ehobby Asia : store vs eBay (prices)

I just bought of bunch of stuff on ehobby and did a comparison of buying the same items in their store or on eBay.

Result :

Prices in the store are much lower (9.99 vs 15$ for example) but shipping is much higher (64$ vs 25$, many items ship for free on eBay, hence the higher base prices).

Overall a 124$ order on eBay would have costed me 145$ on their store.

Just thought I would let people know that it was worth trying out both possibilities.

One thing that stop me order from ehobby is their multiple shipping cost on ebay. Why they don't just do simple for my small item, they should have just put in my big package and don't charge the shipping, it won't hurt by just doing like that. Last time, I order a big item and can put small small item in there together in one package and charge me in one rate shipping but instead of doing that, they charge me the small item shipping rate as well. That's piss me off.

On the eBay site there is free shipping, on most things I have looked at anyways. Mostly small parts.

KND : now eBay auctions from ehobbyasia feature quite a lot of free shipping.

For example, I just bought a swat vest (25$ shipping). I also bought an ammo dump pouch, a helmet, a gun bag and a waist bag, all free shipping.

Worth looking at their new shipping fees I think.

Wow, really? Last month, I thought they just forgot to include the shipping part, so I would give them an extra 3$ for shipping. :p
Bleh.

LOL, when it says "FREE SHIPPING"?

Yeah I figured out right when the store came out, their Ebay store is still cheaper.

7-10 business days from shipping every time from me, and I've made tons of orders. Not one lately though.

MOARPOWER February 26th, 2009 00:13

hm....the problem is that there are much more things on their original site.....
so buy from ebay store when possible unless I really need something from their regular site?

Edit: Found out. ehobby shipping kills. except for ordering a G36K RIS rail. Still 90 dollars cheaper than airsoft parts.

I stopped ordering from Ehobby due to their poor packaging. They claim to have top notch high quality packing and I for one can say OH NO THEY DON'T! First order arrived in a box... opened the box to find 2 of the 3 items broken because they packed them in the box too tightly. All could have been avoided by using a little larger box on their part. The second items I ordered arrived in a UPS express bag completely covered in packing tape from head to toe. Once again the items arrived missing pieces and damaged as well. The damage could have been avoided by simply putting the items into a box and the missing pieces well that is another matter. To this day ehobby asia has not acknowledged any of my emails in regards to replacing the damaged items. I have filed complaints with both ebay and paypal in regards to the items but still no resolutions. I highly recommend staying away from this business for purchases... cheaper isn't cheap if it arrives damaged and broken with no replacement.

That's strange, I've always got stuff well packaged from them.

Griffon February 26th, 2009 08:43

So they look like comparable prices:

EBAY Link
Marui Airsoft Barrel NEW FULL AUTO TRACER Luminous FS11 - $84.99 free shipping

ehobbyasia.com Link
Tokyo Marui New Full Auto Tracer $79.99 + plus shipping.

EBAY Link
ELECTRO Holographic MULTI Reticle AEG Red Dot Sight FS6 - $29.99 - free shipping

ehobbyasia.com Link
EA Gear Multi Reticle Reflex Red Dot Sight - $24.99 + shipping

So, I guess it comes down to where you live. It's about $8.00 USD to my area.

I ordered 2 WE luger mags of the Ehobby website, total came to $65.00, if I had got them fromt eh ebay store it would have been $72.00.

I was never too pleased with the service on the eBay site. They pay more attention to their own site. I rather pay more for better service but again thats just IMO. I bought a vest from the eBay site and it came moldy and rusty. No communication from them whatsoever. However, when i inquired about things on their website, i got a fast response. I don't know, I have pretty high expectation for customer service so it could just be me.
