G&G SCAR

I am very interested in SCARs and this seems like a decent option. I have looked on the web but since its a fairly new gun there are no reviews for the G&G version. How is it compared to say a CA SCAR?

Thanks for any comments.

Cheers,
Lou

Im interested in this gun too - I heard good things about the CA but I heard it doesnt have correct markings? Or its got prominent CA markings.

Try google search as well there a couple reviews of this one kicking around the net I've seen a couple myself because I was also interested in the G&G.

The Lonely SCAR October 8th, 2008 17:39

I also heard that about the markings I would be buying mine from mopic airsoft they have both the G&G and the CA.

mopic October 8th, 2008 17:41

Both are really good, the G&G's are made from magnesium alloy-very strong. Purely a preference thing. Keep in mind the Scar-l uses m4 mags, the Scar -H uses sr25 mags, good to know if you have a pile of M4 mags already.

No I have yet to buy a M4 or a M4 mag, can it use M16 mags to?

I do have a G&G Scar-L

All thing are good about this AEG.

Weight is well ballenced. The body is very well made no peices are mooving around and making noise.

This monster was shooting a 400 fps out of the box.

The inner barrel is good but i did feel like i needed to changed it to Ã* Madbull tight bore (custom cut)

You will have to run this AEG on a 9.6 V batterie of curse it will make the job on a 8.4 but that is no match for that big spring.

The hopup is a clear plastique one peice unit. That it's actually bolted on the body so the hop is not mooving and it's really does the job to hold the barrel. It's a standard m4 type hop but it's staying tune and i dont have to play with it often.

The bucking and the sleeve are the new type from G&G , they are green and suppose to stay soft as low as -40.

You will have a 24k Gold-Plated power connection and silver plated electric wire.

the charging handell can be catch reward.

Second edition gear reinforce up to 30% (so gear are stronger)

one peice outer barrel.

The gear box is well built and the selector switch is different form a standard V2 mech. The gears are monted on 7mm bering bushings.

This AEG is really a beast really good in a outdoor environement and easy to go in tight spaces with the folding stock.

This is my primary weapon and i was never let me down.

I hope this help you decide witch brand to buy.

One note is that the upper reciver is scratching easyly but this is only happening at the sling attachement point.

Thanks for the review phil I am going to buy this gun, I will also be purchasing either the WE luger or the WE 1911 5.1 Hi cappa from Mopic.

Muffin October 8th, 2008 20:32

Before you ask, cause I have a feeling your going to, please do research on the WE GBB before you buy.

The Lonely SCAR October 8th, 2008 20:51

No I am just looking at looks purely.

Disco_Dante October 8th, 2008 21:10

Why?

jesster202 October 8th, 2008 21:55

they break you know!!

Ktown Militia October 8th, 2008 22:01

i got one, and its great. my first GBB and its been great to me. Ive heard of some of the leaf springs be crappy, but thats an easy fix. I simply tweaked them with a pair of needle nose pliers and its better than the factory built.

jesster202 October 8th, 2008 22:08

i have 2 friends who got the 4.3 and the 5.1 and their bushings broke one of their slides cracked (they only use propane) and the cyclender head is broken i havent heard anything negtive about the 3.8 though i have only heard good things!

Phil_Black October 8th, 2008 22:36

I have a WE 1911 capian and it's total shit !

Bushing broke so i repalced it with a Rs one and the slide Blew in 5 shots !

My advise stay away from WE, it's not a GBB for a new player. Go for A KSC or A TM.

Skladfin October 8th, 2008 22:38

bushings? where's that in a pistol?

just got a WE Hicapa 5.1 =\

The Lonely SCAR October 9th, 2008 07:20

What about the luger? I love lugers so much!

i hop i'm just not bitting on some sarcasm. but...

it's the peice that connect the front of barrel to the slide and ensure a smooth sliding movement.

Mine is also damaged but I still can fire with the GBB...

I ordered the OEM bushing and the one from Guarder (I'll try to make it fit) but the OEM bushing is backordered... I usually don't order from Evike but it's the only place where I can get the OEM bushing.

mopic October 10th, 2008 10:36

For field play I would not choose a luger, mags are really expensive. Most buyers of lugers have tended to be collectors. Have a look at the P226, 1911, or glocks. that is the most common choice for most players. The KJW's have been great performers, so have the we 1911's I have sold tons, with very few issues. The new Wilson Combat is cool looking, identical to a CQB elite.
