FYI for the noobs........ Little clip on MP5 magwell side, what it's for

Often wondered myself, knew it had something to do with the sling, but here is what it's really for:

YouTube- SAS Weapons

Figured I'd post this cuz it's a cool video, and I just made a bungee sling same as shown for my new Crosman Stinger shottie. Not too bad at all actually.

If you liked that video, you should watch the mini series it came from, heres the link

YouTube- SAS Survival Secrets (Episode 1/7 - Part 1/6)

CDN_Stalker November 6th, 2009 11:58

Ya, watched a few of those episodes a month ago, really interesting stuff.

Love his accent. One of the guys on the show was the one seen blowing out the window in the Iranian Embassy seige. In one of the episodes he talks about it, really cool.

That same guy (with the big bushy mustache) now runs an airsoft training school in the UK.

I've read a lot of books: The consensus is that everyone who has ever served in the SAS was on that balcony. :)

CDN_Stalker November 6th, 2009 12:38

That IS the actual guy that was the first on the balcony.

JTF27 November 6th, 2009 12:51

I was on that balcony...

CDN_Stalker November 6th, 2009 14:40

Dart November 6th, 2009 14:58

I brought the tactical SAS keg! Its got a torch on it, where ever that torch is pointed is where your beer is going.

KenC November 6th, 2009 15:57

One of the most informative documentary about the SAS's. Love it.

Haha I remember you, you were across from my DJ booth, I was belting out some MAD tunes, beats so hot they set some curtains on fire, I'll never live that down at the office.

ShelledPants November 6th, 2009 16:44

Y'all look the same. :\

szetor November 6th, 2009 18:34

Gonna try this out next time
Clipping my MP5 to my shirt would probably cause my shirt to rip.

CDN_Stalker November 6th, 2009 18:57

Likely it only works with the HK designed sling for the MP5 (and I saw a couple other guns they had with the same thing). Might get lucky and get it to work with whatever sling you have.

BTW, so far making a cheap bungee sling thing for my shotgun works great, wear it like a three point (top part of the loop over your shooting side shoulder) and let it hang on the support side, is right there when you need it, goes back when you don't, and your sidearm is free too.

Spawn28 November 6th, 2009 19:06

personally i just use the clip to open beer bottles its a great conversation piece.

Wasn't aware it was that strong? I can flex my TM ones with my thumbnail.

Side note, I use the butt mount of my SD (the metal cap that fits on the body) as a way to put out my smokes before I fieldstrip the butts and toss in my dump pouch.
