Lets see your kit!
I havn't seen a thread in the WW2 section on kits yet, so let's see what everyone's got put together from starting yesterday to starting 5, 6, or 7 years ago. Help some people figgure out what they might need from either Axis or Allied, all branches.
Lets get a good photo thread going here! I'll have mine up in a day or two! |
BASEMENT COMMANDO HOOOOOO !

Will post soon.
|
Well,
I'll start out with one I took a little while ago... wanted to see if my new rifle, after being converted, fitted the 'look'. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...ey/combats.jpg So, Taken from my profile on OAWWIIR... My dress uniform, and my lady. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...DSC_2208-1.jpg My rifle. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...gey/garand.jpg An event pic, pre-rifle conversion... http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14.../ww2/paraq.jpg My tent (though I believe it is early korean war era) http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...y/IMG_3334.jpg |
Also finished my medic helmet...
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...gey/medic3.jpg And some personal effects I keep on my person... http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...y/newstuff.jpg And some rations from my pack... http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...ey/bagcont.jpg |
your guys' kits look balls deep. good job. evo is your belt upside down? or is that so when your chuteing your way down you can look and see what country your not chuteing into.
|
Dont the Us army use stancils for the medic cross?
|
Yes, however... I doubt the stencils would have been readily available at forward medical stations... this helmet is a representation of a used, or worn in medic helmet.
|
Haha yes, my belt is upside down. I fixed it awhile ago just an old pic.
I went to attach my .45 Mag pouch and realized it was wrong when it had nothing to clip to. |

Dogfood on the left, Yorkie on the right, standing in front of something a bit more authentic ;) |
ok im putting a WW2 cnadian / british impression and fo rthe life of me i cant find boots for that matter what kind of boots we wore back then any help would be greatly appreciated
|

www.whatpriceglory.com - great source for repro british/commonwealth gear |
I've seen upside down pistol belts in some pictures while researching FSSF. The M1918 double magazine pocket (or other mag pockets) snaps onto the belt. By flipping the belt over, they could carry their 1911 mags on either their left or their right.

Boots with toecaps (British Army) Both $85 US which is very reasonable, they are both good quality and are very comfortable after being broken in. Before that they make mincemeat out of your feet. He also sells replcement hobnails, heel & toe irons. You can also search eBay for "Ammo Boots" there are quite a few of them on there, particularly in the UK, they are still made over there to the same pattern for work boots. You might struggle finding your size though, they are normally in the 9-11 UK range and the postage can be painful. Best of luck, Yorkie. |
Anderson and Anderson have ankle boots in lots of sizes and cheap too. They resemble WW 2 ammo boots pretty closely
|
Wow that's very impressive guys. And I'm lovin' that Spit :)
|
Quote:
Bandaid, did you mean these boots? I know I'm being picky here, but apart from having the wrong leather upper, the wrong sole and none of the hardware, yes they're virtually identical! LOL If you're going to the expense of putting a good impression together you might as well pay a bit extra and get a good quality repro, IMHO anyway. Well, that and having to deal with Anderson and Anderson. Cheers, Yorkie. |
Great Pics all, Ill Take some recent ones here shortly, but im waiting for my original Kar98 to show for pics. Doc
|
Here is one I've always liked and I'll post a few more.

Somewhat based off of a FSSF/mountain combat group. I have an M1 Helmet, it's just way too big of a target to be playing with at the moment. And I know the clothes are big, I'll be getting an M41/43 jacket soon. |

My Panzeraufklärungs (armored-recon) impression.

Waffen SS impression
Not 100% accurate for Hitler Jugend but then i'm an airsofter and not a proper reenactor..
YouTube- WWII German Loadout. Part 1 YouTube- WWII German Loadout. Part 2 |
I've only recently started my kit.
So far I've got an M40 helmet and an MP40 on the way. Once my kit's done, or at least close to done;I'll be saving up for a Tanaka K98. |
I am glad to see some people are wanting to do this proper... going for the k98!
Though after about an hour of getting my but handed to me, i even it out by bringing in the g36 =P I am sorry... k98 < LMG... it just doesn't muster up. |
I'd say my impression is close enough to be called complete.

kool
Flip your shoulder boards around, their backwards. |
|
I don't want to wear my purdy jump boots at the paintball field so I'm wearing 5.11's. Also forgot my M1A1 mag bag
http://img532.imageshack.us/img532/6...9655555555.jpg Trying to kick off some lower mainland interest, dammit! |

They're out there and they will find you. |

And oh... I intend to. I'm going to a training day specifically this Saturday to give newer players a look at the goods. Start em' off early. ;) Thanks for your support! |

One problem though. Being the only WW2 guy attracted a lot of 6mm. When contact happened one guy would call out "WW2 guy on the left!" and in came the hail of bb's. |

The only difference is it hasn't rained this year during a Tuesday evening FR skirmish. I will say that I feel it did make me a better player wearing that uniform to the skirmishes. I really had to re-think my game. |

Now... I'm no longer the only ww2guy on the field! Damn good recruiting there shifty! Two new guys always welcome. |
Hey Lee, it's not recruiting yet. Just chit chat so far. Need a WW2 game at FR or Finch's field in the fall and hopefully they'll come and check things out.

This is an airsoft forum.
That is an airsoft gun. We are in Canada, you are in the US. Look in the US for a real steel Garand, probably much easier to find. |
So finaly got the most of my field gear and a pair of ATF Jackboots to round out the impression.
The uniform isnt exactly period correct as I added insignia and collar tabs etc, but it looked okay and decided what the hell. http://i536.photobucket.com/albums/f...uniform006.jpg http://i536.photobucket.com/albums/f...uniform005.jpg |
Awesome!
Now get it dirty :) Is that a P38/Luger holster I see on the floor, far right corner? |
lol, good eye!
It's a P38 holster with a P38. Definately needs to get dirty, I agree. I was thinking about rolling around the back yard in it, but the neighbors might think I've totaly lost it. |
Is that a Stielhandgranate in your boot or are you just excited to see me?
|
lmao, I'm always excited to put on the gear, so......XD
|
you all should register for operation overlord if you havent or cant if your interested go to www.ww2alberta.ca it has all the details so far
|
|
Nice, My grandfather was in the FSSF 2nd Regiment wounded during the Anzio Breakout.
|
Yeah I decided to reenact this unit as many French-Canadians were part of it.
No members of my familly were in it however, but I created my own "character". Plus, they kicked ass :D One thing I heard about them, was when they were using Johnson machine guns, they'd fire 8 rounds than throw an empty mag on rocks. The german would then show up thinking they were reloading. |
Still very much a work in progress, needs insignia, collar tabs and ranking, cuff title, etc, but I'm happy with whats come together.

Nice, getting there!
Use the tunic hooks on the rear, helps carry the belt |
Nice loadout and nice Kar98k, I only wish I could get my hands on one...
http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7169/6...0da2653b_z.jpg I am the first one on the right; I am still working on my loadout (still missing a K98 bayonet) |
Sorry but these loadouts are BAD ASS ! tempting me to get into the WWII game scene
|
And it's super fun to shoot them, they got so many metal parts on them that you can hear them get hit from really far :D

From this Fall's "Leningrad" game. Me and DA kicked some ass on the final stationary defence scenario. Good times. Also included is one from the Overlord at the beginning of last Summer. 2012's game is gonna be HUGE!

Nice set up gents!
Do I see a Bersaglieri in the background? Hmm I don't think I have posted this before, so might as well toss it in here. My (ungarische Nr.1) 25. Waffen-Grenadier Division der SS get up. These guys fought around the SS training camp at Neuhammer, Silesia in February of 1945, than were transferred to Austria in March, '45 where they fought until the armistice on May 8th. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...0Ehre/26ss.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...re/hunyadi.jpg |

Thank you though, I just can't wait to get out and field it all. Quote:
I figure if I am running, it's because shit has hit the fan, so noise is not an issue. This is one reason I do late war. Makes more sense not to have a gas mask can, far too much noise with that beast. |

Nice load out John... it really adds to the impression! |

you mean he plays German? I have seen him in more US stuff the German |

My old loadout - Waffen-Unterscharführer 23rd SS Volunteer Panzer Grenadier Division Nederland |
Already figured out where to get most of it, but I'm planning on doing a WWII Russian Enlisted man impression, going to go with PPSh-41 as the only Mosin Nagant around are garbage.
EDIT: Besides, I own two real Mosin Nagant and an SVT-40, with how little they cost me, there's no way in hell I could justify the price of an airsoft version, might as well expand my Russian "collection" |
Gato are you getting the burrito WW2 kit? :D
