About Airsoft Laws

Okay so I read the sticky's in the FAQ section however I'm still a bit unclear...basically I've been looking at this gun:

http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...l?prodID=25122

and so I'm wondering a few things:

1) Will it be legal for me to buy it online and have it delivered here or will it be confiscated or something

2) If I can't get it is there any way for me to able to, such as like a licensed dealer importing it or something?

Thanks for any help I appreciate it

No it's not legal for you to get this gun. Airsoft guns will most likely be seized at the border. After being seized, I heard that the CBSA will check all your future packages to make sure that you are not importing anymore "airsoft items", basically, u'll be on their radar. You'll need to be Age Verified (assuming you are 18 and above), then you can check out the classified sections. =]

Not a problem, they are about double the price here in Canada, depending on the seller and condition. That is a very nice gun too.

Please don't spread false information. A firearms license doesn't let you import prohibited items.

First post corrected.

It's a "Business Firearms License" which lets you import however the government is stingy about giving those out (and they're only given to established companies for movie props, Mil/LE training supply etc.). Not to mention the costs associated with the actual application (and subsequent renewal costs).

If you're 18 in a few weeks then wait, get AV'ed and take a browse through the Classifieds (once AV'ed). Note that the AV process may take a few days or up to a month depending on scheduling and when the next AV batch is going through (it's a "switch" that's turned on by the site admins so it's not automatic, your AV rep has to manually submit the info (and hope that they get the right spelling of the username)). If the last AV batch was yesterday (and your AV rep missed submitting your info) for example it might take a week or a week and a half to get your AV status updated.

kalnaren September 26th, 2009 15:03

It's actually a BFL with an additional special provision that allows you to import movie props.

burningashes September 26th, 2009 16:18

Either way, when you get age verified, goto the AV retailers thread and talk to illusion or cbcsteve. They might be able to help you on that certain GBB. Not to mention, a couple of these are always kicking around the classifieds.

kullwarrior September 26th, 2009 16:25

thought we're not allow to disclose who can or who are AV Retailer. Just FYI there's alot more than that. Some people who have BFL does custom order but its sorta the they know you type of deal

Well, that used to be the case. But since ASC now makes a killing from retailer income, that's been completely ignored. But if you're not a paying retailer, the mere suggestion of having something for sale will bring the mod hammer down on you. Gotta love how money can change things.

Careful you might get ban for speaking against ASC ;)

Cortexburn September 26th, 2009 20:48

I'm pretty sure the income from the retailers isn't THAT substantial...

Crunchmeister September 26th, 2009 20:57

Well, seeing how many retailers / advertisers are on here and how much they pay (not including the income from 'contributing members' plus google ads), 1 month's worth of revenue can pretty much cover the cost of keeping this site running for a year. I have no issues with ASC or its owners making money. I take issue with ignoring long-established rules that were in place to keep non-AVed members from being able to acquire guns in favour of making money.

Anyway, I guess I derailed the topic. Sorry about that.

We have seen how easy it is to get age verified nowadays. Look at Greg Aush. The guy just used a fake ID!!! Either way, i have complete trust in both members mentioned that they wont sell to an underaged kid. They are upstanding members of the community and have been here for quite a while. And trust is what this community is based on and we all are witness to that.

Con Murder September 27th, 2009 02:52

Serial? A kid used a fake for airsoft?! WOW now we've joined the ranks of lusted adult material!!! Take that Export Gold! (Oooo smoke break!)

Don't jump the gun here. From what I can tell he didn't use a fake ID he had his last name legally changed or something to that extent and didn't disclose who he was.

He mustve been desperate to come back. hehe. name change eh?

CDawg September 27th, 2009 23:00

wow that's quite a lengths to go through lol, anyways just one more quick clarification:

That gun wouldn't be legal to import but it's legal to own right? Also where are you allowed to fire these (so is it okay to fire on my property etc or is it restricted to the fields).

Technically, no discharge within city limits except for licensed airsoft or paintball fields. But people do fire it in their basements or so, away from prying eyes.

I'd mine it, but wait for the gold to become super rare before i sell it. But in your context, yes i believe he thought he had airsoft canada by its tail again. perhaps the only thing short of the perfect crime was to have someone else pose as him and get AVed, then retail without showing his face and put no return address. wait a sec... (Greg stop looking at this).. So yea thats the mistakes he made. Man i shouldve been a detective. I would be valuable to the RCMP or Police.

Not desperate to come back. Desperate to hide from the people he owed a lot of money to. Somewhere in the Propscam thread I did a calculation...he took something like $48-$60K from people at the time he disappeared. Now, some of those folks eventually got their stuff or money back, but some didn't.

And holy sht!~!! If he was any smarter he wouldve been in Mexico by now. Greed is the downfall of all men. hehe
