Mauser K98k and Schmeisser MP-40 Help

Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me out.
I want to get a Mauser K98k and a Schmeisser MP-40
As we do live in Canada with the ridiculous laws we have for importing a airsoft gun I can't get either of these guns
does anyone have suggestions of any sort of how I could get either one of these guns?
I know that I can get the metal assembly of the K98k just not the stock, could I import the assembly into Canada safely? (stocks are super easy to come by to go and buy, even to get one from ww2)
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

you can get any gun you want after you become age verified. basically, you met with an ASC "rep" and prove that you are 18+. Once you do that, you can contact a retailer on this site (to get a new gun), or browse the classified section (to get a used gun). As for importation, the stock should be allowed, its the receiver that isn't. so i think you have your importation facts wrong. as for which Kar98k to get for airsoft, get the Tanaka Kar98k. its is THE BEST kar98k in airsoft bar none.

Get Age Verified first and then contact me about getting a kar98 and its shells.

Sounds good. want to have a look around first before i buy one. but definitely interested

i was told that i could get the metal but not the stock in regards to importing the actual gun into the country, ie from the US. and as the law states airsoft guns as replica firearms and cannot be imported without a prooper business licensence, the CBSA has all the info on that, I find it ridiculous that you can buy a real gun with a PAL and import it from out of the country where you can't import a toy essentially. In the process of getting verified.

Welcome to Canada.

then if you really wanted to, you can become a retailer here. good luck with that. either way, like i said, get a Tanaka Kar98k for airsoft.

from posts it sounds like that Tanaka K98k model "G" with the velocity adjuster sounds like a good buy, but the shell ejectors look cool, totally useless in a game though. Which model of the Tanaka do you have?

sortie39 May 21st, 2009 20:01

man~i m telling u:get AV is a normally-used crap on this forum.however,by what u sound like,i guess u r kinder experienced player, seriously WW2 guns in this country are out of hope to get even though u get AVed or cash prepared.

I'm not expecting a brand new gun, but I do want a K98k or a MP-40
regardless of it being used, and an mp-40 is more expandable in terms of being upgraded, k98k can't really be up graded but, I'm looking to find somehow to get a new one in, importing the metal parts then go for getting a stock

skalnok May 21st, 2009 20:32

sortie i have no idea what you just said but ss_man has already said that he is in the process of getting age verified.

also it is not impossible to get brand new guns, you just have to ask certain retailers really politely.

ss_man May 21st, 2009 20:41

"certain retailers really politely"
I hardly know the retailers in Canada, who would do that for me? Now to name a few I know would be like just 007airsoft in Calgary, buyairsoft.ca in Red Deer, and Capital Airsoft in Edmonton, and shoot soft out east

Tanaka doesn't make the G-version anymore. I think even the velocity adjuster models are no longer made. 95% of the buyers bought the regular guns with no velocity adjusters. you might be able to find it as an aftermarket drop in at some point. i have the standard length Kar98k. for upgrades, i bought, but have not installed a tightbore, scope mount and upgraded hop-up unit. i know people who have ran the gun stock for 2 years and they say they have yet to encounter problems. i plan on playing my first game with mine this summer. i plan on running it stock for a season before upgrading it. as for MP40, just get an AGM. there are a number of upgrades you can put into it. i know a guy on the forums was selling a metal drop-in replacement for the fire selector. if you have any more questions, just post them up:)

skalnok May 21st, 2009 20:53

the retailers are in the age verified section. so.. get age verified :P

ss_man May 21st, 2009 20:53

whats the price on the Tanaka K98k? Where did you buy yours from?
i may get a dboys K98k
I was going to buy the AGM MP-40 from 007airsoft then they went to "non-civilian" which really was a pain, his were $400 but i researched them and US was $125 little differance in price, with the laws in place we get hosed sometimes :(

yuhaoyang May 21st, 2009 21:31

don't get a DBoys... not many people have said any positives about them.
There are various retailers in the AV section who can special order one for you, or place it in their next order. It'll cost around 2-3x the US prices. Those people can order that MP40 as well. Good luck getting them, I always liked K-98s

i cant tell you where i bought mine from until you get AVd. once you do, ill point you to the guy who got me mine. i do all my business solely through him now (you know who you are ;)).
dont get Dboys, they suck: they are underpowered, poor performing, have shells and are not very realistic.
ya, canadian prices suck. get used to it, and dont try to get around or start threads about lisences for airsoft or petitioning/lobbying the government. its been done and you will get flamed for doing so. just to give you the heads up:)
get the tanaka. its the best. i got mine for $910 shipped with paypal fees and shit included

skalnok May 21st, 2009 22:17

gonna say im not a fan of the dboys, the whole shell ejecting is cool and all but that is when it isnt jamming or jamming :P

Dart May 21st, 2009 22:32

This forum needs a macro button that puts the words *get age verified* in for you with the touch of a button.

But yah don't get shell ejecting, I was looking into a shotgun when I started but I mean... 3-10 buxs a shell... and your gonna through them on the ground? Cause how often are you thinking about picking up shit when you gotta fall back? Sure your team would be happy at you for getting shot because you were to worried about finding your shells.

There is a review in the review section on a k98 *I think it was dboys*, If you DO get the one with shells get metal stripper clips. The plastic ones apparently really suck.
Link to review

As for the AEG you were looking for, there was a mp44 in the classifides... it lasted 3 hours before it was sold lol

General rule of thumb just to let you know about prices (these are usually minimum)
Non-Chinese guns: ORIGINAL price in USD X2.00 = roughly (+/-5%) prices in CDN
Chinese guns: Original price in USD X2.00-4.00 Cant say much, some guns from 100 goes 300, others I've seen 95 to 450.

Tanaka you're looking at about $1300 atleast
Dboys $350 BARE minimum I made a review on the Dboys 98k, if you want more info pm me
All I can say is:
**Game Skirmish -> Tanaka ONLY
**Plinking in Basement ->Tanaka or Dboys (I would becareful about propane in basement since propane is heavier then normal air and it would stay in basement for a while)
**Being like chinese cheap (sorry gotta say that, and FYI I used be Chinese immigrant, now citizen) ->Dboys
**Renenactors -> Dboys or Marushin (although marushin cost more)

Just a note: Tanaka has tightbore and G-Version upgrade whereas Dboys does not really have any. As for the Mauser 98k compatability, Dboys has higher chance of being compatiable parts. (rumour said that the Tanaka reciever is wider due to the gas design)
Hope that helps
