying that, please disregard my age, and help me find which one is best for me, if you wish, I'll get you a pic of all my guns that I have (they're black, and look real.)

its not a matter of how safe you are but thats very good that you understand firearm safety

the absolute best thing to do right now is get to know players in your local community and if they will allow it look into spectating a game and if you cant spectate a game see if you can at least meet with some of the local players

just finish out those two years man and the buy and sell section will open its doors to you

cheers

...this new nice guy bowers scares me O.o

However many times we have to say it, we will... its 18+ to get an airsoft gun, and we don't care how you mature you are or not... I'm 16 as well, and I'm waiting patiently for another 2 years to get age-verified here... you're not going to find anywhere else in Canada which sells airsoft guns... and there's no way you can get age-verified, since you are also 16... sowait the 2 years, save up your money, and buy from the classifieds here... it'll be worth it

*^argh.. you beat me to it Bower... :p

caraboose July 19th, 2008 23:16

I already know players in my community, my buddy he's 15, he has his own gun Tokyo Marui M4, his brother I somewhat know him has like 50000000 guns, and those are the only people that I know in my city that play paintball, I saw some guy on here who's also from Calgary, maybe he'd let me come check it out or what ever, I don't know. 2 years, it's very long....

Then you have not met me before....

We cannot simply disregard your age now that we know it, but what we can do is answer questions for you as long as you do your own research first. this includes using the forums search button before posting any questions you might have.

As it has been stated before, the majority of ASC do not like helping under aged people get their hands on rifles, despite how responsible they may say they are, words on a forum mean nothing compared to knowing a person for a period of time.

Basically. Wait until you are 18 before trying to obtain another airsoft rifle. Use your money to buy ammunition for more target practice for biathlon if you want that real weapon feel. Either that or stick with what you got.

I some how don't think that I'd be allowed to run around an airsoft field with a 22...

You're right, I've never met you.

I'll just wait, but if I get my dad on here, he's an old fart, would that then let him buy the gun, let him have it in his possession, and let me borrow it when ever I want to use it even though I payed for it with my own money, it would be in his possession until I'm 18, then the gun, if it lasts long enough would be mine? Would that be legit, and allowed?

Cobrajr122 July 19th, 2008 23:23

I not going to say yes or no, but it Is a work around. Doing this however is not suggested at all though, ASC has/is a hate machine, do not piss it off. Any wrong doers get what they deserve.

its mostly a flame fest

the main consequence is being flamed and owned for the most part so if you subscribe to your threads you can also expect your inbox to get loaded with emails lol but if that dont bug you then my powers and skills are useless

the only thing that could affect you IRL is if the local communtiy banned you from all games (it has happened before) though i dont think they would over owning a gun before your 18 mind you that is up to your local community

if you want take a trip up to that menu at the top of the screen scroll over community then go to which ever region you live in then join that forum as well things roll much smoother on the local boards ive noticed

...my god somethings happening to me lol

Click on them and find out.

Bowers is right, joining your local forum would be much better for your development as a player, and the development of your reputation before you even start.

I waited 4 years before i could game. Because i waited the 4 years and didn't give anybody a big hassle over it, I was able to build my reputation on the forums before even meeting the people i now play with, and believe me that is an EXCELLENT thing to do.

Along with that i was able to get a sweeeet deal on my first rifle.

With that, I'll be totally cool on the JOC forum, some body tell me, getting hit by a BB @ 430fps, would ti be comparable to getting hit by a paintball @ 320fps?

Cobrajr122 July 19th, 2008 23:53

i would not be able to compare because I have not played Paintball for over a year. but being hit by a BB going at 490... It HURT, but not for long at all, left no mark. it was more of a.... "holy shit THAT hurt... HIT!"

caraboose July 19th, 2008 23:56

i found it more of just a quick shock rather then any real pain though the guns i faced were weaker then 490 if i recall (nates famas and ak?)

by the time you turn 18, you will have enough money to get something better then a JG (flame on)

I don't think his FAMAS is over 400, but the Ak might be you would have to ask him. There is no way they are close to 490 though.

GreyFox132 July 20th, 2008 09:57

Gonna have to do the work and see if you can get out to some games in your area, get to know the people, and maybe just maybe they will accept you as one of their own.

Newtothegame July 22nd, 2008 10:13

After reading that whole thing what is troubling me is the fact that "caraboose" continuously tries to remind us about how he is so good with guns and very responsible. HOwever when given the appropriate advice (wait until your 18) he seems to get very frustrated and possibly angry. This leads me to believe that he is not as mature and responsible as he says he is. When you have a gun in your hand, especialy one that looks real, there isn't any "I didn't mean to's"

On another hand JG does make nice rifles, I have an S-system and a g36c and there are plenty of upgrades and room for add-ons. However the springs aren't the greatest.

CupidStunt July 22nd, 2008 10:56

Crunchmeister July 22nd, 2008 19:04

There's plenty of room here for minors that abide by the rules. The rules of ASC are that you have to be 18 to buy a gun through ASC channels. If you can accquire a gun some other way, then all the power to you. As long as you use it responsibly, then that's good. You just won't get any assistance from us in getting one.

As for you CupidStunt, I don't recall you ever going against the rules or asking for help to get a gun, etc and expecting people to break the rules for you. That's what gets underage noobs flamed around here. They come in right away asking where to get a gun, refuse to read the FAQs and info section, then piss and moan when they're told to abide by the rules.

+1 to that. I too have no problem with underage airsofters. But when they jerk you around, throwing a temper tantrum because they can't access the B&S, I wouldn't expect them to be mature or responsible enough to use a replica firearm.

TCLP July 23rd, 2008 02:24

Also If your area allows 16yr olds to play go to a game you wil see lots of different guns. Most guys will let you hold them and maybe even fire a few rds. And if your really lucky you might be able to rent a gun and play. Best way to get involved and make a good name.

JOC allows 16 year olds to play with parental consent.
However do not misconstrue that as letting your father purchase a rifle by underhanded and immature reasons and still expecting to play with JOC.
You will understand what it is to be banned. If that's the route you so choose.

The difference between paintball and airsoft is that paintball is a lot more legal to play in Canada than airsoft. Airsoft is a lot more realistic than paintball in terms of how the guns look and if people see kids running around with a real looking gun and they get shot and then the police figure out its just an airsoft gun than airsoft in Canada could be ruined and that's exactly what people don't want and that's why you get flamed because you don't read the FAQ's that tell you everything you need to know without being yelled at also...

Crunchmeister August 8th, 2008 20:11

I'll lay it out to you plainly here. NO ONE on this forum will help you accquire a gun. First, it's against the rules, and if there's one thing members here do is abide by the community rules. You can be as responsible as an adult, but the fact is, the rules are the rules. Abiding by them is probably the best way you can demonstrate responsibility to us.

Secondly, discussing where to get guns, including ASKING ABOUT WHERE TO GET THEM outside of the 18+ areas can get you an infraction and for repeatedly doing so, get you banned.

Look at it this way. I've known kids that grew up on farms and were driving farm equipment since they were 12. They were responsible drivers. However, if they had taken dad's truck out on the road and got pulled over, the "I'm not 16 yet, but I'm a good, responsible driver. I've been driving farm equipment for years" wouldn't cut it. Same thing with airsoft.
