Compatible Reflex Sight
Hey everyone, just wondering which brands make decent Reflex sights/Low profile red dot sights for under 50$ that will fit a common 20mm AKS-74U rail?
Any help would be appreciated. |
Similar to that question (except I'll spend good money on a good sight) any good reflex sights with more than 1x magnification? Oh and how are the red/green eotech 552/553 from ebaybanned and ehobbyasia? Whats the difference? I like those black red/green dots that you can change the retical but my friends got them already and the eotech look soooo sweet!

Doctor make nice little reddots too. |
Armson makes amazing RDS. technically, they are OEG (occluded eye gunsights). they have a steep learning curve and are not for everyone, but they are the best. because they are powered by ambient light, they automatically adjust its brightness to teh surrounding environment. they are virtually indestrictible and can take a beating. just just their design, this is evident.

Any of these under 50$? I'm looking to keep this cheap, and simple.

Erennert, check out Huang's Aimpoint M2 clone. Under $50 for a red dot in Canada is pretty slim pickings. |
Nothing like a thread jack.. Haha just kidding. Does anyone know if the King Arms Reflex sights and Aimpoint reflex have good eye releif, things like that?

Ok thank-you. But can anyone recomend a nice, but cheap Reflex site? Something simple, and will fit onto the 20mm rail?
|
King arms reflexs sights are 75 bucks on airsoftparts.ca
Thats a little above what you wanted, but they are pretty solid. A friend of mine has one, its great, no fancy features, but it does its job |

I've had a Tasco, and hate it. I love the look of the small Reflex, with the screen. Then it has the 4 different reticles. Is that the G&P one?
|
Hey Erennert, Sorry for jacking the thread. That one for 75 on airsoftparts.ca is really good! Thats the one my friends have and they love it, goes from light to bright both green and red you can change the retical from four or five different patterns. That extra 25 is really worth it man, every red dot I've seen cheaper has an antiglare coating or ruby coatoing on the outer lens that actually reflects light quite noticabley. But get what you want and can afford.

IMO, aiming devises are an important purchase, because you will be using them in all firefights. If they are crap, your aim will be crap.
That is true with scopes and RDS. Before buying one, I suggest you look at reviews. You want a crisp dot that is not blurry, fuzzy or "star shaped". You also want it to be ajustable for wind and elevation. You also want it to have a dimmer on it, to match the light condition. These 3 elements are the 3 mains things that are important in a RDS. The rest depend on what the user want. I paid 120$ for my Aimpoint comp2 replica that is laser engraved... IMO the best Aimpoint replica. Still, it's a long shot from the real one. (I tried one and cried...) But it still a very effective sight for CQB and close range outdoor engagements. |
how low profile? these work well: http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...oducts_id=1211
I think Huang had similar ones a bit cheaper. |
No problem, i was kidding. Also, i think i may have found one from my local club member for under 50$. Looks exactly like this: http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...oducts_id=1038
Thanks everyone for the insight. |
dude dont cheap out with airsoft. you would think people would know that by now. go big or go home. Armson sights are awesome and probably the cheapest RS sight you can get.
|
Thats a great sight, if it looks the same, but is a differant, cheaper brand, be carefull.
You get what you pay for |
Donster, What do you mean you should have learned that by now? I'm new to airsoft, and I'm trying to keep the costs down. Anyways, It's the player, not the gear, although gear does play a part.
|
I bought a cheap optic for my first gun, not making that mistake again, if you can manage the nextra 25 bucks, it will be well worth it for the KA sight
|
Yeah, i know, but I'm not going to go out and spend 200 dollars on a RS sight, when this is airsoft, and we are playing with toy guns, not RS.

You know, you come on asking for peoples help then you argue when they give you advice. The experienced people are all saying don't buy crap. Maybe you should ease up on the spoonfeeding and do a bit of research on your own. Moving this thread to a more appropriate area. |
I didn't mean to be arguing, just saying that im trying to keep this as low cost as possible. Sorry if it came out that way.

EDIT: forgot to ass, for a rifle, like your AK, a reflex sight isn't the best choice. those are better for pistols and stuff like that. get an RDS, scope or OEG |
Hmm, Well where i play, theres not very many long range encounters, so i dont tihnk i need any kind of magnification. Just looking for this kind of look.

Anything you find for less than $50 probably isn't worth using. You'll have to spend a minimum of $75 to get something decent. And 20mm rails are the standard. Unless you get into certain sporting/hunting rifles that have dovetail mounts and whatnot, just about everything is 20mm rail-compatible. I don't think I've even heard of an RDS that doesn't mount to 20mm rails.

If your going cheap: http://cgi.ebay.com/Electro-Red-Gree...3%3A1|294%3A50 there you be, cheap as you'll get. But beware, it won't last. I've had a few, the lens likes to pop out.
|
Ok thanks, not really worried about damage but you never know when playing airsoft :P
|
ya that sight on Nathan's Ak is a RDS.
