KJW Hi Capa

Hey guys,
Is the KJW Hi Capa http://www.007airsoft.com/products/p...ages/20078.jpg compatible with the TM Hi Capa? I'm looking at upgrading the barrel, hi flow valve and enhanced recoil hammer spring, etc.....
Thanks.

Daiviet October 13th, 2009 15:53

yes

Second that.

Ripperman79 October 13th, 2009 16:07

agreed it'll fit

Kos-Mos October 13th, 2009 18:07

Upgraded recoil springs won't fit.

The spring guide bushing is made tapered inside and the space for the spring is made too short.

The hammer spring does fit however.

Hmm, I have a new recoil spring in mine.

Slipped in without a fuss.

Maybe it was designed for KJW Hi Capa specifically...I cant recall.

Kos-Mos October 13th, 2009 21:44

I have a 150% Guarder recoil spring set in my left hand an a KJW KP-05 in the right hand.

It just won't fit.

Also tried a 4.3 spring and I get the same issue.

Hmm.

I believe you, I'm just confused.

Oh well.

You seem more sure than me, so kain128, to be safe, lets say they dont fit.

ujiro October 13th, 2009 21:51

I have even had fitment issues with the Guarder 150% in my TM Hicapa.

Mind you, it is with a SD slide.

Styrak October 13th, 2009 21:57

The problem is probably that it's made by Guarder.
Lol.

ujiro October 13th, 2009 21:59

You make an excellent point :P.

Time to source one of the better made ones..

Styrak October 13th, 2009 22:03

I sell Element 150% recoil sets!
I can test it with my aftermarket metal slide if you want.

ujiro October 13th, 2009 22:06

Would you? Even just measuring the OD. The OD on my guarder spring is significantly larger than the stock spring.

But if you would test it that would be epic. I would buy one of those fo sho, assuming they aren't as crappy as the guarder ones :P

Styrak October 13th, 2009 22:16

Damn, I guess mine are just SLIGHTLY too thick for aftermarket spring guide bushing. It does fit in, but you can't compress the rod fully into the guide.

ujiro October 13th, 2009 22:18

Can you measure the OD?

I have bored out the spring plug on mine a bit, so it might still work.

Styrak October 13th, 2009 22:27

I measured my original TM spring to be 9mm, and the Element one to be 10mm.

pusangani October 13th, 2009 22:29

Try a king arms one from illusion, I've had success with those, I think I bought his last 2 though :D

You jerk! Always ruining everything for everyone ;)

pusangani October 13th, 2009 22:33

I'll sell you one for $30 muahahahha

ujiro October 13th, 2009 22:40

Thats gouging!!

RacingManiac October 13th, 2009 23:05

I've used Guarder spring in all my 1911/2011 build(minus the open gun, it uses Airsoft surgeon, bought it as a test part)....none have any issue....SD slide(plug), AS plug, stock 1911 plug, Nova plug, 9Ball plug....etc

ILLusion October 13th, 2009 23:26

I've never had any problems with Guarder springs, either...

ujiro October 13th, 2009 23:29

Weird. Because when I got it, it wouldn't compress at all into the spring plug. I mean it would go in, but when it was coiled up, it would not fit into the spring plug.

ILLusion October 13th, 2009 23:33

I've had problems with half the Shooters Design spring guide bushings... basically, the interior was extremely rough and/or not reamed out to the proper inner diameter. Attacking it with a cylindrical file helped alleviate the issue.

RacingManiac October 14th, 2009 00:17

^ Same issue....Very odd that the SD does everything else so well, but their guide bushing/plug is so shoddy....

Yeah I've been doing this. It is much much better than it was originally. I'm going to keep going at it I guess until it works perfectly.

yuhaoyang October 14th, 2009 01:12

Guarder springs worked fine with mine. AS springs are fine too.

kain128 October 14th, 2009 15:53

Thanks for the info guys :)
I have another question regarding the KJW Hi Capa.....what rail would fit on it? I'm looking at putting a red dot on it....
Thanks gain.

Talk to illusion about that. =)

ching4ever October 15th, 2009 04:39

I just got a KJW 6" Hi-Capa, guarder 150% spring fit just nice. The spring fit perfectly on WE 5.1" Hi-capa as well.

Any, as long as it's the type that drills in to the frame. I have a couple for sale, and can order other styles.
