what mag for kraken?

i have a kraken ak-47 and i want to get a better mag for it.and i was wondering which mag i should get.

o and p.s i dont like mag's that shake in gun.

Mitchell12 May 17th, 2009 21:00

Well anything that's TM compatible, So literally anything you find. The mag you have is called a High-Cap, Sounds like you want a Mid-Cap or a Low-Cap. Cap mean's capacity, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you can figure out the rest.

Forever_kaos May 17th, 2009 21:42

Unless he means mag wobble, that's a tad tricky to get rid of.

bentsky May 17th, 2009 21:51

yea i do mean i dont like it when the mag wobbles.anyone know if tokyo mauri ak mags wobble?

Forever_kaos May 17th, 2009 21:53

All my mags wobble in my gun, some more then others. It's just an AK thing.

Rotting May 17th, 2009 22:06

My brother has these mags for his AK-47. The only problem he had with ONE out of the FIVE he got was one of the pins was slightly loose, and I think he just kind of painted over it with a paintbrush to get it to stick, and you can't even tell. Definitely very good quality mags.

5-Pack of Full-Metal Mags from King-Arms, 70rds. Cost you roughly 100$ at your doorstep.

AngelusNex May 18th, 2009 08:26

Hell if you don't like that little bit of wobble you should see a real ak. that'l make you cry.

Mist3r.B May 18th, 2009 12:16

If the mags wobble, put 2 layesr of electric tape on each sides and it should be fine.

Crunchmeister May 18th, 2009 12:18

All mags wobble a bit in my Type 56. It's rather the norm for most AKs. As long as they feed fine, there's no problem.

lemegacool May 18th, 2009 12:33

i dont know if it can help but i have an ak47 element metal body and i get less wobble with ka plastic mags than with star ones, so maybe your best bet is ka

That's not really a good standard, My element body has more wobble with certain mags then others, No particular mag will be perfect in every receiver, especially since the plastic receivers have that little nub that goes in and metal ones don't.

bentsky May 18th, 2009 14:09

ok then forget the shaking does anyone know if the TM 600round mag is any good

Hicaps suck, you have to keep winding them while shooting, get a pack of 5 King Arms mags.

bentsky May 18th, 2009 17:36

so whats the most you can get in a ak-47 mag without havting to wind it up.

well my point was: if the ka ones wobbles less in my body it's mean that they are slighly larger than star ones therefore have less chance to wobble in any body...

No, It could mean they have a larger front while having a slightly smaller rear tab that is still having enough to fit in YOUR rifle without wobble,However on another rifle with a slightly smaller rear catch may have wobble with it, While I see what your saying it's not ALWAYS true and someone with experience with his exact receiver will be the only one who can answer precisely which brand has the least wobble.

Ktown Militia May 18th, 2009 17:51

Note: this is on my TM body and might not be the same for kraken, but should be the same.

Ive found a solution a while ago to the fix the mag wobbling.
-on the video, go to 4:10, and you will see a small part come out of the receiver. This is the piece that the mag clips into.
http://www.mechbox.com/ak47/ak47-disassembly.html
- I used some electrical tape and put some on the lower lip that the mag edge clips on, and this will fill the small gap.
dont use too much, as the mags might not fit. use your common sense as to how much to use.

As for the Hi-cap, I have one, and use it among my 8 other mids and lows. I like it for like a last stand or heavy firefight. Other than that it makes too much noise and I hate winding.

cheers

simple fix

Kookamater May 18th, 2009 17:52

I've bought packs of MAG brand AK-47 mags, in both 100 round and 140 round capacity (140 being the longer RPK style mags). I don't know about you, but I like to reload, so mid-caps (like the ones I mentioned) are perfect.

Ktown Militia May 18th, 2009 17:54

on another note, I use 3 Tm lows, and 5 KA mids 105 rd (king arm) mags, and have had no probs.

bentsky May 18th, 2009 17:56

so do you have to wind up mid cap mags???

No, only hicaps.

AngelusNex May 18th, 2009 17:58

no, if you did they'd be hicaps. you feed the bbs into the mag and a spring pushes em all out. to feed the gun

bentsky May 18th, 2009 17:59

so where can i buy mid cap mags?

Kraken/JG hybrid. ATM still uses the Kraken plastic body though I had to modify it as the Kraken plastic is shit and the front lip that catches the mag fell apart (drilled holes and put a metal pin in to replace plastic lip)

But these Mags worked flawlessly in a Double Eagle Ak I had a while back... before the gun fell apart...

Your still not getting it, The mag was bigger where YOU needed it, This does not mean it's less likely to wobble unless we know ALL of the tabs are bigger which is hard to see without side by side comparison where it would be a matter of millimeters.

Given that you also thought mid-caps wind up, you'll need a speed-loader as well to load a mid-cap magazine, as you have to force the BBs into the magazine from the same spot that they come out.

http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...&cPath=117_120

Unfortunately as of right now, all of his are sold out, but you can pre-order them if you wish. You'll only need 1 speed loader typically per game. Most people prefer the King Arms M4-style speed loader mainly because it holds more, and it looks like a mag. Personally I have the smaller King Arms one just above it. Some people say the smaller one breaks more, but I've yet to have a problem.

If you don't get a speed loader, you'll be pushing your BBs in your mags with a pencil one by one.

so they dont fit in the kraken without you fixing it up a bit?

not exactly, fits fine BUT the lip inside the kraken breaks too easily.
