AGM M14 Dissassemble?
OK ,I just aquired this M14 from Gunk, there ins't manual
for it,I was trying to figure out how to open it up and check over the mechbox and connections. All I have figured out so far is the trigger guard and front sight. I found a lot of threads on how good it is or crappy it is,read some reviews but no strip down manual. Please help,I want to try it out at flagraiders this weekend. |
www.mechbox.come have an M14 disassembly / reassembly guide.
|
Is that just the mechbox?,I haven't figured out how to get to it
inside the gun. |
You didn't figure out how to get the trigger guard off!
That was my fuck up! :p (and at least you don't hafta worry about the rear sight ;)) And still looking for that other mag... I'm thinking my cat has a stash of my shit somewhere inside a wall or couch or something... |
That was the vid I was looking for CM,Gunk,I did figure out
the trigger guard and the front site removal, but that is all. I think the mag is not working right though, feeds sometimes, then 3 or 4 rounds or non.I held it upside down and it fired perfect. Thanks CM |
Is it a ver.7 in the M14?.I'm trying to find a guide on the mechbox.
Mechbox.com didn't have it.I am trying to get the semi fire action working.I have auto only at the moment.Would it be a mag issue if I get no rounds then 4 rounds then 1 ,then 3 non then 2 or 3?. Works all the time if I hold it upside down. |
probably a mag issue.
try taking a handfull of bb, oil with some silicon oil in a plastic bag, then fill the mag with them. empty in the bag and repeat process. should solve the issue. |
I'll give that a try on the mag problem. Thanks
|
Is the M14 a ver.7 Mechbox?.
|
When you have a feed issue, oiling the mag is usually the first thing you do to troubleshoot the feed problem. So far in all cases with me, it's solved the problem.
As for mechbox version, I THINK it's a V7, but I'm not sure. I have no experience with the M14. |
I'm trying to find a mechbox diagram to work on the selector switch.
Mechbox.com changed their site, and this loaner pc dosen't let me use their search button. The darn thing is stuck on auto fire. The switch moves the parts but nothing changes in terms of select fire. |
Nice find:D .All I found was sites selling guns or I couldn't display the site.
Thanks. |
Well I tried the oily bb idea, well I got about ten or twenty rounds
out before the gun stopped working, the motor turns, the gear the motor is attached to turns both ways as the anti reversing latch is off the spring. here is the picture of the latch,I think I am over my comfort level at the moment for working on this mechbox. Man thats alot of peanut butter in there might wanna clean it out when ya get it apart just my opinion
|
Are there any guns doctors near guelph?,I need my AGM mechbox
rebuilt.I might as well up grade now since it doesn't work. |
|
Well,I braved this box apart.Looks like that when the anti reversing latch
was not attached, and that when the gears reverse and the trigger is pulled, not a pretty picture.Only the gear that pulls the piston back was stripped. Are all gears a standard size?,I can just order three gears and the fit?. Second question is.is there some kind of disconnect for semi,I think a part is missing,no nothing flew out while I took it apart. |
I can close this thread with good news.My parts arrived today,so
I was able to reassemble my mechhbox with only one small hiccup. I ordered a TM replacement gear set figuring they would drop right in and fit.Nope, the spur gear was 3/16th of an inch off on both side and wouldn't reach the bevel or half gear.My only choice was to reuse the old spur gear which I can find no damage or wear on. I timed the gears, grease everything in sight attached the motor and tadda!,it work great.I reassembled the entire gun and tested it in all modes,it worked again, now I loaded a mag and have only tested in semi and auto and it fired perfect. All those multi feed rounds problems are gone.Man am I sooooo happy.:D |
Spoke too soon!
Well,I was testing my agm prior to disassembly,I fired some rounds at a target
and it was firing in auto in the semi position, these are brand new parts, what gives?.I have only fired five hi caps through this gun,and I did not abuse it. These are new TM parts with lots of grease, anyone have a idea why this may be?.Looks like I am back at the beginning again where I started with this gun.:( |
Has no one had a problem when replacing a semi auto disconnect,
that after a few hi caps it doesn't work. These are TM replacement parts,so I thought I would be good for a whole at least. There is plenty of grease in the works to lube everything,so that is not the problem that I can see.Anyone have any ideas?.:( |
Geez, I didn't even see this thread until now. I've dealt with version 7 clone before, they can be a handful. I'd have to see it to really know what's wrong.
|
I'll be taking it apart today and see what is going on,if I can't figure it
out,I let you know. But if can tell me of the other problems you had,I can look for those while I have it apart. Thanks:cool: |
